On Tour with Prism Book Tours.
With 105 books (5,000,000+ copies in circulation!), best-selling author Loree Lough’s stories have been compared to those by Nicholas Sparks, and she has been dubbed by readers and reviewers as “a gifted writer whose stories touch hearts and change lives.”
With a long list of industry awards, it isn’t likely this prolific author will ever retire…not even to her cozy li’l cabin in the Allegheny Mountains. She loves to hear from her readers and personally answers every letter sent to her website.
I’m particularly excited about today’s interview as I’ve been following Loree’s work ever since reading Beautiful Bandit. Earlier this week, I reviewed Loree’s newest book Guardians of the Heart. She graciously agreed to stop by for a chat as part of the blog tour for Prism Tours.
Me: Welcome, Loree!! We’ve shrunk the “fast four” down to three today, but we’ve kept the most important ones lol.
Apples or oranges? Why?
Loree: Apples, because while oranges are delicious, they make my fingers sticky and I can’t type!
Me: Hahaha! A perfectly valid reason! Apples remain the clear winner among all authors surveyed 🙂
Skittles or M&Ms? Why?
Loree: M&Ms, because, well…
Me: Chocolate. Enough said.
Dogs or cats? Why?
Loree: Oh my. Must I really choose? Because I love, love, LOVE both!
Me: I consulted with my dog Zuzu (also our unofficial blog mascot), and she determined your answer to be acceptable. She of course would prefer you to choose dogs but she is willing to overlook it because of the triple love 🙂
You are such a prolific writer! (5,000,000 copies in circulation – 108 books, 72 short stories, and over 2500 articles in print) Where do you get your inspiration for so many new plots and characters?
Loree: Inspiration is everywhere. Literally. I’ve come up with story ideas while reading a dog-eared old magazine in the doctor’s waiting room. At the grocery store. In the movie theater. Here at home, watching the TV news or reading the Sunday paper. Sitting on a bench at the soft ice cream parlor, listening to the conversation of patrons on the next bench. Talking to a neighbor over the back fence. While on hold to make corrections to a DirecTV statement. I could go on (and on!), but I think you get the idea!
Me: You also love to give back, donating a portion of your income to organizations that help others. Tell us about a couple of those organizations closest to your heart.
Loree: For starters, one of my grandsons is on the Autism spectrum, so anything related to the disorder is near and dear to me. I’m a full-fledged, flag-waving patriot, so I do whatever I can to help our military through organizations like the Wounded Warrior Project, Soldiers Angels, Special Operations Warrior Foundation. And like so many millions of people, I’ve lost loved ones to cancer and heart disease.
Me: That is so awesome! I love buying a book, knowing that part of my money is also going toward helping others.
What is something that no one ever asks you but you’re dying to tell people? 🙂
Loree: Audible, Inc. is, as I type, making audio versions of four of my novels (the entire First Responders series and For Love of Eli)! I can hardly wait to hear what the talented actors will do with the storylines and characters in these books!
Me: Oh, that must be exciting! How fun!! Loree, thank you SO MUCH for taking time from your busy schedule to talk with me!
