Posted May 29, 2016 by meezcarrie in Becky Wade, Christian, contemporary, giveaway, romance / 75 Comments

LAST DAY to enter the Readers Appreciation Giveaway put together by 10 of your fave authors!  Today Becky Wade closes out the event with a message for her readers.

I love that we’ve set aside a whole week for reader appreciation!  I’m so, so thankful to you, Christian fiction readers.  Every time I’m struggling with my writing, I receive an email or a message or a tweet from one of you delivering encouragement.  It never fails!  Every time.

You make me smile with your social media friendship, you loan my books to your friends, you tell your librarian about me, you answer my requests for input, you pass out bookmarks, you read my blog posts, you LIFT ME UP.

Without you, no other piece of the publishing world would exist.  So thank you.  A bouquet of thank yous.  A two pound box of chocolates full of thank yous!!

XO XO, Becky

I’ve had so much fun hosting this Readers Appreciation Giveaway & hearing from all of the authors!! Someone will win the giveaway sooooooon and one of the books included in the giveaway is Becky’s latest novel, Her One and Only.

Gray Fowler, star NFL tight end, is being pursued by a stalker, so his team hires a protection agency to keep Gray under the watch of a bodyguard at all times. When Gray meets Dru Porter, an agent assigned to him, he’s indignant. How can an attractive young female half his size possibly protect him?

But Dru’s a former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt. She’s also ferociously determined to uncover the identity of Gray’s stalker. And she’s just as determined to avoid any kind of romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past.

But the closer they get to finding the stalker, the closer they grow to each other.

As the danger rises, can Dru and Gray entrust their hearts–and their lives–to one another?

I am so excited about these books. Now to find away to read them all. I might actually have to buy them on my kindle if I can not find them in the store here in Utah.

  2. Bree Herron

I have had most if not all of these authors in my TBR list. It has been wonderful to meet authors this way and hear about their works. Becky, what is your favorite theme to include in your books, do you write more focused on athletes?

    • Hi, Bree! I try to hammer each of my books’ themes down into three words or less. So, for My Stubborn Heart the theme was healing. Undeniably Yours — growing stronger. Meant to Be Mine — forgiveness. A Love Like Ours — finding hope. Her One and Only — letting go. That said, the overarching theme that I love to write about MOST, the one you’ll find in every single one of my books is *second chances*. I never get tired of celebrating the second chances that God extends to flawed people through grace. 🙂

  3. I can’t wait to meet Becky this summer at the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat! So sad to see this week of Readers Appreciation come to an end, but it was soooo much fun reading all the authors’ comments. Thanks to all who put this together, authors and Carrie!

  4. Angela Burton

I bought your book and I am just waiting for a free moment to read it. I have read all your other ones and loved them.

    • Thanks for reading my books, Angela!! I’m so happy to hear that you’ve loved my others. I sincerely hope you’ll feel the same way about Gray and Dru’s story.

  5. Marylin Furumasu

I have enjoyed reading your books and I look forward to reading more.
I have to tell you, I woke up this morning and told my husband that I had an interesting dream last night. I got a txt and call from an author I like. She wanted to meet me. He and I laughed because it was so out there…..well..when I sat down to read this blog, I about fell out of my chair. The author from my dreams was you! How strange is that! Too funny!??

  6. Marylin Furumasu

I wanted to tell you I would love to do all the things for this giveaway, but I don’t have a Twitter account.
I’ve enjoyed reading all about these wonderful authors!
Thanks for putting this on, now I have more authors to read!

    • Carrie

that’s ok, Marylin! I tried to have a variety of options so even people without twitter could get a lot of entries 🙂

Carrie and authors, thank you for this wonderful week! I am grateful for AMAZING Christian authors! You are a blessing! Thank you for this generous giveaway. 🙂

  8. Her One and Only is the first of Becky’s books I’ve read and I’m in love! So excited to read all about the Porter family in the previous books of the series.
Carrie, well done on this huge, fun giveaway week!

  9. Deanna

Wow, what an awesome giveaway, thanks for hosting it, Carrie! And Becky, I already told you on your Facebook page that I read this book in one day, finishing as my husband was driving us to his parents house! This was a GREAT book (I love ALL of yours) and I would LOVE to win this giveaway! Thank you both for the opportunity!

  10. Andrea Stephens

    Hi Becky!
I have to say I’m sorry 🙁 I somehow missed book 3 of the Porter Family and now you have book 4. I need to catch up.
Thank you for writing wonderful books and thank you for putting up with wayward readers like me who missed a couple.

  11. Rachael Merritt

Been fun…..great giveaways! 🙂 Great job Carrie. Thanks to Becky Wade and all the authors who participated!

  12. Winnie Thomas

Hi Becky! I’m anxious to read your book. It’s on my TBR list for sure. I’ve been hoping to win a copy 🙂 , but so far I haven’t lucked out :(. I’ve read some of your other books and loved them, so I know this one will be fabulous, too. It’s been so much fun “meeting” all of you wonderful, talented, generous authors. And many thanks to Carrie for hosting this fun giveaway! It’s been an enormous undertaking for you in addition to all the other things you do! Hugs to you!!

  13. Pam K.

One of the books I read recently was Her One and Only. I bought it for myself for Mother’s Day; I just had to read this last book in the Porter family series. If you haven’t read these four books, go get them! It was kind of sad to know it was the last in the series, but otherwise delightful to read. If you are new to Becky’s books, don’t forget to read My Stubborn Heart. It doesn’t have anything to do with the Porters but is also a very excellent book.
Thanks, Carrie, for this fun week of meeting with all these fabulous authors.

  14. Confession: My Stubborn Heart was one of the first Contemporary Christian books I was really able to sink into! Before that, I read mostly Historical Fiction and Biographies. How crazy is that for a CCR writer? Now I read all over the board, but I still love that book! 🙂

  15. Cynthia Adams

Which fangirl would I be most like? Pepper Basham. I would be a flailing mess around my favorite authors. Lol

  16. I am SO ashamed I haven’t read this title yet. *insert embarrassed face here* 😉 But I WILL read it because YOU. ARE. FAB. <3

  17. Cynthia Adams

I can’t wait to read this book! I enjoy following your posts and look forward to seeing the contests between you and Katie Ganshert.

  18. Becky Smith

I now have a small “mountain” of TBR books!!! But this one is definitely there! I loved the others in this series.

  19. Patty

I’ve always been a historical fiction fan, but My Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade introduced me to the world of contemporary inspy fiction! I am forever in her debt=)

  20. Donna B

I can hardly wait to read this book! I’ve seen it reviewed and it looks like a great one! Thanks for this great giveaway!! I’ve had fun learning about some new to me authors and their books.

  21. Hannah

Seriously loved this book! When it was over I felt the odd need to just go back to the beginning and read it again! Thank you so much! I’m a big fan of yours. Can’t wait to see what you write next 🙂

  22. Elizabeth

I LOVED the first three books in the Porter family series and was planning to buy “Her One and Only” this weekend to read tomorrow since I’m off since I know I’ll have trouble putting it down, but neither of the local bookstores had it in stock! I’m hoping that’s a sign that I’m going to win it. 🙂

  23. Justina Wilson

So excited about this! I have not read anything by Becky Wade so look forward to it.

  24. Such a sweet note to your fans Becky. When you find an author you love it is easy to tell others about them. It just comes naturally.

  25. Hayley

I’m a huge fan of the Christian romance books. I got really busy with kids and didn’t pick a up a book for many years. Last summer I decided to make time and I almost always have a book in my hands.

  26. Suz

Having not had the opportunity to read all of these yet, I can not say which I would be most like. I am however looking forward to the opportunity to reading them. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  27. Ellen Gray

I have loved all your books so far and can’t wait to read this new one! Thanks for writing and giving me something to look forward to.

  28. Trixi

Hi Becky! I’m loathe to admit that I haven’t read any of the Porter family series of books, though I have “A Love Like Ours” on my shelf. I hope that redeems me in your eyes somehow…lol! I’m the type of person who loves to have ALL the books in a series and read them in order until the last one 🙂 I do so admire/love/adore family series books. It’s like they’ve become my own second family 🙂 I always hate seeing it come to an end!

I really have heard such high praise for your books & I do promise to join into the Porter family soon!! *Sigh*

  29. Megan

I can’t even begin to know what I would do if I met my favorite authors in person. Becky, thank you for writing such amazing books. ?

  30. Sonnetta Jones

I have been waiting for Dru’s story. I cannot wait for this one. It almost feel like I have to create the environment to read it.
