Welcome to my stop on the Christmas Mail Order Angels blog tour, hosted by Singing Librarian Books. I am reviewing Mistletoe Mistake by Lynette Sowell which, like the other novellas in this collection, is available for only $0.99 right now on Amazon!
Matthew Thomas cooked up the whole idea of the Mail Order Angels, but when his own angel appears in the form of Sophia Webster, at first his feet get colder than a Wyoming blizzard. Sophia tries to make a new start in Wyoming by staying true to her word and helping Matthew establish the newspaper, but come spring, it’s back East for her–unless Matthew’s change of heart can convince her otherwise.
This is such a sweet story of romance, and the fact that it was between two people closer to my age (which shall remain unspoken here) made it all the more refreshing. I enjoyed watching them fall in love even though they hemmed and hawed around in the process. I actually appreciated their hesitation, an unusual element in marriage-of-convenience tropes. This brought more realism to the romance and made the anticipation all the sweeter. In fact, there’s one particular kiss that had me reaching for my fan!
My Rating: 3.5 stars / Enjoyed it!
KissingBook Level: 3.5 / May forget to breathe on occasion & may find oneself in need of a good fan toward the end.
(I received a copy of this novella in exchange for only my honest review.)
