I – [I am] inspired by my reader’s interaction.

~ Stephenia H. McGee

V – Voracious (yes, I realize this is an adjective and not a noun). I am thankful for the voracious readers of Christian fiction. You who devour the words God puts on our hearts to write and then encourage us in our unique and nontraditional calling of spreading God’s love and message of redemption through story. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

~ Sarah Monzon

E –  I love my readers, because they are so encouraging. In person or via email, in reviews or through Facebook messages, readers have encouraged me in countless ways. When I get discouraged and wonder why I’m pouring my heart into words on a screen, I remember my readers. My readers are why I write.

~ Robin Patchen

A – Anticipation. I’m so grateful for the way readers encourage me with their anticipation. Knowing that readers are waiting expectantly for that next book–really, for more story about characters they love–pushes me to do my best and take seriously this calling as a writer.

~ Sondra Kraak

joanne-bischof  joanne-bischof

N – The word that came to me is “new” because I am so thankful to readers who are willing to take a chance on a new-to-them writer. It’s a brave risk, and it so blesses us authors.

~ Joanne Bischof

jennifer-rodewald  jennifer rodewald

K – K is for Kindness…I am so thankful for the kind hearts who have welcomed me and the stories I come with into their reading hearts. On the whole, the community of readers who have embraced me have been uber encouraging, bringing joy to my introverted heart, and giving me courage to continue to write. Thank you!

~ Jennifer Rodewald

janet ferguson  janet-ferguson

S – I’m giving thanks today about being here with these fabulous Christian authors! Thank you, Carrie, for hosting us as we praise our Lord for all the good things He has done. I love that I have the letter S. I went a little crazy with my idea. If you give a writer a letter… I’m so thankful for my Savior, the Son of the Living God, who loved us so much He sacrificed Himself and sealed us with His Spirit for our Salvation. He tends us gently as His beloved sheep, rejoices over us with singing, and makes His face to shine upon us. In return, I will take up His Sword which is His precious Word, and the shield of faith and do my best to be salt and light to a hurting world.

~ Janet Ferguson

  1. Love love love this! I am thankful for authors’ talent in writing stories that inspire, encourage and entertain us! Yay! Now I need Mr. Rafflecopter to choose me! *wink wink

  2. Debbie Clatterbuck

I am thankful for authors’ ability to take me to another time when I wish I had been born then. People stuck it out and mostly stayed together. Longer than they do today. I love to get away from it all in a book. Thank you authors for all your hard work. Thanks for the giveaway and good luck everyone.

  3. I am thankful that they work so hard to keep ahead of readers’ voracious book appetite – and for providing me a way to travel the world, or back in time, or into the future without leaving my home.

  4. Carol Kelley

Thank you for the opportunity to win these wonderful books by such great authors. I love Christian fiction and am thankful for the authors who write them. Inspirational, uplifting stories about people putting their trust in God and overcoming life circumstances.

  5. Anne Rightler

Being one of those voracious readers Sarah mentioned, I am so thankful for authors who write books that are uplifting, inspirational, fun, suspensful, and sometimes even with a kissing factor of 10++ without all the ugliness of being “R” rated. I am thankful that when I read books by authors who honor God in their writing I can often come away thinking, how I wish God would talk to me that way and I want to know Him better so I can hear His voice. Ladies, thank you so much.
And I am hoping the great and powerful Rafflecopter picks me…

  6. I am very thankful for the abundance of Christian writers out there. The more I get to know these folks and their works – and their readers (like you!), themore I realize how much I am blessed by the community of Christian Fiction.

Thanks for hosting the giveaway, Carrie. So many lovely titles, and some I am unfamiliar with. My favorite part of this post is the personalization given by the authors with their photos and their words.

    • Carrie

The community of Christian fiction is one of the best there is! I strongly believe this 🙂 So glad you enjoyed this post, Dawn – thanks for the kind words!

    • Janet Ferguson

Hi Dawn!! I feel so blessed to meet readers of Christian fiction! I love talking about books and how they’ve influenced hearts ❤️❤️
      Blessings

  7. Donna B

I am thankful for all of the great Christian authors that write books for us to enjoy reading. I usually get lost in becoming one of the characters in the story and everything else is put on hold. I didn’t use to like to read historical fiction but I love it now! Thanks to all of you for writing inspiring and uplifting stories. We need more Godliness and happiness in this world! Thanks for this great giveaway!! I’m looking forward to reading these books!

  8. Patty

I’m so thankful that these authors share their gifts and talents with us. I know most of them don’t to make a living writing, so the time they take to write and publish books is much appreciated!

  9. Andrea Stephens

I am thankful for the multitude of Christian authors! They write good Faith filled books and characters in a marketplace filled with so many other things. I am thankful to see more Faith-based books on the shelves of mainstream stores (there aren’t as many as I would like but at least some are making it). I remember a time when you could only get Christian books from a catalog or a Christain bookstore if you were lucky enough to live near one.
I am thankful for Christian authors that take time out of their lives to connect with their readers, on blogs such as this SuperPower one, Facebook, and other social media.
I am thankful for Christain authors that give away books in contests, FB parties, on blogs, or just because. I am also thankful for those people that host those contests and blogs, and Facebook parties.

  10. Anne

Wonderful authors whose books give me enjoyment, hope and are able to transport me to another place, era and realm.

  11. Susanne

I am thankful for Christian authors willing to use scripture & give a message of hope through their writing. 🙂

  12. Amanda J.

This is phenomenal! I feel like that little kid squirming saying,”Ooo…ooo…pick me! Pick me!”
I love Anne Rightler’s comment above- all the good stuff without the R junk. That’s how I feel about Christian fiction. And the more I read author interviews, the more thankful I am to know these writers SOUGHT the Lord in their writing!

  13. Rebecca Maney

Wow Carrie, I see some of my favorite back-cover-faces in this giveaway. How special is that? I am very thankful for folks who use their God-given talents to put their thoughts on the page, because I sure love to read them!

  14. Joan Arning

I am so thankful for the variety of Christian fiction available today. I am an avid reader. I am old enough that I remember when the only Christian fiction author was Grace Livingston Hill and Christian fiction was not readily available. Today we all have access to a variety of clean reading.

    • Carrie

I grew up reading Grace Livingston Hill too – and Janette Oke – and while I still enjoy their books I too LOVE the variety!!! Such a wealth of talent at our fingertips!

    • Janet Ferguson

      Hi Joan!
I’m so excited about how the market has grown, too! I pray that it gets even stronger!!
      Blessings

  15. I’m thankful for authors who share their faith with us, encourage us, and challenge us through Christian fiction! Those are some beautiful books straight from my wishlist, Carrie!!! How did you know? 😉

  16. Jordann Langness

I am thankful for the ability of authors to transport me to a different time and place. They not only make me feel like I’m observing the story, but actually make me feel like I’m living the story! Reading is my most favorite thing to do and that is all due to the fantastic authors! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  17. Winnie Thomas

I’m so thankful that there are sooooo many amazing Christian fiction writers to choose from–so many that my TBR list is maxed out and overflowing. I’m thankful to them for sharing their time and talents and for being willing to interact on social media with their adoring fans.

I’m also thankful to Carrie for introducing us to new-to-me authors and books and for being such an awesome promoter of books, authors, and reading! Hugs, BFFF

  18. I am thankful that authors take the time to put their thoughts to paper and then so generously share them with us, giving us a chance to escape into another world for a little while and maybe even learn a little something about ourselves through the characters we read about.

    • Julie,
I learn something about myself from characters I write and from ones I read. I so loved Hadassah from Francine Rivers’ Mark of the Lion Series. I wanted to be like her. I met Francine at a writers conference last year and told her that. She said she wanted to be like Hadassah, too!

  19. Julie, we also escape while writing! That’s what’s so much fun. I spend hours at a time in a plantation home in the old South…and then suddenly it’s time to make hubby and two little boys supper back in the 21st century! ?

  20. Beth

I am thankful for author’s sharing their hearts through their writing, also for those who choose to write outside of the box 🙂

  21. Beth

I am thankful for author’s sharing their hearts through their writing, and for a willingness to be vulnerable. I know that takes courage!

  28. Pam K.

Besides the obvious answer that I’m thankful for their books, I’m also thankful that so many authors take time to connect with their readers on Facebook, blogs, book signings, and even Skyping or in person with our book clubs. It’s really nice to have that personal connection. They aren’t just a name on a book.

  29. Terrill Rosado

Throughout my lifetime, I have read many different genres with Christian and non-Christian selections. I am most thankful for the faith thread that I can rely on within most Christian author’s books. 33. Jordan Sims

I’m thankful for authors who are willing to be vulnerable in order to share stories that reach deep into our hearts and point us to Christ.

    • Hi Jordan!
Authors are vulnerable sometimes. I shared about my anxiety disorder with readers of Leaving Oxford. I’ve met so many readers who can relate, though, so I feel okay with sharing that 🙂
      Blessings

    • Thank you, Jordan. In my Ironwood series God called me to open up some issues that were very deep and painful for me. He wanted me to show His love even through those painful times. He has blessed that effort, and having readers tell me that the story touched them has meant the world to me. It is one of the many ways He brings beauty from ashes (the theme for those books).

  34. Cheryl Baranski

Love that authors write books for me to enjoy especially when I am having a rough day pain wise with my RA.

I’m thankful to God for gifting these authors with such incredible writing talent, and to them for following His plan for their lives as writers. Christian Fiction is truly a gift God has given to readers – one that educates, entertains, and inspires. It educates me re more of life’s struggles and enables me to more adequately reach out to others. I love learning more about authors personally through the bits of themselves they infuse into their writing and the other ways they reach out to their readers. Their characters give so much to the reader, among them – encouragement and hope, lessons learned, the emphasis of God’s love and plan for every person, and a certain joy that only truth imparted through fictional stories can do.
