Sunday Book Club: Falling Into Fall Reads

Posted October 1, 2017 by meezcarrie in Christian, Sunday Book Club / 27 Comments

Can you believe it’s already October?!? That means Christmas is about two months away… and then 2018 is right around the corner. Something else around the corner in October? My dreaded 40th birthday. Ugh. Has anyone figured out how to age backwards yet? Because I’ll pay.

Anywho… It’s officially fall now. And I’m in the mood for some fallish reads. What are your faves?

I love Pepper Basham’s Just the Way You Are and A Twist of Faith for a fallish feel. But Fall also makes me want to curl up with the Harry Potter & Narnia series as well as sweeping historical novels like Laura Frantz, Tamera Alexander and Kristy Cambron (and too many others to name).

What about you? What are your fave go-to reads during fall?

  1. I like most cozy authors. I like to review the Classics or read new ones. I like a good mystery or a Royal novel by…

I don’t have any particular fall favorites, but I have a huge stack of TBR reads for October. I’m excited to read them all. Hopefully, I can get them all read before November. Wish me luck!

I just like to read but Tammy Alexander is definitely on my list a# well as Carrie Turansky and Carolyn Miller, Joann Bischoff and Candace Calvert, and so many others!

  4. Aww, don’t feel bad about forty. I find that the older I get, the more comfortable I am with myself and the less I worry about what people think of me.

    It’s kinda nice. 😀

(And I would have sworn you weren’t more than 30!)

October birthdays are the best 😉 I wish I was turning 40 again…it’s not really a big deal though, I’ve been known to forget how old I am more than once.
I usually revisit a favorite classic around my birthday but I have so many new books to read this October, I think I’ll read those instead.
I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by.

I don’t know that I would say I have seasonal go-to authors but I am looking forward to Denise Hunter’s and Katherine Reay’s fall releases. They are two of my “year-round” go-tos!!!!!

You are my favorite blog!!! I also like your new picture; very flattering hairdo. I have a stack of used books I got at the library and a thrift store so have plenty to read. Take care and God bless you!
