This week I’m spotlighting my most anticipated books releasing this summer. Today I’m going to focus on contemporary fiction! I. Am. SO EXCITED. As soon as I saw that today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic was a Valentine’s KissingBooks Day freebie, I knew immediately what my post would be about. Way back in August, I wrote my KissingBooks 101 post and it remains one of my most popular/highest viewed posts. But since then I have discovered some additionally swoon-worthy KissingBooks – or remembered some that I forgot about when I was writing the first lesson. I’ve had several people ask me to do another KissingBooks 101, and I am nothing if not accommodating when it comes to this topic 😉
A couple of weeks ago, I brought you a new list each day of the best books I read in 2015. This week will be similar except I will be talking about the books I’m most anticipating for the first half of 2016.
Let’s kick off the week with the contemporary genre!
It’s that time of year when everyone is making lists and checking them twice. Some are finding out who has been naughty and who has been nice. Some are making sure those in their circles of gifting know what they want for Christmas.
Here at Reading Is My SuperPower, I’m making lists too! Every day this week will feature the best books I read in 2015 from different genres.
Today’s focus is contemporary fiction.
There are several great giveaways going on over at Goodreads right now for some of my favorite books!

I must confess – today’s topic (also known as – If you write it, I will read it) stresses me out. Why? Because I have SO MANY AUTHORS on my I-will-read-whatever-they-write list. I can’t possibly narrow it down to ten. (Next confession: My budget doesn’t allow for a lot of… Read more »

Author Varina Denman (one of our blog favorites!) is currently giving away 5 sets of her first two books, Jaded and Justified!! You can enter by visiting her blog and joining in the great discussion about “When Christians Judge Christians”. “It all comes down to love.”
The latest book in the “Mended Hearts” series, Justified takes us back to the small town of Trapp, Texas, and the characters we grew to love (and strongly dislike) in Jaded. Swirling with poetic language and poignant truth, Justified is the prodigals’ story – the ones who came home and the ones who… Read more »

I stumbled into Varina Denman’s launch team for Jaded after seeing a blurb about it in her email newsletter. I had never been on a launch team before, but her description of what it involved captured my interest. Frankly, she had me at “Or simply open your front door and yell… Read more »
