Recently, Pepper Basham talked about how her hero in the upcoming Charming the Troublemaker (November 2017) is ‘adorkable’.
Adorkable can mean:
- silly in a cute way
- adorably awkward
- kinda nerdy but really endearing too
So that got me thinking about other ‘adorkable’ characters that I love. Like Eisley Barrett in another Pepper Basham novel, Just the Way You Are.
Aaaaand… now I’m drawing a blank on other adorkable BOOK characters. I can think of plenty of movie examples – basically anything Sandra Bullock is in, for starters. Cary Grant in “Arsenic and Old Lace”. But I’ve completely forgotten all the bookish adorkable people.
So help me out, please? Who are some other adorkable book characters you love?
P.S. – I love this shirt that Pepper Basham just got! Isn’t she ADORABLE?!?
The hero in Karen Witemeyer’s new book is toooootally adorkable!!!!
ooooo i can’t wait to read that one!!
Nora Bradford in Becky Wade’s True to You.
Totally!
Yes! Totally agree about Nora Bradford being Adorkable!!!
YES! i love her!
I think most of Jenny B Jones heroines fit this description.
i still need to read one of her books!
O o o! I love this! Adorkable…how about Izze AND Miles in Love, Lace and Minor Alterations by V.Joy Palmer and Millie from In Good Company by Jen Turano?!! Love my adorkable peeps!
HOW did I forget Izze and Miles or Millie?!?! Argh!
I stumbled on one of the most adorkable characters ever quite by accident this week: Piper Cope from “Turtles in the Road” by Rhonda and Kaley Rhea. Seriously one of the sweetest, most hilarious contemporary Christian rom coms I have ever read. You really have to meet her!
I’m late to the party…but you beat me to this recommendation, Katie. 🙂 I <3 Piper! And Carrie…Sandra Bullock in anything is my favorite!
Haha! I’ve become a one-woman publicity campaign for that book! I hope they’ll have more in the future. 🙂
YES! she is so fun
Thanks for the shoutouts, Carrie!!! I seriously love adorkable characters!!!
I agree with Sarah. Amos Bledsoe in Karen Witemeyer’s Heart on the Line is adorkable. I’m currently reading this and finding it delightful.
