I always cringe when these topics pop up in the Top Ten Tuesday loop. Why? Because I can never narrow it down to only 10 books. SO MANY great books have released this year already, so let’s commence with my attempt to focus on my very faves.
As further clarification, I’m helping myself out by limiting to only the books released in 2017, rather than backlists I was reading from. I’m also limiting myself to books I rated as 5 stars. Because otherwise, y’all. We’ll be here all day lol!
And I can’t forget the faves I’ve reviewed for RT Book Reviews!
So… yeah. Slightly Lots more than 10. lol.
What about you? What are some of your favorite reads of 2017 so far?
Thanks Carrie! Love your lists! I agree totally with the 5 I’ve read. Adding the rest to my TBR.
YAY!
Great list Mrs. Carrie. I agree with you on Moonbow Night and True to You. I added the rest to my to-read list. I would have to add Sweetbriar Cottage by Denise Hunter, With You Always by Jody Hedlund and Grace and the Preacher by Kim Vogel Sawyer. Jody Hedlund puts out books faster than I can keep up. Do you know how many will be in the Beacons of Hope series. I need to read 4 and 5.I am looking forward to Lori Benton’s upcoming release too!
the Beacons of Hope series is finished, as far as I know 🙁 But at least we have her new series to enjoy!! 😀 And I’ve read Lori’s new one and it is AMAZING!
Great list! I think I have managed to be marginally more restrained in mine! 😉
yeah yeah, rub it in 😉
So happy to see some of my favorites on your list! And so many on your list that I haven’t read yet and totally have been dying to.
Some of my recent fave reads – Fatal Mistake by Susan Sleeman, Sweetbriar Cottage by Denise Hunter, A Matter of Trust by Susan May Warren, A Stranger at Fellsworth by Sarah Ladd, The Noble Servant by Melanie Dickerson.
i still need to read all of those except A Stranger of Fellsworth which was so good!
Oh I love the look of For Love & Honour!
I was very harsh with my list to try and keep it at ten!
it’s such a great book!
Great list, Carrie! There are several that I haven’t read yet, so thanks for the recommendations! It was fun to see Shine Like the Dawn on your list!
looking forward to your next one! 🙂
Whoops! Yep, a few more than 10 there! Better to have too many than too few though. True to You is definitely in my Top 10. Also The Whys Have It by Amy Matayo, Still Life by Dani Pettrey, Turning in Circles by Michelle Buckman, The Firstborn by Quenby Olson, My Unexpected Hope by Tammy Gray, and Just Look Up by Courtney Walsh. Maybe I should do my own post!
I still need to read several of those on your list!
I have only read five of these, of course! I’m reading Life After and True to You is on top of my TBR pile.
I just read Kara Isaac’s new book, Then There Was You. Loved it!!
yessss!!! I’ve read it since then too. Which you probably know by now since I’m typing this from the future lol. LOVED it!
My Top Ten favs:
Rescue Me, Susan May Warren
Sweetbriar Cottage, Denise Hunter
The Writing Desk, Rachel Hauck
Sandpiper Cove, Irene Hannon
A Fragile Hope, Cynthia Ruchti
A Note Yet Unsung, Tamera Alexander
I’ll Be There, Susan May Warren
All of You, Sarah Monzon
A Matter of Trust, Susan May Warren
Christmas at Carnton, Tamera Alexander
Books I can’t get to fast enough, lol:
Bread of Angels, Tessa Afshar
To Wager Her Heart, Tamera Alexander
Concealed Identity, Jessica Patch
Deep Waters, Jessica Patch
Just The Way You Are, Pepper Basham
With No Reservations, Laurie Tomlinson
Someplace Familiar, Teresa Tysinger
A Love So True, Melissa Jagears
Let’s see … I’ve read 3 of your faves but the others are on my TBR list! And of your ‘can’t get to fast enough’ list, I’ve read 5! And you will love them! 🙂
I’ve read 4 of these, have 3 of them waiting on my kindle, but I want to read most of these!
they’re so good! I hope you get to read the others soon 🙂
Gah!!! I’ve read a couple of these but so many remain on my TBR list. I loved A Moonbow Night, but then I love all of Laura Frantz’ books. A couple which made my list are
The Lost Girl of Astor Street by Stephanie Morrill
Conspiracy of Silence by Ronie Kendig
Engaged in Trouble (love all of Jenny B Jones’ books)
The Light in the Garden by Heather Burch
The Waves Break Grey by Sibella Giorello
I’ve read Conspiracy (and loved it) but the others on your list are on my TBR still!! Need more time!! lol
Man, just when I think I’m doing well with keeping up with everything you go and post a bunch of books I haven’t read yet :). #readerproblems
In addition to several of yours, I’d add the following:
Heart on the Line by Karen Witemeyer
Behind the Scenes by Jen Turano
Jane of Austin by Hillary Manton Lodge
Just Look Up by Courtney Walsh
The Illusionist’s Apprentice by Kristy Cambron
The Girl Who Could See by Kara Swanson (novella)
Fatal Mistake by Susan Sleeman
Beyond Justice by Cara Putnam
Pursued by Lisa Harris
I could say the same about you, my friend LOL. I still need to read all but one on your list 😉
I’ve got to put out there Mark of the King by Jocelyn Green and The White Feather Murders by Rachel McMillan. Those books were amazing!
I still need to read Rachel’s but I did love Mark of the King (I just read it at the end of last year to review for RT lol)
Ahh, my TBR is about to fill up so much. So many of these look so good. I saw “The Orphan Train” at the store yesterday, but didn’t buy it. Now I wish I had!
Excuse me while I sink at least an hour into reading the summaries for basically all of these books. 😀

Make sure you get ‘The Orphan’s Tale’ instead of ‘Orphan Train’ – both are good but ‘Tale’ is better!
I knew our math skills were about on par with each other. Hehehe. Some great books here! Honored that AOY is among them.
#maaaaaaath
Thanks again for including Drew and Murder on the Moor!
I have so many books to read, I hardly know where to start. Sadly, deadlines call.
ooo but deadlines mean we have more to read from you soon 😀
Very nice! LOVE your list! Lots of those are on mine too!
well, of course. Because you have great taste 😉
I also had a hard time picking 10. I’m terrible at these kinds of posts. Great list!
It’s awesome that you found so many books to love this year. It was so hard to keep my list at 10. Now I wish I would have expanded it like you did!
dare to be a rebel, Deanna! 😉
I know you said these topics make you cringe, but I love when you post a whole bunch of books because then I either get new books to add to my TBR list, or I can say, “Yes, I loved that one too!” Just wanted to let you know that I look forward to to your post for Top Ten Tuesday every week! 🙂
oh Lindsay! Thank you 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoy them. I love making them! Mostly. LOL
Oh gracious, I’m so thankful to have Someplace Familiar on your list! Thanks so much, Carrie!
you are most welcome 🙂
I LOVE this lovely, long list so much! I’ve only read a few on this list so far. It’s so fun to look at all the covers and choose some to add to the top of my TBR pile!!
I whole-heartedly concur with the Love and Honor choice.
Your blog is always a bright spot. Thanks for the great post.
Awww thank you, Courtney! That means a lot 🙂
