happy birthday pepper

All day today here at Reading Is My SuperPower, I am spotlighting award-winning author Pepper D. Basham and her April contemporary release A Twist of Faith.

Since Pepper is one of my very favorite people in the world and A Twist of Faith is one of my very favorite books, I thought it would be fun to see what some of PEPPER’s favorite things are! So, you know, I asked her 🙂

favorite music.png

Jazz, I’m particularly fond of the ‘classics’ such as Bing Crosby and Ella Fitzgerald, but I enjoy Harry Connick, Jr, Nora Jones, and Michael Buble too

favorite book of Bible

The whole Bible is important, or course, but I’m particularly drawn to the book of Romans. There are verses in there that are like the best editor – they rip you apart and then put you back together again to be even better than you were before.

favorite cartoon

Phineas and Ferb is my favorite cartoon. Followed very quickly by Warner Bros. Bugs Bunny and Scooby Doo.

favorite author

Is that even possible? I have a long list of wonderful authors who I’ve enjoyed and have inspired my writing. From Mary Connealy, Siri Mitchell, Janice Thompson, Beth Pattilo, Ruth Logan Herne, Liz Curtis Higgs, Becky Wade, Julie Lessman, and Denise Hunter, but especially Laura Frantz. Each of these authors have touched and inspired me in a unique way.

favorite hp character.png

Hermione…of course

favorite color

Green – dark, rich green

favorite character.png

Eisley Barrett, hands down! I LOVE her personality and the humor and romance surrounding her story.

(Interviewer’s Note: Eisley Barrett is a character from my absolute fave novel by Pepper Basham.  It’s currently unpublished but hopefully you will get to meet her … and Wes … someday soon!)

favorite classic hero

Mr. Knightley – he’s charming, funny, loyal, and the heroine’s best friend.

favorite place to visit.png

I’m just going to say the United Kingdom. That’s where I want to go and stay a very long time 🙂

favorite dessert.png

Favorite dessert is a tough one. It used to be preacher cookies are my favorite dessert until I created my dark Knight chocolate torte. And it’s become my favorite dessert now

favorite season.png

Fall. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains… of COURSE it’s Fall

favorite free time.png

Um….free time?

Come back in a couple of hours to find out Pepper’s top 10 classic favorite books and 10 things that make her smile.

we should totally tag all those wonderful authors! They are quite inspirational. And we should tag Rachel McMillian just because she’s a MR. KNIGHTLEY fangirl like me 😉

You made me laugh, Pepper, since we have many of the same favorites in common! ? I love dark green, Fall, Phineas and Ferb, and most of the authors that you mentioned. Although, strictly speaking, Jazz is really not my favorite, a bit of it seems to have crept in on me. It began with Bing and continues with Buble. Congratulations on your new book! I shared this post via Facebook and Twitter. ?

Loved the interview! Two of the favorite places I’ve visited are Scotland and Switzerland. I’d love to go back to both of them and explore them more fully. I pretty much love all things chocolate (unfortunately).
