Top Ten Tuesday: Series I Still Need to Start

June 20, 2017 Top Ten Tuesday 61

Today on Top Ten Tuesday, we are tackling those mile-long lists of series that we really mean to read ASAP but … life. And books. And not enough time. In fact, for every one series I mention here today, there are at least 10 more waiting in the wings. I’m not complaining though – because BOOKS ARE THE BEST!!

(Clicking on each series’ graphic will send you to its Amazon page for a list of books.)

I have no excuse. Except for the out-of-control universe that is my TBR list.

What about you? What is a series you’ve been meaning to start but haven’t yet?

Carrie

    Hehe! I have finally read The Storm Siren Trilogy…And yes it really is THAT good! Lunar Chronicles YES! LOVE! I need to start so many series still.

  4. Megan Hamsher

    The biggest problem I have is that I see a book, check it out, think it’s going to be fun to read .. and then I realize: WHOOPS .. it’s #4 and it’s the only one in the series I own … oh, and you’re supposed to read the series in order.
    Or it’s in a series that is “sort of” connected to each other and .. well .. “still in pieces”.
    Then there’s the series I finally have all of the books .. I just haven’t read yet.
    Yep .. story of my life!
    I love series ’cause I can jump between genres and yet feel like I’m “reunited” with old friends all of the time!

    REALLY easy to make up this kind of list! Here’s some …..
    Ancient Words series by A. M. Heath
    A Walk in the Park series by Annalisa Daughety

    Oh my goodness. That’s a long list! I’ve never read any of Sarah Ladd’s books but have a bunch on my TBR pile. I haven’t started Karen Witemeyer’s Ladies of Harper Station yet. I also haven’t started the Montana Skies series yet. I haven’t read any of Jody Hedlund’s YA books yet. I’ve never read anything by Roseanna White or Tamera Alexander. It’s crazy, I know! So many books, so little time!

    • Karen

      *Montana Rescue. See? I can’t even get the name right, lol. I need to just dive in! ๐Ÿ˜‚

    • Carrie

      haha Karen! GO! Right now! Go read Roseanna White or Tamera Alexander or Sarah Ladd! Go, go! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. MH

    Too many fabulous books. Sigh.
    You MUST read the Montana Rescue series, though….if you keep putting it off, there will just be more books in the series to read…which actually isn’t a bad thing at all….

    I’ve heard so much about Tamara Leigh that I need to pick up one of her books.

  7. Katie Donovan

    I knew Tamara’s Age of Faith series would be on this list! And I read the first book in Valerie Comer’s Farm Fresh series only recently and quite enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

    As for my own list, you’ll have to come and read it for yourself! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. Rebecca Maney

    I am totally with you on “The Age of Faith” series. It overwhelms me to think of trying to catch up.

    You will love Heather Gilbert’s series and they are very easy to read and so well written. I want to read some of Mike Delloso’s books as well.

    • Sylvia M.

      Speaking of overwhelming. A few years ago I found out about the Perry Mason mysteries by Erle Stanley Gardner. There are 82 books in the series. He wrote them from 1933-1973. I printed a list of all the Perry Mason titles and cross off each one I have read. Over a few years I have slowly been checking them out of libraries around the state and have read a great many of them, but not all.

      • Carrie

        i have some of the originals from my grandfather’s collection! I love those books!

  9. Brandy Heineman

    I got all three books in Irene Hannon’s Men of Valor series for my birthday back in February, and they are next in my pile. I’m going to read them one right after the other in a glorious binge. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Becky Smith

    Oh, definitely read the Montana Rescue series!
    I want to read the SMOKY MOUNTAIN series by Karen Kirst;
    the AGE OF FAITH series by Tamara Leigh;
    the SELECTION series by Kiera Cass
    the GEORGIA GOLD series by Denise Weimer;
    the JACK TURNER series by Dan Walsh;
    the THEN CAME series by Louise M. Gouge;
    the LOVE BLOSSOMS IN OREGON series by Miralee Ferrell;
    several series by Ronie Kendig;
    the ROCK HARBOR series by Colleen Coble;
    and my list goes on and on….

  11. Lori Parrish

    My problem is I like to buy the books but I never read them. I tell myself “I got to have it”
    I also have The habit of getting in the middle of any series no matter what it is!

  12. Nancy M

    Ha ha! So many! Ugh! Seriously! Tamara Leigh’s Age of Faith, yes! I have several series finished because of sales bought, now time to read them.

  13. Brittaney B

    Ahh! The Age of Faith is my very favorite, but then I love medieval historical fiction.
    The Farm Fresh series almost made my list and I love the unique premise. I have Heather Day Gilbert’s Viking series on my list though, I’ve heard such good things about it. So many series and not enough time!

  14. Barb (boxermommyreads)

    The Library Lovers series is one series I am actually current on. I love those books so much. I would say definitely start those as soon as possible. I need to re-read Cinder so I can continue on with The Lunar Chronicle series. I really did like Cinder but too many books and not enough time.

    • Carrie

      People have told me to read the first three but not to worry about the others lol

  15. Beth Erin

    Oh my merciful heavens, I do not even want to THINK about how many series are in my tbr… this is why I cannot TTT! GAH!

  16. Winnie Thomas

    Okay, I was already overwhelmed with anxiety due to wanting to read so many books that are in my TBR pile, but now I’m even overwhelmed-er. I need to figure out how to clone myself so I get them read faster. ๐Ÿ˜€

  17. Sarah Monzon

    Stop what you are doing RIGHT NOW and read (actually listen to the audio books) of the Age of Faith series!!! You know I’m right!
    I’m with you on the Lunar Series, though. I HAVE to find the time to read those.

  18. Dianna

    Oh yeah, I forgot about The Selection series. I read a couple of those. Wonder what happened?

    I LOVED the Lunar Chronicles. I put off reading it forever, but my daughter insisted. She kept giving me her copy of Cinder and I finally read it….loved those books.

  19. Andrea Stephens

    I’m with Beth Erin and Winnie on this subject.
    I have too many series that I want to start but I don’t like waiting for the next book to come out. I tend to wait until I can get them all, but then I feel guilty because I didn’t read the first ones sooner. It’s a never ending, self-abuse cycle with me and series of books. I know I’m punishing myself for no good/valid reason (other than insanity).
    Perhaps I’m just weird… O_o

  20. Lynne M Feuerstein

    Tanks for this post Carrie! Have been meaning to read The Culper Ring series by Roseanna White,but haven’t had the chance ,yet. So many books,So little time! ๐Ÿ™‚

  21. Jane

    I LOVE The Lunar Chronicles and The Selection Series! Hope they can make it up on your TBR soon ๐Ÿ™‚ But how easy it is to grow that TBR pile and how hard to shrink it, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

  22. Aubrey Aster

    The Lunar Chronicles are one of my favorite series of all time! Each book offers something different and I feel like everyone is able to relate to one of the characters. You should definitely read them!

    The Selection Series has a bit more mixed opinions, but I really enjoyed them as a light hearted read.

    • Carrie

      i have all the Lunar Chronicles…. now just to find time to read them lol

  23. Zeee @ I Heart Romance & YA

    Oh, Carrie! I have read The Lunar Chronicles and The Selection series…. and I can say that TLC is absolutely enchanting and amazing! Definitely, a must read. The Selection series is a meh read for me and I only read the first 3 books in that series. It is like The Bachelorette and I absolutely did not like it. But I HAD to finish reading the first 3 books… ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Carrie

      i’ve been told to only bother with the first 3 in the Selection series lol

  24. carylkane

    I’ve Mary Weber’s Storm Siren Trilogy! ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. Rissi

    Enjoy the Selection books, Storm Siren trilogy and Montana Sky (I need to read book two) books! So many great stories in them.

    I’m curious about the Fresh Farm books. They look so cute – those whimsical covers make me smile every time I seem them on Amazon. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Carrie.
