Welcome to this Christmas week edition of Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly blog linkup hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Today’s topic is all about the books we wouldn’t mind seeing under our tree.
Since “all the books” would make for a pretty boring post, I’ve narrowed it down somewhat 😉 Anyone still looking for Christmasy gift ideas for yours truly, feel free to take notes.
for “favorites shelf” purposes…
Melanie Dickerson’s fairy tale retellings
The Healer’s Apprentice ( Sleeping Beauty)
The Merchant’s Daughter (Beauty & the Beast)
The Fairest Beauty (Snow White)
The Captive Maiden (Cinderella)
The Princess Spy (The Frog Prince)
(As an extra bonus, all of these ebooks PLUS her newest release The Golden Braid (Rapunzel) are on sale for $1.99 right now!!! It’s the perfect time to stock up on all 6!)
the Harry Potter series
the Puffin in Bloom box set
So…well… that was a bit more than 10 but what can I say? Gotta make sure Santa has plenty of options! 🙂
What books do you want to see under your tree this year?
I love the cover of Chance of Loving You. So pretty!
I love that one too!!
I’ve got my eye on “The Bookshop Book” as well. Hopefully some day…
It looks so interesting!
Such pretty books!
I know – they make me smile!
Great Top Ten!
I still need to jump on the Harry Potter bandwagon! I’ve watched the movies thought, if that counts! 😐
My TTT! 😀
Oh the books are SO MUCH better!!!!!!
I stuck to fiction for my list, but I would love a copy of The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. 🙂
I’ve been hearing so much about it lately!
The Bookshop Book and Forgotten Bookmarks would both be fun! Here’s my TTT:/a>.
I was just looking at yours – had not heard of the Jane Austen & The 12 Days of Christmas book before your post. Definitely need to look for that one!! Thanks for stopping by!
Dear Santa – I’m hoping you’ll consider bringing me The Sunken Realm (book 4) by Serena Chase, because you know I often have a hard time getting a copy of the last book in a series when I’m so desperate to know the ending! Plus, you know what a fan I am of the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, right? Well, the audio books are great except…as usual I can’t get my hands on a copy of the final book, Winter. If you could find an audio CD of this book it would be, like, you know, WOW, you are awesome Santa!!!! And you know that anything by Denise Hunter is always a welcome addition to my book shelf. Forgive me for being greedy because my shelves are already filled with Melanie Dickerson, Pepper Basham, Colleen Coble, Sarah Ladd, Carla Laureano, Lenora Worth, Lee McClain, Valerie Comer, Rachel Hauck, and so many other great books. I guess what I need most, Santa, is more time to read all the great books on my shelf! A huge snow storm would be very welcome after Christmas, so if you and God could work out this detail I would be doing a happy praise dance to show my appreciation! Cookies and hot chocolate are waiting for you Santa. I’ve also cleaned out the recliner so you can have a little rest while you visit. Give my best to Mrs. Claus and the elves! Your friend, Stacey.
LOL!!!! Best. Comment. Ever.
That Harry Potter box set looks gorgeous! The Puffin in Bloom Collection looks stunning too. Such pretty books! 🙂
aren’t they pretty? they make me smile 🙂
So pretty. I hope you get the books you’ve wished for 🙂
Nice covers. Hope you get all those books. My TTT: https://outlookonabook.wordpress.com/2015/12/22/top-ten-tuesday-5/
I’ve read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up! I did like it, but I didn’t find it as awe-inspiring as others did. It did make me want to go de-clutter everything. I think a few weeks later, when I was also listening to a podcast episode about de-cluttering, I did my purses, clothes, shoes and so on. It’s really such a good feeling. I do think the book is full of great ideas and tips for tidying up. I hope you’ll get these under the tree! 🙂
oh that’s good to know about the book – thanks!! It helps to hear from someone who’s read it 🙂
Yes, you need the HP series! Lol. 😀 here’s my TTT http://angelerin.blogspot.com/2015/12/top-ten-tuesday-top-ten-books-i-would.html?m=0
I’ve been wanting How to be a Heroine for a long time! I hope you find them under your tree! (Or at least a gift card so that you can buy them for yourself!)
yes, gift cards work nicely too 😀
I would love to own all the HP books. I have books 1 and 5. I’ve been slowly collecting them when I see the hardcovers at Goodwill or other thrift stores.
that’s a great idea!!
Mr. Darcy’s Guide to Courtship sounds really interesting. I looove me some Mr. Darcy so i know I wouldn’t mind getting that book under my tree. I hope Santa sees this list and treats you well!
lol thank you 😀
A.) Those Puffin books are gorgeous (I own ‘Little Women’ in that edition) and B.) Your Christmas graphics are super cute! 🙂
haha thank you 😀
Quite the list! Are you sure you can fit all those under the tree? 😉
LOL no… probably not. Gift cards will be a satisfactory substitute 😉
Great list, thanks for sharing!
Those Puffin in Bloom books are so pretty!
Aren’t they? They just make me smile 🙂
Oh I really like Melanie Dickerson’s books! And I own that copy of Anne of Green Gables (from the Puffin in Bloom set); I found it at Anthropologie!

I never thought to add books I would like to have physical copies of! Great idea. I love the new Little Women.:)

Hey! We both had the HP box set on our lists. I have to confess…I ordered it. Not the one with the beautiful spine covers that was in my post, but the version you have pictured. Eeee! Merry Christmas!

Those fairy tale retellings have beautiful covers and were ones I’d not heard of. You’ve got lots of good stuff on your list. I hope Santa is good to you. Merry Christmas!

Great list – a few of these I don’t mind the look of myself! Does remind me that I should probably get my own copy of the Harry Potter books at some point – in the past I’ve just read my mum’s copies.
Merry Christmas!
those are books worth having your own copy of for sure! 🙂
Having your library not carry amazing books is always a little sad… some do take requests, though, or do inter-library loans.
The Bookshop Book sounds like a really interesting read!
my library is great at both of those – request and ILLs. But I figured I would put them on the list anyway 😉
Shucks. Those fairytale retellings.. I need these women in my shelf.
Yes you do!! 😀
The Harry Potter box set! I would love to have that. Most definitely. Great list, Carrie and thank you for stopping by. 🙂
The Harry Potter box set is definitely a great Christmas gift. Great list, Carrie and thank you for stopping by. 🙂
What we really need for Christmas is more time to read! I hope you find some of these under your tree. Merry Christmas! ^.^
Mr Darcy’s Guide to Courtship looks so good! I hope Santa delivers these books to your tree this year! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my TTT 🙂
Ooooohhhhh, yes! The Bookshop Book! How did I never see this one before?!? At least I have it on my TBR now! Just my cup o’ tea! I hope Santa deems you worthy and deserving of all these! Harry Potter…I have read this series 3 times and finally gave my books to my eldest son’s family with 6 children! I can only hope they enjoy them half as much as I did. And I admit that if I was going to splurge on a luxurious gift for myself, it would the hardcover set in the trunk! 🙂 Happy Holidays and Happy Reading!!
I just love the HP books – I think I could read them every year and not get tired of them 🙂 Merry Christmas!!
I adore your list. I want to eventually get a specialized hardback copies of Harry Potter. I have all the regular hard covers and paper copies. But collector editions would make my year. 🙂 Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you too!
Ah, I actually got the Puffin in Bloom boxset this morning for Christmas! They’re so beautiful.
I’m jealous!! 🙂
Gosh, Browsings, Forgotten Bookmarks and How To Be A Heroine all look amazing – thank you for introducing me to these titles!
You are most welcome 🙂
I LOVE your selection! I actually have (had?) Merchant’s Daughter but never realized it was a fairytale retelling!! Oh, that Harry Potter set is gorgeous. 🙂 I also love the cover of Chance of Loving You!
Thanks for swinging by my TTT!
The Merchant’s Daughter is one of my very faves of her books!
I gotta dig it back up from my shelf somewhere to check it out then! 🙂
Yes!!!
Oooh, now that’s a new fairytale-retelling series that I’ve never heard of before this post. Now I’m really curious. 😀 More for the TBR!
They are so wonderful!!
I hope you got Harry Potter!! I totally got those for Christmas from my husband our first Christmas together. He knows I’m a HP nerd 🙂 Hope to one day write blog posts about them all 🙂
Merry Christmas!
Also, thanks for stopping by my post before Christmas–I’m sorry I’m late returning the visit! 🙂
Not a problem – crazy couple of weeks around the holidays 🙂
oh yay! I didn’t get Harry Potter but we did get the illustrated edition so that will suffice 😉
I’m jealous! That edition is SO beautiful!!
It is just GORGEOUS! I preordered it from Amazon before Thanksgiving so I got a great price on it!
Nice! That is awesome! I’d love to own that someday 🙂
