This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic (hosted as always by The Broke and the Bookish) is “books to read when you’re in the mood for ______”. I really enjoy these more open-ended themes because everyone’s posts have a greater chance of being tailored to their own personalities.
Category: Top Ten Tuesday
As someone who just plain loves stories and loves the adventure of reading, I do more than occasionally branch out into other categories 😉 But it’s always with a little trepidation at first, mainly because I’m not sure what I’ll encounter along the way. So when I learned of this week’s topic, I couldn’t help but think of my category-adventures as a bit like going on blind dates. Which brought to mind the popular experience that’s been sweeping through coffee shops and bookstores lately. Which led to… this post
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic (hosted as always by The Broke and The Bookish) is all about music. There are any number of ways to go about this, but I decided to talk about books that make me think of music. Whether it’s the theme of the book or just its title, these ten eleven books fill my heart (and sometimes my lips) with a song.
I. Am. SO EXCITED. As soon as I saw that today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic was a Valentine’s KissingBooks Day freebie, I knew immediately what my post would be about. Way back in August, I wrote my KissingBooks 101 post and it remains one of my most popular/highest viewed posts. But since then I have discovered some additionally swoon-worthy KissingBooks – or remembered some that I forgot about when I was writing the first lesson. I’ve had several people ask me to do another KissingBooks 101, and I am nothing if not accommodating when it comes to this topic 😉
Wow! I can’t believe January is over and done already!
Here’s a look at how the blog spent its time during the first month of the year
This week’s topic has several possible variations but I’m choosing to talk about my favorite historical settings. You know, those periods of history whose mere mention in a book blurb has your radar engaged and your interest piqued.
The books I’m talking about today are those books that I consider eternal favorites. Many are from childhood or adolescence, some I acquired in adulthood, but all are books that have stuck with me and refuse to leave my heart. They are also all books that I reread often.
Today’s Top Ten Tuesday theme (as always, hosted by The Broke and The Bookish) is about those books we recently added to our ever-growing TBR piles. Or, in my case, my TBR island.
Between all the wonderful-sounding new books coming out this year and all the wonderful-sounding new books that came out last year… and all the wonderful-sounding books I discover every Tuesday through the TTT linkup, my TBR pile/tower/island is out. of. control.
This week’s edition of “Top Ten Tuesday” (hosted as always by The Broke and the Bookish) is brought to you by those books I meant to read in 2015 but …umm… didn’t.
I’m looking at you, 2016.
The Year of the TBR pile.
This week, we’re talking about resolutions and thankfully the topic was left open-ended. If it had just been book-exclusive, my post would have looked something like “Read. Read. Read. As usual.” So… this way will hopefully be more meaningful 🙂
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is the books we are most anticipating in the first half of 2016. I started out the list yesterday with my contemporary “can’t waits”. Today I’m going to look at the historical fiction I’m most looking forward to from January to June.
And I’m warning you right now – there’s way more than ten 🙂
Welcome to this Christmas week edition of Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly blog linkup hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Today’s topic is all about the books we wouldn’t mind seeing under our tree.
Since “all the books” would make for a pretty boring post, I’ve narrowed it down somewhat 😉 Anyone still looking for Christmasy gift ideas for yours truly, feel free to take notes.
This week’s topic for Top Ten Tuesday is “New-to-me Favorite Authors I Read for the First Time in 2015”. The great thing about starting a book blog this year is that I have been introduced to books by so many wonderful authors I hadn’t read before now! Narrowing down to 10 this week is difficult, so for brevity’s sake I didn’t include debut authors from 2015 in this list.
This week is all about those first novels by new authors, specifically the ones coming up in 2016 that we just can’t wait to read! I’ve picked some of the debut novels I’m most excited about – and then also some books by established authors who are starting either a new series or a new direction.
In honor of the upcoming holiday, I am dedicating this week’s Top Ten Tuesday to the fictional families I would most like to join for Thanksgiving. So, grab a plate, pile it high with all your favorite foods, and settle in for my dream invite list.
