Pepper Basham’s upcoming April release – A Twist of Faith – is a modern take on My Fair Lady with an Appalachian twist.
Reese – the softhearted but thickly accented Appalachian cattle farmer, single dad, great kisser (whew!)
Dee – the sassy buttoned-up professor with a lot to prove whose personality and appearance soften as Reese & his family make their way into her heart
Reese’s kids – oh my stars! The cuteness!!!
Pepper’s writing – I love Pepper’s historicals but I simply ADORE her contemporary novels!! Her turn of a phrase, her witty banter, her insight into the characters’ thoughts, her kissing scenes!! (whew!)
I’ll tell you right now – it ALL makes ME smile!
I asked Pepper for a list of ten things that make HER smile. This is what she said:

This is a new book to add to my list. One of the things I have been living by is faith for the last 5 years. I have been reading encouraging stories about people whose faith changed their life. My favorites are of course Sarah, Ruth and Naomi in the bible.

Thanks!! 🙂
I love the concept behind this book – a reinvention of that classic story.
Also, interesting about Anglophilia – I’m British, so I love my country, but I’m alway surprised when foreigners tell me they love our culture too!
Many thanks to both Carrie and Pepper.
Lydia, Pepper & I could probably listen to you talk all day long 🙂
Lydia, that’s my beautiful, artistic daughter’s name, so I’m extremely partial to it. And your accent 🙂 And your culture! We should probably be friends 😉 Hope you enjoy visiting my Appalachian culture through this book
