I am SO EXCITED!
In February, one of my favorite people in the world – Melanie Dickerson – is releasing the first book in her new Regency Spies of London series. I mentioned it Tuesday in the list of 2016 debuts I’m excited to read. I already love every fairy tale retelling she writes and cannot wait to see what she does with a regency setting… and spies!
The cover is so gorgeous!! I mean… major cover love from me!
Wanna see?
Here ya go š
In Englandās Regency era, manners and elegance reign in public lifeābut behind closed doors treason and tawdriness thrive. Nicholas Langdon is no stranger to reserved civility or bloody barbarity. After suffering a battlefield injury, the wealthy, well-connected British officer returns home to healāand to fulfill a dying soldierās last wish by delivering his coded diary.
At the home of the Wilherns, one of Englandās most powerful families, Langdon attends a lavish ball where he meets their beautiful and intelligent ward, Julia Grey. Determined to maintain propriety, he keeps his distanceāuntil the diary is stolen and all clues lead to Juliaās guardian. As Langdon traces an evil plot that could be the nationās undoing, he grows ever more intrigued by the lovely young woman. And when Julia realizes that Englandāand the man she is falling in love withāneed her help, she finds herself caught in the fray. Will the two succumb to their attraction while fighting to save their country?
Oh, that’s really gorgeous. I’m so looking forward to this book. Too bad the hero’s not on the cover, too.
The cover is just beautiful! I can’t wait to read this one. Have a good weekend!
You too!
Like you, I’ve read all of Melanie’s fairy tale books (except The Golden Braid, which I’ll read after Christmas; have to let my daughter read it first since it’s her gift). My daughter and I both love her books. It will be exciting to read this new direction for her work. A Spy’s Devotion sounds great and certainly has a very lovely cover.
