Ooh! Ooh! Y’all! Jennifer Slattery is here today! Fun story about Jennifer – After connecting with her on Facebook, I commented on one of Jennifer’s statuses… and then my sister-in-law did too. And they had – like – a conversation. Clearly, my sister-in-law was not merely a fan. Also, clearly, my… Read more »

One of the things I enjoy so much about Cynthia Ruchti’s books is her writing voice. It’s graciously down to earth with a dry wit that has me grinning even through tears, laughing even around the lump in my throat, and always always unable to put down the story until I’ve savored every word.
Cynthia Ruchti’s books were new to me when I started blogging, but oh my goodness was I missing out! The heart and the humor and the characters captivate me from word one – no matter which book I pick up. Yesterday on Straight Off the Page, my blogging cohort Melissa… Read more »
“Ain’t is not a word.” “Put your ‘ing’ on the ends of words.” “Light is made up of a diphthong, not one long, flat vowel.” “Stand up straight.” “Put away your toothpick.” These are just some of the “bossy’ (per Reese) reminders that Dr. Adelina Roseland passes along to Reese… Read more »

Just the word brings about images of tall, strong, and swoony men emerging into a story with enough testosterone to encourage a primal growl from the purist of prudes. Okay, so some heroes might encourage more of a quiet sigh as their tenderness, touch of tease, and/or quiet strength wrap around your heart like a constant hug…from nice strong arms.
Delightful, warm, and charming, More Than a Promise is more than a love story. Or rather, it’s more than a story about two people falling in love. It’s a story of hope and faith, of humor and family, of blending lives, of second chances, and most of all it’s a story that points to the Author of all love stories and how He’s head over heels for us.
Y’all. Y’ALL. (Or youse, for Ruthy!) I am sitting here grinning from ear to ear because I GET TO CHAT WITH RUTH LOGAN HERNE on the blog today!! Ruthy is absolutely a delight to know via social media (I’m sure she’s even more delightful in person), and I really do… Read more »
To close out the month of March here on Top Ten Tuesday, we’re talking about our most recent 5-star reads. This was actually another difficult topic for me to cut off at 10 books because I’ve read so many fantastic books lately! But if I didn’t cut it off at 10, I’d still be talking about them next Tuesday… and probably the Tuesday after that.
When Jem steps into Annie’s life, she’s not expecting anyone to save her. Mute from birth, she’s just using all her wits to survive. All she’s ever really wanted is a family of her own. For someone to see her. To look at her long enough to hear the things she can’t say.
My favorite thing about Live Free from Margaret Feinberg and Bethany House Publishers is that it puts some purpose to my coloring. While my mind is peacefully engaged in deciding which shade I should make this butterfly, I am also meditating on the Bible verse that graces the page.
