Guess what? Guess what?

Two years ago TODAY, I got this crazy idea to start a book review blog. I’m in good company with my friends Sydney from Singing Librarian Books and Beth from Faithfully Bookish, who also started their blogs in April!

What a wild and crazy journey this has been! I’m so thankful for each of you – authors, readers, lurkers – who make this blogging thing so very fun 🙂

To show my appreciation and love for all y’all, I decided to do a giveaway. And in thinking back at my most popular posts, I’ve noticed a trend 😉

Book Boyfriends & Kisses

Yep. that’s what y’all love to read about the most haha!

  1. Congratulations!!! Two years!! And I’ve known you LOTS longer than that! 🙂

I’m new to the blog, but my favorite thing, I think, so far, is “First Line Fridays.” It’s always fun to reach over and grab a book and see what IS that first line? Will it make sense? Will a first line that someone else posts hook me to the point of “I MUST FIND THAT BOOK?”

    • Carrie

yes! gosh, how long HAVE we known each other? About 10 years? Wow – time flies.

I’m so glad you enjoy FLF! I had no idea how fun it would be when I started doing it, but I’ve definitely developed a new appreciation for first lines!

  2. Andrea Stephens

    Congratulations! Happy Birthday RIMSP!
I love all things about this blog! My TBR has grown by leaps and bounds!
I’ve met so many wonderful authors here.
Keep up the great work Carrie!

I love Kissing books. We can’t have candles in the house though 🙁

    • Carrie

oh phooey! Well, if you win, I’ll send you the etsy gift card instead! Love you, sweet friend!

Happy Happy Blogiversary, Carrie and Reading is my Super Power!! I’m so excited for you and THRILLED to have been following you on this ‘super duper’ journey! You are amazing and wonderful and fun – thank you for sharing all of your awesomeness in this blog!!

    Happy happy birthday!!

  4. Pepper

You do realize I had to go back and read that ‘Swooniest heroes’ blog post again during my school break. Oh yes, I did!! And I didnt’ mind at all!

  5. Andrea Stephens

I couldn’t find where to comment on the Book Boyfriends links.
My faves from Top Ten Tuesday Faves from 2016 are Samuel Heath and Nicholas Lowe.

  6. Haley Resseguie

Happy blogiversary, Carrie! I love First Line Fridays, Top 10 lists, Favorite books of the month (or year), and… well, everything about your blog really! Having followed your blog since just after CFRR last year, my TBR pile has grown exponentially and I have discovered some fabulous authors that I never would have known if it wasn’t for your blog. So thank you so much for what you do!

  7. Courtney

A very happy blogiversary to you! My fave things about your blog are your end of year best books lists as well as the what I’m looking forward to next season lists. You have introduced me to some great books and authors. Thank you!

  8. Happy Anniversary!

I love your book reviews and lists (even if they are a hazard to my wallet and to the stability of my foundation).

I love your interviews. They’re always interesting.

I’m amazed by how many books your read and how that still leaves to time to write reviews (much less eat and sleep and stuff).

Here’s to many more years and many more kissing books! 😀

    • Carrie

thank you, my friend! “the stability of your foundation”, huh? I didn’t know I had such power! haha!

  9. Dianne Casey

Congrats, Carrie. I enjoy your posts and the books you feature. I especially like the lists you post with new releases and other info. Great blog!

  10. Susanne

Happy 2 years! I enjoy reading your posts. My favorite is probably reading upcoming new releases to make sure I haven’t missed getting any on my TBR & find new things to read. So, thanks for the great information! 🙂

  11. Happy almost anniversary (kind of coincides with my birthday at the end of the week! woot! woot! We can celebrate together.)

I’ve only found you in the last couple of months, but I really enjoy the book reviews you do. You really bring out the interesting points in the books and make me want to pick up a whole bunch of them. And you’re so efficient!!!!

Best of luck as you continue this adventure.

  12. Winnie Thomas

Happy blogiversary, Carrie! I love everything about your blog–your creativity and fun sense of humor shine through and make it so enjoyable to read. I really enjoy your top ten (or thereabouts with your creative counting) lists. Your author interviews are great. I even love your book-pushing, TBR-list-exploding posts–even though I complain about having too many books to read!

So happy I found your blog and your friendship, my BFFF! Hugs!

  13. carylkane

CARRIE, congrats on two years! You blog is FANTASTIC! You have made my word a better place!

    (((((HUGS)))))

    • Carrie

Oh Caryl! How sweet!! Thank you 🙂 HUGS back to you! You are such an encouragement to me!!!

  14. Connie Scruggs

    Happy Blogiversary!! ????
I love your author interviews and your book reviews (especially historical fiction). A few of my favorite things about your blog are book boyfriends, swoon worthiness and how many fans we need for the kissing.
I also love your Saturday Goodreads giveaway list. It helps me enter more contests (love) and read more books (double love)!!!

  15. Ahhh this giveaway!!! So much love <3 I'm new but I like your design and your approach to books. Kissing Books <3 Your reviews are really great

  16. Kim

Happy 2 years Carrie! My favorite thing about this blog is – you! I love how you write your reviews, your top tens, your end of the year favorites, and your monthly favorites – I could go on and on. Mostly though I love how you respond to everyone and emails!

I have read the best books that I’ve ever read since finding your blog. You are much appreciated!

    • Carrie

Kim! You are the best! I’m so glad to know you through this blog (and your bff emails 😉 haha!) You are such an encouragement!

  17. Marilyn

Congratulations on your birthday. I love your blog. The interviews are tops. I would love to discuss children’s books.
    Marilyn

  18. Stacy

What I like are your reviews. I am always trying to find out the “clean” reads a local library can buy for the Amish and Mennonite patrons.

  19. Pam K.

Happy Birthday to your blog! Yours is one of my favorites to read and one I have recommended to other Christian fiction book lovers. You do a super job of reviewing a variety of books. I also like the Saturday feature of the book giveaways on Goodreads because I usually find some I didn’t know about. You have great interviews and, of course, I love your giveaways. The first line Fridays are fun too. I have to laugh at your “kissing book” swooning and “book boyfriends” but you are on target there too. Keep up the great work, Carrie. Thanks for all you do.

  20. Mallori

I love the variety of books reviewed. As head librarian at my church and an avid reader, you’ve given me many books to add to my TBR pile and my Must Purchase for the Church list.

  21. Happy Blogoversary Carrie!! You know how much I love your blog and I would be lost without you……my TBR mountain might not be so high…..but who cares! Hahaha great job!!

  22. Amanda

Congratulations!! Your blog is so much fun! You’ve introduced me to new books and authors. I LOVE your top ten lists.

  23. Elizabeth

  24. Kay Garrett

I’m relatively new, but I love everything you do. Please keep it up! I find out about some of the wonderful authors and great new books through your posts. Congratulations of 2 great years and may you do many, many more. <3

  26. Linda Moffitt

  27. Nancy M

Happy Blogiversary!!!! Yay for 2 years!!! Thankful for your friendship and that we met via this blog and our love for books and authors. And we got to ‘fan girl’ together with our pocket Pepper and we’ve been growing our friendship ever since! It’s been so much fun watching your blog take off and blossom brightly!

  28. Carolsue

My favorite thing (besides the giveaways) are the Author Interviews. What else would I like to see? Not sure….maybe more Cozy-type book reviews? Recipes? I like things the way they are, actually.

  29. Marilyn R

  37. Connie Saunders

Happy 2nd Birthday! Happy Blogaversary! I am so thankful that I found you and I appreciate so many things! Your love of Jesus; your willingness to support and encourage authors who also love Jesus; the devotion you have to finding giveaways that will allow us to have our own reading material and your unfailing ability to view the glass half full. Thank you for being such a strong advocate for the written word!

  38. Connie Saunders

Carrie, please forgive me if thos appears more than once. I posted and it was no where to be seen!

Happy 2nd Birthday! Happy Blogaversary! Carrie, I am thankful for this blog for multiple reasons. You love Jesus and God’s Word; you showcase authors who offer us worthwhile reading material; you devote tremendous amounts of time to sharing Giveaways that will allow us to own books that we can’t afford to buy and you seem to be able to see the glass half FULL. Thank you for being such a strong advocate for the written word!

  39. I used to read a lot of book blogs and life got in the way. I found you through a Seekerville visit and just love your joy. It brought my own joy of reading back. 🙂
