Top Ten Tuesday: Cover Love

Top Ten Tuesday Favorite

This week on Top Ten Tuesday, the powers that be over at The Broke & The Bookish encouraged us to go back and do one of their suggested topics that we missed the first time around. The one that jumped out at me was “Favorite Covers” as I really do often gravitate toward books based on their covers.

Now, have I loved books with covers that didn’t grab me? Yes. Absolutely. And that has helped break my “judging a book by its cover” tendencies. BUT … I will probably still always impulse buy/read a book solely based on the cover. It’s a book nerd thing, I think.

Cover Love

I’ve divided my list today into categories based on prominent features of the covers … and I’m just warning y’all now. There’s way way WAY more than 10 books here. If that bothers you… well… you need to loosen up a bit ๐Ÿ˜‰

Even with way way WAY more than 10 books, there’s no way to include all the covers I love in one post. I know I’ve left some out. If you don’t see your fave cover here, it doesn’t mean I don’t love it … it just means I ran out of room! ๐Ÿ˜€

Clicking on the covers will take you to Amazon (affiliate links used … doesn’t affect your cost at all).

cover love cute together

This section is all about couples – from the adorable to the sweet to the get-a-fan!

everlasting love

cover love single ladies

This section features our lovely heroines, all the single ladies as it were.

cover love be my hero

ย Get your fans out and prepare to swoon over these hunky heroes!

(a hero on the cover is rare in Christian fiction; this category took me much longer to compile than the others. And not because I had to drool over each one. Of course not.)

(sorry… couldn’t resist that last one lol)

cover love draw it out

This is maybe my favorite section – the illustrated covers!

cover love off with their heads

Also known as … what happens when a toddler gets ahold of your camera ๐Ÿ˜‰ But in these cases, this particular strategy really really works!

cover love look away

These cover models may be a bit shy but the finished results are gorgeous!

cover love picturesque

My last category is for those covers that aren’t so much about the characters but the settings or the mood.

Whew! This post wore me out lol! But aren’t they so pretty?!?!?! I LOVE BOOK COVERS!!! And in case this wasn’t enough of a selection for you, hop over to Pinterest and check out my Cover Love board!

What about you? What are some of your favorite covers? Let me know!

Okay I love Cindy Roland Andersons covers. Always girls legs with heels. O, my daughters love her shoes choice.
    Next Denise Hunters Cowboys series.
    Then Becky Wade covers.
O, also Traci Hunter Abramson covers.
To bad I can’t figure out how to post the pictures.

  2. Awww, Drew is so pleased to be included. (Admit it now, isn’t the “Mikado” cover to die for? My absolute favorite! Drew in a tux? Come on!)

I love bookcovers, too. The cutest I think is “Meant to be Mine.” Isn’t that just the most darling expression on her face? And, even though I’m not that into contemporaries, I can’t wait for “Can’t Help Falling.” Lovely cover. Intriguing premise.

Tons of beautiful covers out there. Hats off to so many talented designers. ๐Ÿ˜€

I heart the Mikado cover!!! So yummy!!!! And yes, the Meant to Be Mine cover is just the cutest – it always makes me smile ๐Ÿ™‚

Carrie, for an elementary teacher and ESL teacher, etc. you sure are creative with your counting. I don’t think the number of covers you posted is anywhere in the vicinity of 10. Not even close! But I’m hanging loose here as you suggested.

Okay, my faves are A Twist of Faith, A Worthy Heart by Susan Anne Mason (and the other two shown), Dawn Crandall’s Everstone Chronicles (all of them), The Lady and the Lionheart, Kara Isaac’s Close to You and Can’t Help Falling, Melissa Tagg’s Keep Holding On and Like Never Before, the Victoria Bylin covers you listed, Amber Lynn Perry’s (I think I read that she is the model on her covers). Okay, I can’t count, either! Oh, there are so many beautiful ones! You did a good job, Carrie. And yes, I’m sure I’ve missed some of my favorites, too.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have been known to order print copies of books that have covers I love, even though I have a perfectly good Kindle copy. There’s just something about being able to hold it in your hands and look at it and feel it and drool (or swoon) over it! ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. Rebecca Maney

You have so many of my favorites posted. May I add two more, “The Pursuit of Tamsen Littlejohn” by Lori Benton, and “The Lost Heiress” by Roseanna White. I love some of Susan May Warren’s Christiansen family series covers.

  5. Ah! Bridge of Faith is one of my favorite covers! I think it just fits the story perfectly! I really like the cover we ended up with for The Things We Knew, too. It’s very summery and Nantucketish. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am drawn to covers, but it’s really the back cover copy and recommendations that get me to pick a book when I’m not familiar with the author.

  6. What an honor to have every single one of my books included! Thanks so much, Carrie! I absolutely LOVE them too! And I love that Violet is next to Carl from A Noble Groom on the share graphic! Oh my, do I adore that cover AND that book… AND that kiss! Whoo! โค๏ธ

    • Carrie

I simply couldn’t choose between your covers so I had to include them all LOL. And yes, I thought you (and Violet) might enjoy that graphic placement haha! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. I love this! So many gorgeous covers. I love how you grouped them together, too. I love the couple ones. I work in a library, and we were talking about doing a display called “Off With Their Heads” featuring books where the cover model’s head isn’t visible. I love that you have a topic here for it!

  8. I just LOVE Katherine Reay everything, and I’ve just delved into Melanie Dickerson’s books recently. So these covers are great, and I just might be swooning over Cold Shot by Dani Pettrey right now.

But I love foodie fiction covers, too. Let Them Eat Cake by Sandra Byrd (the first cover, I think) has three little cakes lined up, and I picked it off the shelf because of the food. Yup. Food gets me Every Time.

  9. Thanks for including my handsome hero from Through the Shadows! I’ve got to admit, I squealed when I first opened that image from my publisher. My second reaction was, “Can we DO that it Christian fiction? Put a man on the cover?!” I do think he’s helped sales, LOL! Abindgon did a fantastic job with all of my covers. I actually think my favorite was my debut, Mistaken. It’s got such beautiful colors and a mysterious vibe. I loved it.

Another gorgeous book cover hero was Ronie Kendig’s Raptor Six. Wowza!

    • Carrie

LOL oh yes! I bet he did help haha!! I need to check out Mistaken – I don’t think I’ve tracked that one down yet… must do so ASAP ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. So glad u included Sarah Minzon’s The Issac Project. Truly a favorite of mine. I love the cover to Julie Lessman’s A Passion Most Pure and Rita Gerlach’s After the Rain. Leaving out the Raptor Six cover is gross negligence! LOL!

  11. carylkane

These covers are GORGEOUS! I really like Dawn Crandall and Pepper Basham. I love the silhouettes of Rachael McMillan’s books.

Carrie, you have excellent taste! *wink*

  12. Illustrated covers are also my favorite! I also like some of the Penguin Modern Classics covers, like Wild Sargasso Sea and Tender is the Night.:)

  13. Carrie, this post! You are my book blogger heroine!!! Fabulous!!! #bestillmynerdgirlheart most definitely applies here!!!

I love all of the above plus Lori Benton’s Path Finders series, Mesu Andrews’s Treasures of the Nile series, Rebecca DeMarino’s The Southold Chronicles, oh mercy I just want to hug all the pretty books!
