Happy Saturday!

I can’t believe that it’s less than a month until the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat!! SO EXCITING!! I can’t wait!

Did you grab any great deals during Prime Day at Amazon last week?

Here are the Goodreads giveaways ending this week that I thought might be of interest to y’all. Best of luck to each of you! 🙂 As always, clicking on the covers will take you to the giveaways and neither myself nor my blog are in any way affiliated with Goodreads or these giveaways. All giveaways are US only this week.

Not a lot up for grabs this week – at least not the ones appropriate to this blog lol.

Thanks for the post, Carrie! Fortunately, I was basking in the beauties of Island Park, Idaho (just outside Yellowstone) this past week, so, unfortunately, I didn’t get reception to grab any Amazon Prime Day deals, but, fortunately, I saved enough money to pay for my fun getaway with 3 of my gal friends, although it wasn’t very costly due to the fact that one of my friends owns the cabin. (Wasn’t that a simply marvelous run on sentence complete with gobs of commas?) We had a simply awesome time reading, gabbing, relaxing, seeing a couple of plays, and spending a bit of time in Yellowstone.

I used the $5 off $15 book purchase (of course). I got Just Look Up and Heart On the Line!

  3. Andrea Stephi

I got stuff! I got a purse,an over the door shoe organizer(not using it for shoes though), a couple books, or more than a couple 😉 and movie for hubby.
But my favorite deal was a new Fire HD 8 Inch Tablet. My eyes just needed a little bit bigger screen. I mostly used points and a gift card, so I didn’t spend too much cash.

    Dear Carrie,
Can you please encourage more of the authors to give ebooks in the giveaways that can be sent to people outside the US. It is sad to see everything so focussed on one country. I think especially of people who’d love to read Christian fiction but are in places where getting it is incredibly expensive (Africa, Caribbean, Asia, South American …)
    Thank you

    • Carrie

The reason it’s focused on the US only is twofold – 1) most Christian Fiction authors live in the US and 2) the international regulations (different for each country) make it difficult for them to offer even ebooks as giveaways. So much legal mumbo-jumbo.

I’ll add a point 3) to Carrie’s list. Postage costs become prohibitive. As an Aussie, I can empathize with those non-US dwellers who always seem to miss out, but the cost of posting a book is often more than the cost of the book itself. And sadly, I have been gifted eBooks in the past that I have had trouble collecting on because of the regional copyright restrictions on the eBook. 🙁

      • Carrie

i didn’t realize that about the regional copyright restrictions, Katie! How frustrating!

        • Katie Donovan

It depends on the publisher. Most of the main Christian publishers (eg Bethany House, Tyndale, Thomas Nelson) are okay, but Love Inspired, WaterBrook Multnomah, Howard Books, Abingdon Press (for example) all have separate copyrights, so even if someone in the US gifted me a copy of the eBook, I wouldn’t be able to download it. That also means we miss out on their sales. *sigh* Just one of those things…

I got a couple of books & other items on Prime day that I’ll stash away for Christmas. Didn’t see the $5 off $15 books until I’d placed separate orders. Oh well!

Love that The Bones Will Speak is on Goodreads giveaway. It is so good! Have you read that series?
