I was so very sad this morning to hear of Alan Rickman’s death. To me, he will always be Colonel Brandon and Professor Snape. His distinctive voice and thoughtful approach to acting will be missed.
WOW! Colleen Coble is one of my go-to romantic suspense authors for a reason! Between Mermaid Moon and The Inn at Ocean’s Edge (the first book in the Sunset Cove series), I have been spellbound for the past two days & on the edge of my seat from the suspense!
This week’s edition of “Top Ten Tuesday” (hosted as always by The Broke and the Bookish) is brought to you by those books I meant to read in 2015 but …umm… didn’t.
I’m looking at you, 2016.
The Year of the TBR pile.
While The Suspect’s Daughter can easily be read as a stand-alone novel (I read this fourth book first and had no problems following along), the characters are much better appreciated when seen through the lens of the preceding books in the ROGUE HEARTS series. Donna Hatch graciously gave me copies of those first three books so I could catch up with all of Grant’s brothers. I’m going to do a mini-review for each one in a second, but let me just say about the whole series – WOW! Keep. Your. Fans. (and freezers) Nearby. All 4 books are a KissingBook Level 5
Sarah Ladd delivers another breathtaking story of suspense and romance, with characters who step off the page and into your heart. You will be captivated by Camille’s story – your emotions engaged – as you cheer and swoon and even shed a few tears along the way. Fans of Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Julie Klassen, and Carrie Turansky will find a new favorite in Ladd’s books. The Curiosity Keeper is a marvelous place to start your collection.
You may remember December 31st as New Year’s Eve.
I remember it with great fondness as “Pepper Day”.
On December 31st, I devoted my blog to my friend, author Pepper Basham, in celebration of her birthday and her upcoming contemporary romance, A Twist of Faith – a modern and Appalachian twist on My Fair Lady.
I love the characters in Kate’s K-9 Trilogy! (And oh please tell me that Logan’s story is next!) When Love Matters Most focuses on Sergeant Rick “PitBull” Vasquez and veterinarian Madison Long, both of whom we met in the first K-9 book When The Right One Comes Along (which, incidentally, made my list of Best Books of 2015!
I’m thrilled to be spreading the word about Harlequin Heartwarming books now being available in local Walmarts across the US. Join in the fun by taking some selfies with a Heartwarming book or two to win a Walmart gift card. Heartwarming titles are also 35% off at Walmart through the end of January!
Independent publisher Sourcebooks announces the “Readers, Recommend Your Bookstore” campaign, which will give grant money to three nominated bookstores. The “Readers, Recommend Your Bookstore Campaign” is inspired by the phenomenal support booksellers have given The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald, which was selected as the #1 Indie Next Great Read for January 2016.
When you purchase items from The Shoppe, you are also helping to change the world! A portion of the profits goes to:

This week, we’re talking about resolutions and thankfully the topic was left open-ended. If it had just been book-exclusive, my post would have looked something like “Read. Read. Read. As usual.” So… this way will hopefully be more meaningful 🙂
As I normally review mainly Christian fiction, I don’t read a lot of general market contemporary romance. But when I do, it’s probably by Kristan Higgins. Or Robyn Carr. But we’re talking about Kristan Higgins today 🙂
With each new Julie Klassen book, my favorites list tends to get reshuffled. The Tutor’s Daughter is still firmly at the top of the pile but she has been given some healthy competition of late. Namely, The Secret of Pembrooke Park and Lady, Maybe… and now The Painter’s Daughter.
As 2015 wound to a close this week, I have been talking about the books I’m most anticipating for the first half of 2016. Today, I’m finishing up with some miscellaneous-category books that I can’t wait to read!
As 2015 wound to a close this week, I have been talking about the books I’m most anticipating for the first half of 2016.
Today I’m going to talk about the Amish Fiction I’m most looking forward to from January-June 2016!
We are celebrating Pepper Basham & her April release, A Twist of Faith, all day on the blog! Each post has a chance for you to win a digital copy of A Twist of Faith so make sure you’ve read all the other posts today!
Pepper Basham’s upcoming April release – A Twist of Faith – is a modern take on My Fair Lady with an Appalachian twist.
Since Pepper is one of my very favorite people in the world and A Twist of Faith is one of my very favorite books, I thought it would be fun to see what some of PEPPER’s favorite things are! So, you know, I asked her 🙂
I am THRILLED to be able to talk about two of my very favorites – A Twist of Faith and Pepper Basham – all day today! Right now, I want to spotlight the book a little bit, and Pepper has graciously provided an excerpt for your swooning…er… READING pleasure 🙂
Welcome to PEPPER DAY!!!
It’s Pepper D. Basham’s birthday, and we’re celebrating all day here at Reading Is My SuperPower!! I can think of no better way to get the day started than with the COVER REVEAL for her April 2016 contemporary novel A Twist of Faith.
