gift-ideas-for-the-bookworm

There are 8 weeks until Christmas.  More appropriately, there are only a few days until my birthday 😀 Either day sends people scurrying to come up with what to get a bookworm! (Other than books, of course. And Amazon gift cards.)  Ok… so maybe Christmas IS the bigger gift-buying occasion here.

Regardless, in case you are fresh out of ideas for the bookworm in your life (or yourself!), here are a few of my faves from around the creative webs. (BONUS: Stay tuned for an awesome prize pack giveaway as well as exclusive coupon codes for my readers!!)

All of the items mentioned in this post are a) ones I also personally own, b) from shops of which I am a frequent customer myself and/or c) from shops that have come highly recommended. However, I am not an affiliate of any of these shops and these recommendations are purely because I love the product and want you be aware of them!

for-the-austenite

Any Jane Austen fans out there? It is a truth universally acknowledged that a bookworm in search of an Austen-related gift (or film adaptation) doesn’t have to look very far.  And yet, we can’t get enough. Here are a couple of my favorites:

pandp-page-flags

Pride & Prejudice Classic Character Page Flags from Girl Of All Work, $6.50

Are these not adorable? If you’re a book blogger like me and like to use page flags to mark sections of the book you want to consider when you write your review, you might as well get a smile out of it at the same time. And if you’re not a book blogger, well… everyone needs a smile now and then.  Girl of All Work also sells the classic character page flags for Romeo & Juliet, Alice In Wonderland, The Great Gatsby, Little Women, Jane Eyre, and The Wizard of Oz.

if-i-loved-you-less

notecards

The Jane Austen Collection from Books and Beverages – The Shoppe!

I’m pretty sure that my house could be an annex of The Shoppe, as I love everything new that Jamie adds! These Jane Austen prints and matching notecards are gorgeous and include some of the best Austen quotes. The 5×7 prints come matted 8×10 final size and they are sold individually for $12.00 each. Choose from “If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more” (MR KNIGHTLEY! I LOVE!) or “I cannot fix on the hour or the spot or the look or the words which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew I had begun” or “But for my own part, if a book is well written I always find it too short.” The set of notecards comes with all 3 quotes (and envelopes) for $12.00.

EXCLUSIVE COUPON CODE!!! Books and Beverages – The Shoppe! has a great variety of products for book bloggers, book worms, and Narnia and Tolkien fans as well! Use coupon code SUPERPOWER25 for 25% off everything!!

for-the-narnian

Maybe C.S. Lewis is more your speed than Jane Austen (or, like me, you love both!) Never fear! There are a plethora of really cool Narnia-themed gifts to choose from, enough to fill – say – a wardrobe. Along with what The Shoppe carries (which are in my annex/house), I really must have these:

courage-dear-heart

Courage, Dear Heart necklace from literatelion, $25.00

This beautiful artisan copper handhammered necklace depicts one of my favorite quotes from The Chronicles of Narnia, found in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. You can choose from a variety of chains or leather – or even purchase it as a keychain if you’d rather.

EXCLUSIVE COUPON CODE!!! Literatelion also makes other Narnia/Lewis pieces as well as jewelry with scripture and encouragement. She also does custom pieces at your request. Use coupon code SUPERPOWER for $5 off a purchase!

narnia-pillow-cover

Narnia pillow cover from Peppermint Creek Prints, $36.00

We’re getting ready to turn our office/spare room into a reading room and I’m pretty sure I MUST add this to the window seat I’m planning. If a pillow isn’t your thing though, it also comes in a tote, a print, and a duvet cover. 🙂 Now this is just the cover, not the insert, but those can be picked up at any home/craft store. It comes in 16×16, 18×18, and 20×20 – as well as your choice of white (as pictured) or black.

EXCLUSIVE COUPON CODE!!! Peppermint Creek Prints has over 150 items for you to choose from, including a line geared toward any Pumpkin Spice Latte enthusiasts 🙂 Use coupon code ASLAN15 to save 15% on any one item in her shop!

aslan-is-on-the-move

Aslan Is On the Move wooden sign from Orchard House Signs, $22.00

This is another item I’m pretty sure I absolutely need in my reading room. Doesn’t that quote give you fellow Narnia-fans a bookishly giddly thrill? This shop actually has a whole bevy of signs I want, with some Harry Potter items, a Spare Oom sign, Scripture verses, a Corrie Ten Boom quote, Anne of Green Gables items. They even have some Dr. Who related signs for my friends who are fans! 🙂

for-the-bookish

So maybe you’re not all that into Narnia or Jane Austen either, but you do love to read! Or you know someone who does and are trying to figure out what in the world to buy for them this year. (Again, besides the obvious answer: BOOKS) I’ve got you covered here too!

bookish-candle-set

Bookish-Type Candle Set from Novelly Yours, $11.00 for 4, 2 oz candles

Like Books and Beverages – The Shoppe!, I’m pretty sure my house could be another showroom for Novelly Yours’ products. I have a very difficult time resisting the adorable tins and the names/colors. In this particular set (my personal favorite), you get Shipping It (for those romantic pairings you love), Villainous (which is this great swirly black and greenish), Currently Reading (besides being one of my fave scents, it makes a great prop for bookstagramming lol), and – my very fave candle name EVER – Book Boyfriend (which you may or may not get caught holding to your nose for a dreamy inhale from time to time.)

EXCLUSIVE COUPON CODE!!! Novelly Yours has so many fantastic candles (in varying sizes) and wax melts! Disney-inspired (Beast’s Library anyone?) as well as seasonal scents share the store with literature-themed candles based on books such as the Harry Potter series, The Lunar Chronicles, The Selection series, and more! Use coupon code READINGSUPERPOWER to take 15% off any order of $10 or more. (Coupon valid through Christmas Day 2016)

booknerd-pzh-bags

#booknerd tote from CreateExploreRead, $18.00

Just like we can never have enough books – or bookshelves – bookworms can never have enough totes. Particularly if they are bookish totes. I personally love the #booknerd line from CreateExploreRead because … well… we might as well embrace it, right? The #booknerd design also comes in a whole range of items to suit your fancy in addition to the tote! Never let anyone doubt again that the booknerd is strong within you!

noveltea-tins-in-library

NovelTea Tins Original Collection from NovelTea Tins, starting at $24.00

“Literally Delicious, Treat YourShelf to the tea with a novel twist, NovelTeas” Now, I myself am not a tea drinker but my husband is. And I find it impossible to resist tea in tins that are called such delightful names as “The Picture of Earl Grey” and “War and Peach” and – my personal favorite – “Don Quixotea” (by Miguel de Cervan’Teas of course … and tea called “Man of La Manchai” to boot).

You are a fun and creative lady, my friend! What an awesome giveaway! Pick me, pick me *waving arms*! I actually also love Amazon gift cards, so I can buy books that I’m coveting.

    • Carrie

LOL Yes – me too! But then I freeze up and feel like this is an uber-important decision and what if I buy the wrong thing? And so it takes me forever to make a decision lol

      • Terrill Rosado

Carrie – I AM THE SAME!! It ends up being an all-day research session to make the best decision. haha

      • Winnie Thomas

I have been known to order my own Amazon gift card complete with a birthday cupcake tin, just so I know I’ll be excited for my birthday to come (it’s not so fun anymore when you’re as old as I am). I make sure that the amount on it is suitably hefty that I can order several things without me having to stress about it! LOL Sure beats getting a hedge trimmer, which is what my hubs told me he was getting for me. He actually got one, but I told him that since I couldn’t actually use it (too hard on my arthritic hands), he couldn’t count it for my b-day! 😀

          • Winnie Thomas

Well, in his defense–we were always borrowing a hedge trimmer from a neighbor to trim our two arctic willows, which grow super fast. We want to keep them more shrub-size. So now we have a hedge trimmer, but we’ve found it’s useful to cut down the flowers after they’ve died for the winter and a few other things around the yard. I guess it will be worth it. You’d think after this long, he’d realize that men love their tool toys, but women–not so much! No vacuums, no pots and pans, no hedge trimmers!! 😀

  2. Terrill Rosado

I’m the biggest book nerd in my life, unfortunately 🙂 I love it all, but I can’t justify purchasing gifts for myself this time of year.

Pride and Prejudice was the book I read at age 15 and started my love for romantic comedy and romance fiction, in general. If being a JA fan wasn’t so “trendy” right now, I would jump all over that stuff, but I’m kind of stubborn and snobby that way. haha Instead, I would really enjoy the Aslan sign. It’s unique and also been on my wishlist for over a year. I might just have to put it on my own Christmas list.

  3. Sonnetta Jones

The courage necklace is whispering my name but I will have to ignore. I am going to Costa Rica for a 2 week volunteer trip in March.

  4. Susan

Wow! I personally would love any these. I am pretty sure my daughter would as well. Great Christmas ideas for the one who is setting up her own apartment soon. Thanks for the suggestions.

  5. Pam K.

I’ll have to spend some time exploring these sites. Thanks for letting us know about them and for the great giveaway.

  6. Connie Saunders

I love them all and I probably couldn’t hear to part with any of them. Does this make me a bad person? ?

  7. My daughter loves bookish items! Last year we got her wings on Etsy (to go with the Maximum Ride series). This year, it might be something Greek goddish!

  8. Michelle Connell

If learning about books wasn’t bad enough…these all look great for my writer friends or myself…

How long are the coupons good for, I can’t shop quite yet.

    • Carrie

the only one with a restriction is the one good through Christmas Day… the others didn’t put a timeframe on them 🙂

  9. Debbie Clatterbuck

While I am a bracelet person, my youngest daughter loves necklaces. So I would give her the necklace for Christmas and keep the rest for me. Thanks for the awesome giveaway and good luck everyone.

  10. Katherine Good

I really like the bag and the cards are pretty! Whenever an author asks about swag, I always promote bags! I have no problem being a walking advertisement for a favorite author.

  11. How is it I’ve never stumbled across your blog before? You’re a Books & Beverages fan! I’ve bought several things from her shoppe, including a Jane Austen print, which I gave a friend as a wedding gift. I had no idea she had notecards now — whether I win the giveaway or not, I WILL own those.

  12. Brenda W

For my Wish list, I would like the Page Flags. For my gift list, the book bag would be neat for my cousin who reads.

  13. Connie Tillman

The book nerd tote – I would give that to my 15 year old daughter – she is a huge book nerd. She goes to her library at school at least 2-3 times a week. All of these are super cute!

  14. Becky

I would add the Jane Austen 5×7 and the note cards. I would also add the Courage, dear heart necklace!
PS: I like the tote too! 🙂

  15. Andrea Stephens

Definitely the book bag. I know a few people that could use that. I can’t have candles in my house anymore, but my sister might like one or two.
Thanks for the ideas and discount codes.

*I don’t know how I missed this post. I usually see all your posts. I’m glad you had the reminder on FLF.

  16. Becky Smith

What fun!!! I would like to add ALL of these to my wish list and will look into buying these for gifts. I always need stocking ideas. Thanks, Carrie!

  17. Bonnie Roof

I love it all, but am particularly drawn to the book tea tins!! Thanks to you and the contributors for the ideas, the discounts, and the giveaway opportunities!!

  18. Cyndi

Ahhh… I love it all!! The notecards will most likely be coming home with me with the “courage. dear heart” necklace an extremely close second! What a great giveaway! Thanks!

  19. Amy Putney

Um, can I have ALL of it? Haha! If I had to pick just one… the “Courage, Dear Heart” necklace! I LOOOOVE it!
