*Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup hosted by The Broke and the Bookish*
Y’all.
So. many. books.
My TBR pile is out of control.
Can anyone else relate??
Today’s theme is the top ten books on my Fall TBR. And oh good heavens – how can I possibly narrow it down to ten? Lol. So, suffice it to say, read this list with a grain of salt knowing that for every book mentioned here there are (at least) ten more stacked beneath it 🙂
1.Last Chance Hero by Cathleen Armstrong
2.The Golden Braid by Melanie Dickerson (retelling of Rapunzel!!!)
3.Falling Like Snowflakes by Denise Hunter
4.Midnight on the Mississippi by Mary Ellis
5.A Reluctant Bride by Kathleen Fuller
6.The Girl From The Train by Irma Joubert
7.A Christmas Bride in Pinecraft by Shelley Shepard Gray (Beverly’s story – yay!!!)
8.Hiding Places by Erin Healy
9.Refuge of the Heart by Ruth Logan Herne (I love this cover!)
10.Luther and Katharina by Jody Hedlund
Now you tell me – what are you excited to read this Fall? Did any books on my list catch your eye?
It is so hard to narrow my real TBR list down to just 10! But I’ve discovered if I break the list down into chunks, I actually read those books and can then move on to the next chunk. Of course, then I buy more books so it really doesn’t help! lol.
This is the third or fourth time I’ve seen The Girl From the Train mentioned in the last couple days (and not even all on TTT lists). I might have to check it out. My TTT.
Hahahahaha I know, CJ – every time I seem to be making a dent I fill it back up again with more books 😉 Thanks for stopping by!!
My TBR is out of control, too. I’ve decided to use October to tame it a little. Wish me luck!
Good luck!! 🙂
Hiding Places and Girl From the Train made my list too. There are so many good books coming out this fall.
Yes!! There are!
I’m also excited for Denise Hunter’s new one. The other big one I’m hanging out for is Katherine Reay’s The Bronte Plot in November 🙂
Yes!! Me too!!
I have to agree with you, my TBR list is out of control as well! Both Last Chance Hero and The Golden Braid made it into my top ten as well (see it here: http://spreadinghisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/09/top-ten-tuesday-books-on-my-fall-tbr.html). A Reluctant Bride, A Christmas Bride in Pinecraft, and Luther and Katharina are on my TBR list as well, just the huge part of it that comes after my top ten 😉 I also just finished Falling Like Snowflakes the other day, it was absolutely wonderful!!! (My review here: http://spreadinghisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/09/my-bookshelf-falling-like-snowflakes-by.html)
Thanks, Mackenzie! I’ll stop by and check out your list too 🙂
I think a lot of TBRs are out of control. While I haven’t read any of these, I just saw a really good review for The Girl From a Train. I love the cover for The Golden Braid and may have to check that retelling out.
Oh you really should check out Golden Braid – Melanie’s retellings are always delightful
Ahh yes, the perpetual scramble to try and get that TBR list under control 😉 I want to say that I think I’m doing a reasonable job keeping the physical TBR books under control, but looks can be deceiving and I did pick up a book from the bookstore today 😀
Interesting list! I haven’t heard of any of these but they look interesting. Happy reading!
My TTT
Yes, why do we keep buying more? Lol
The Golden Braid looks interesting — I’m a sucker for a good fairytale retelling!
Melanie’s retellings are always so wonderful!!
I have heard of none of the books on your list, how is that possible? Also, how was unaware of a Rapunzel retelling, you are the second person I’ve seen featuring The Golden Braid and I’m sat confused as to how I’ve never even heard of it. I will definitely be investigating that, there are a couple of other books I may need to investigate as well, but we shall see.
Melanie’s retellings are always so wonderful!!
Interesting list! I had never heard of Luther and Katharina, but it sounds fantastic! I taught a Sunday school class on Martin Luther years ago, so this is right up my alley.
It’s a bit different from her previous books so I’m really interested to read it!
Can’t wait to read Refuge of the Heart and yes, that cover is absolutely gorgeous! Hiding Places sounds really good as well, will definitely add it to my ever growing TBR.
Yes I’m pretty sure my TBR list is hopeless lol
These books look great! I hope you enjoy them. 🙂
Thanks!
These are great books on your list. I hope i dont stray from my TBR https://theangelspearl.wordpress.com/2015/09/22/top-ten-books-on-my-fall-tbr/
The Golden Braid looks SO GOOD. I’m super excited for it since Rapunzel is one of my favorite princesses.
I’m just super excited for whatever Melanie writes 😀
I haven’t read anything by her but I have picked up a few ebooks of hers. Guess I’ll have to start on them soon!
Oh you should – her retellings are wonderful!
I’m currently reading Thunderstorm in Church, which is a MG book about Martin Luther, to my kids, so I actually knew what Luther & Katherina was about before checking out the link. 🙂 The Reformation is such an interesting and important part of history – there should be more historical fiction about it!
I agree!!
I can totally relate to that towering pile of books! Some gorgeous covers on here, especially Refuge – it makes me want to cosy right up with a blanket and read it. Happy Fall Reading!
Doesn’t it?? Me too! 🙂
I am over half way through Last Chance Hero. It is very good. I am going to have to force one of my book clubs to read Midnight on The Mississippi. I have been looking at this one for a long time and really want to read it. Luther and Katharina is on its way to me. Yay! Great list. You know you have just added more to my wishlist!
Haha sorry Beckie 😉
Those covers are giving me heart eyes!
Lisa
Hahaha!!! What a great way to express cover love!!
I have a lot of the same titles on my kindle!
Refuge of the Heart is the only one I don’t have. The cover is gorgeous, so I will have to look into it.;)
Isn’t it beautiful??
Hi! i can totally relate to an out of control TBR list 🙂 I haven’t heard of these on your list, but I checked out Hiding Places and it sounds great! One more…. haha. Thanks for stopping by my site!
My TTT
Leslie
Haha! Thanks, Leslie!
So many great books to add to my TBR from your list! Great picks!
Renee Renee’s TTT
Thanks! 🙂
I keep thinking I’ll stop making TBR lists because they get crazy fast… but Luther and Katharina is on my list for October. The Golden Braid and A Reluctant Bride look interesting – I haven’t read any Amish fiction, might have to give it a try. 😀
If you want to start Amish fiction, start with Shelley Shepard Gray’s Secrets of Crittenden County series. It’s what got me hooked on the genre when before I hadn’t really been a fan.
Thanks for the recommendation – I’ll keep it in mind!
I haven’t heard of any of these, but I really hope you love them! Thanks for all the new suggestions! 😀
Here are my Top Ten!
Thanks, Tracy!!
Yep, I can certainly relate to an out of control TBR.
🙂
Oh, these look fabulous! Hope you get to read them all.
readerbuzz.blogspot.com
Thanks!
The Golden Braid looks great! I can’t help myself when it comes to retellings.
Me either 🙂 And Melanie’s are always superb!!
A retelling of Rapunzel? That sounds amazing.
Thanks for sharing.
Amanda
I have every faith that it will be – Melanie’s books always are!!
I know how you feel – my TBR is out of control!! If authors would quit writing such fantastic books, this would not be a problem. 😉 Enjoy your fall reading!
Haha exactly! 😉
The Golden Braid sounds really interesting! Lots of new books on your list for me to look into!
Thanks for stopping by the The Local Muse
Thanks, Mallory! The Golden Braid will be wonderful, I have no doubts! 🙂
There’s atleast 4 books on this list that looks like books I’d love to read, so great list, Carrie! Enjoy the fall reading.
Yay! You will have to come back & let me know what you think if you read them 🙂
Great list!! I haven’t read any of these, but Midnight on the Mississippi looks interesting. I’ll have to check it out. I hope you enjoy all these books this fall.
Thanks for stopping by my TTT!
Thanks Jacque! It’s a slightly new genre for this author so I’m excited to read it!
Hope you enjoy your autumn reading! Thanks for visiting my TTT!
Thanks!!
I can totally relate to that picture. The only good thing is that I can’t just stack my books up like that so that keeps me from getting threatened by them to be buried. Very interested in The Golden Braid. I’ve been looking at some of Melanie Dickerson’s books, but I just don’t know which one to try first. (Any suggestions?)
I would read either Healer’s Apprentice or Merchant’s Daughter because a) they are my faves lol and most importantly b) they start out the fairy tale series. I know you will love them!
Looks like you’ve got some great books on your TBR! Good Luck!
Everyone’s TBRs are out of control! Haha. I know the struggle. Having a large TBR pile is oddly overwhelming and satisfying at the same time. Great list!
That’s so true lol
I can relate! My TBR collection is overflowing. I enjoyed reading your list! You always include such interesting books (which is bad for my already toppling TBR piles). Midnight on the Mississippi caught my eye and Falling on Snowflakes.
Thanks!! Tuesdays are always hard on my TBR tower too lol 🙂
Great looking covers, I have to check out the winter ones!
Aren’t they pretty? 🙂
Great list! The Refuge of the Heart has such a nice winter-y cover!
Isn’t it pretty??
I relate. So, so much. I’ve seen The Golden Braid popping up quite a bit. I’ll have to add it to my ridiculously long TBR.
Haha I feel your pain 🙂 The Golden Braid will be well worth it though!
Hahaha, I TOTALLY relate, girl! I am running out of space to cram books into, lmao. Looks like you and my mom have similar genres in common. She loves Amish type romance. 🙂
I’m selective with my Amish fiction but I really have come to enjoy the authors I favor in that genre 🙂
Haha, yes I can totally relate to the never ending TBR. But I’d rather too many books to read than none at all.
Looks like you have some interesting books on your list. Best of luck with them all.
Thanks! 🙂
Luther and Katharina looks amazing, I love the cover.
Isn’t it breathtaking?
My tbr is out of control, too! Hope you get to all the books on the list – so many good ones.
Haha thanks 🙂
I think that an out-of-control TBR goes hand in hand with being a blogger 🙂 I love the cover for Golden Braid and Luther and Katarina, I’ll have to check them out.
Very true 🙂
Haha, I can completely relate to having an out of control TBR list! Every time I think I know what I’m going to read next, I take a journey through the Kindle store, or browse Goodreads, or take a trip to the library to pick up a book on hold. The next thing I know my TBR has doubled.
Exactly lol
yes! I can totally relate, I’m scared my tbr pile may fall over and bury me alive sometime soon! I haven’t heard of most of these but I can see a few that are going to join my tbr pile lol.
Great list
Happy Reading
Rachel @ paein-and-ms4tune.co.uk
Yes, I’m fairly sure mine will kill me one day 😉
I feel ya. I could have easily listed nine times as many books I need to get to. lol Happy Reading! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
Lol 🙂
Refuge of the Heart sounds brilliant! Great list 🙂
Everyone keeps telling me to read Girl on the Train. I need to get on that. Great list 🙂
Thanks for stopping by at my TTT at http://adreamfrommyheart.blogspot.com/2015/09/top-ten-books-on-your-tbr-list.html
Denise Hunter’s and Jody Hedlund’s latest are amazing! Hope you enjoy both, Carrie – and happy reading. 🙂
I really need to read something by Melanie Dickerson one day!
Yes please do! She is wonderful!!
This is the second list I have seen with The Golden Braid! While I loved Cress by Marissa Meyer, it’s nice to see another retelling with Rapunzel. She was always a favorite of mine when I was younger. Thanks for stopping by my blog!!
I anticipate that Golden Braid will be absolutely wonderful!!
They look fantastic, great choices! They also make such a nice colour scheme for Autumn!
Thanks!!
A Rapunzel retelling? Sign me up! So few writers have taken up the challenge of retelling this story. I guess it’s a difficult one to adapt so that the princess isn’t just a damsel in distress. I’ll have to keep my eyes open for this one!
I’m sure with Melanie at the helm it will be amazing!!
i haven’t read any book yet but they all look and sound interesting! 😀
Thanks!! 🙂
You’re always welcome, Carrie!
None of these seem like my kind of read, but I hope you can get through some of them and slim down that TBR list!!
Thank you 🙂
that TBR picture is a perfect representation of my life at the moment as well (and i’m sure most book bloggers feel this way) lol. great post this week! happy fall reading!
and thanks for checking out my post at http://www.wholly-books this week!
Haha! Thanks 🙂
Ooh I agree, the cover for Refuge Of The Heart is lovely! Happy reading.
I haven’t read any of these, but I can totally relate to having an enormous/endless TBR. There’s just so many books I want to get to. It was definitely hard getting it down to 10. Good luck!
Great list! I haven’t read any of the books here, but they look like they’re worth a look at. Great quote by the way! I can totally relate 😉
Have a great day,
Amy x
Thanks!!
I like the cover of Refuge of the heart, too!!

I can related! I’m reading The Golden Braid now.
