Kara Isaac’s Post
Tamara Leigh’s Post
Go ahead and enter at all four places. I’ll wait…. And then come back because we have things to discuss.
Is everyone back? Ok. YAY!!! 😀
Today, to continue with the fangirling theme that our lovely authors discussed in the kickoff post, I want to know which authors (if any) you’ve met!
I’ve only met Laura Frantz in person SO FAR – and she is as sweet and gracious and lovely in real life as you would imagine.
You may notice that I all-caps-shouted SO FAR (oops… there I go again). That’s because (shameless promotion ahead – fair warning) in August in Nashville, I am co-hosting (along with two dear friends – Bonnie Roof and Annie JC) a HUGE author/reader event!!! Speakers – Mary Connealy, Ruth Logan Herne, Julie Lessman, Laura Frantz – praise & worship (of Jesus, not the authors lol), book signings, author panels, speed chats/games, lunch, swag, giveaways, prayer. AHHHHHH!!! I cannot wait!!! There are currently around 35 authors joining us that day – you can check out the full list here. We would love for YOU to join us too! Register today and fangirl flail with all of us in person 🙂
Ok… now back to y’all. Which authors have you met in person? Which authors are still on your bookish bucket list?
I’ve met Lynn Austin and she was soooo nice!
ahhhhhhhhhh!!! I’m so jealous!!
I’ve met Lynn Austin and she was soooo nice! She did a reading from Wonderland Creek *dreamy sigh because it’s Such a good book*. Afterwards I got brave enough to approach her with my writing circle compatriots and….ah…it was great.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh even more jealous now! I LOVE THAT BOOK!
I love her books, Sarah! That’s so cool!
NONE…..BOOHOO! (Oh WAIT…..years ago I met Ted Dekker. I forgot! It was when he had just written “Showdown.”) I read a wide variety of books. It all depends on my mood.
As for authors I’d love to meet: I have many….Lisa T. Bregren, Tamara Leigh, Hillary Manton Lodge (who actually lives somewhere around here.), Susan May Warren, Chautona Having and the list could go on and on! Maybe one day!
Those are all great authors to meet!!!
Carrie,
I forgot the most important author of all……God/Jesus! The GREATEST AUTHOR!
YES!!! Oh, so true, Marylin!! He has written the greatest Story too <3
I haven’t met any of the authors you’ve mentioned. I would love to meet Jan Karon. The only author I’ve met is Marcy Dyer. She is a Christian indie author who writes mysteries. She was also one of my husband’s nurses during his cancer treatments. She lives in my hometown.
I will have to look her up, JJ!
The only authors I have met is my cousin Jamye Clough, She wrote a book about her experience with her mom dying of lung cancer.
i bet that is a powerful book, Jan!
I’ve only met Kristy Cambron and Tamera Alexander (SO FAR- like you, Carrie! CanNOT wait for August and Nashville)! Both were incredibly nice! We went on like we were best friends and we’d only just met! Book people are the BEST people, hehe 🙂
ahhhhhhh I’m jealous of you now too haha!! I live like an hour and a half from Kristy but still haven’t had the opportunity to get to one of her signings. I’m hoping to do so for Ringmaster’s Wife!
When I attended 2 back to back ICRS conventions I met a ton of wonderful authors. I even got to interview them — Liz Curtis Higgs, Deborah Raney, Cynthia Ruchti, Elizabeth Musser, Brandilyn Collins and Kathi Macias among them. I also met 2 “new” authors — Suzanne Woods Fisher and Ginny Yttrup. I stood in line with Suzanne for a book signing. Yeah, authors can fangirl too! My book clubs hosted Tracy Groot and Lisa Wingate for author meet and greets and I was the contact person. Very cool to get a chance to meet the real person.
oh wow! You have met some wonderful authors!!
I’ve met Lynne Gentry. I would love to meet Lynn Austin, Kristy Cambron, Dawn Crandall, Ronie Kendig, Laura Frantz, Ted and Rachelle Dekker, Tosca Lee and many more… 😉
oh yes – me too!! All of those except Laura Frantz whom I’m already met 😉 But I will always hang out with Laura at every available opportunity!
I met Mary Alice Monroe last week at a signing. Would love to be able to meet some of the authors that you mention in this post.
wouldn’t that be fun?!? 🙂
I’ve met exactly zero authors….haha! Would love to meet them ALL!! Can’t just pick one 🙂
Haha! Me too!
I haven’t met any authors that I can recall. I would love to meet Becky Wade, Melissa Tagg, Tamara Alexander…. Way too many to name!
I have not met any authors in person YET!!! I can not WAIT to meet everyone in Nashville!!! Fangirl OVERLOAD!
Laura Frantz, Kristy Cambron, Sarah Ladd, Julie Klassen, Liz Curtis Higgs are the fiction authors I’ve met. Can’t wait to meet many more in August.
I’m jealous!!!
I haven’t met any authors, except a brand new one – P J Youngblood; and a really old one – Marilyn Quayle. I would love to meet Susan May Warren, Colleen Coble, Belle Calhoune, Denise Hunter, Francine Rivers, Gene Woods, and – oh dear – the list is endless!!!
ooo i’d love to meet all of those too! Gene Woods will be at our event in August in Nashville!
