Hi sweet friend! Welcome to the blog!

Megan: Thanks for having me!

Carrie: I am so excited for you to be here!

apples or oranges

Megan: Can I go with grapes? If not, then those little oranges followed by the Fuji apples—the sweet and crisp ones.

Carrie: haha! yes, you can go with grapes 🙂

winter or summer

Megan: Snow is beautiful, and I love family sledding days. But I’d have to say Summer is my favorite. I don’t enjoy being cold. (And I’m always cold!) Also, the beach is way more fun when it’s warmer!

Carrie: “the beach is way more fun when it’s warmer” – I will give you that! lol!

dogs or cats

Megan: I know what the answer ‘should’ be here, and I do enjoy my dog Abraham (more so once he learns not to jump on my kiddos.) But I’m more of a cat person. (Sorry, Carrie and Zuzu. Please still be my friend.)

Carrie: Of course we can still be friends! As long as Zuzu lets me… LOL

coffee or tea

Megan: Tea with lots of sugar. ? I keep trying to like coffee. It smells so lovely, and there’s the caffeine kick that would be helpful in the mornings. However, I just can’t seem to find what all the hype is about. Although, my all-time favorite drink is a Vanilla Coke.

Carrie: I am totally with you, here. If coffee tasted like it smelled I would be a fan. But… I’ll stick with my Diet Coke instead!

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Megan: If I possess anything close to being a superpower it would maybe be working with children. Kids just seem to migrate towards me, even when I don’t know them. But if I could have any kind of power…super speed would be cool. We could travel faster and see more of the world. I could get chores done quicker, which means I could read more. ?

Carrie: Kids drawn to you, super speed for chores and travel… are you sure you’re not Mary Poppins? 😉

Q: When you walk into a bookstore, where do you head first?

Megan: Unfortunately, not too many years ago (like maybe 7?) the only sections I actually visited were the magazines or children books, and that was only because my husband drug me inside a book store to begin with. (I know! Hangs head in shame.) But I’m so proud to say that NOW I love reading, I love writing, and I LOVE BOOK STORES! And today, my first stops are the YA aisles and then I’m off to the Christian Fiction.

Carrie: We’ll just ignore the bookless years 😉 YAY for being a book & bookstore lover now!

Q: If I sneaked a peek in your purse right now (which I would never do, I promise!), what would it tell me about you?

Megan: That I’m prepared for pretty much everything, however, we may just have to dig to find it because I’m way less organized than I appear and keep things way longer than I should. But if we’re out and you ever need a hair tie, Chapstick, toy for a child, coupon, or e-book, I’m your girl.

Carrie: haha! love it

Q: If you were a mail-order bride, how would you describe yourself to a prospective husband?

Megan: Great question! But this is hard! Hmmm. I probably should first mention something about how I’m stronger and more useful than I first appear, or they may send me back upon arrival. That I love Jesus. I’m good with children. Compassionate. Dependable. Quiet until I feel at home. And that I can make a mean batch of gravy.

Carrie: The gravy seals the deal 🙂

Q: In “Perfect for the Preacher”, Amos Lowry is in for a big surprise when he meets his mail-order bride Sophie. Who would you cast in their roles if Hollywood wanted to produce your novella as a movie?

Megan: I think I may need a panel for help. How about Kaitlyn Dever for Sophie. She played Eve Baxter, the youngest daughter on Last Man Standing. Or maybe Dakota Fanning? For Amos…Tim Tebow. ? Even though he’s not an actor, nor really fits the physical characteristics. So I’m totally open to suggestions! Maybe: Shane Harper (God’s Not Dead), Spencer Boldman (Lab Rats), or Taron Egerton (Kingsman)???

Carrie: Ooo… so many droolworthy choices! 😀

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Perfect for the Preacher?

Megan: That things aren’t always as they first appear, pasts are forgivable, and to remember to keep our priorities in the right order.

Carrie: So important to remember!

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Megan: Oh, how I’d love to tell you something official here, but just know that I’m always writing (in multiple genres), so hopefully sooner rather than later you’ll see more from me.  ?

Carrie: I believe it!!

One of my favorite narrative themes are those involving marriage that leads to love. Have that story involve a preacher, and I am so there! Looking forward to reading this one.

  2. Lori Smanski

I would so pick Tim Tebow also. But back to the panel: Taron Egerton He looks mature and fun at the same time.
This is a great review. Thanks for this great giveaway

  3. Evangeline

My pick would be Tim Tebow any time. Love that young man, and I can say that because I’m old enough to be his grandmother! ?? As the wife of a retired minister, I am intrigued by this book and would love to win a copy. Thanks for the giveaway.

  4. Amy

Tim Tebow wearing THAT shirt and never taking it off. Okay, maybe not never – wink! wink! And someone knowing how to make good gravy would seal the deal for me, too.

  5. Kay Garrett

Tim Tebow – YES! But to pick one from your panel list, I’s say Taron Egerton. 🙂

Can’t wait to read “The Mail-Order Brides Collection”. Thanks for the chance to win a copy!

  6. Andrea Stephens

Carrie, thanks for introducing a new bookish friend!
Congratulations on your debut novella, Megan! I love meeting new authors via the Barbour Collections. I’ve found so many favorites in them.
I think I will choose Spencer Boldman for Amos.

  7. Of those four, I think Shane Harper is the closest to how I pictured Amos.

I’d love to win a copy for my bookshelf – I read an e-galley and really enjoyed Megan’s novella. I do love mail-order bride stories 😀

      • I’d need to reread it to be sure – I pictured a “type” and not any specific person. Off the top of my head, my first thought is a young John Ritter as the pastor on The Waltons – but that doesn’t quite work 🙂

  8. Elly

Lol, I wouldn’t know who to choose as Amos. I’d have to look into the character qualities of each one to make my choice. As for appearance, I’d have to read the story to see how I pictured him in my head before I could choose which one resembled him the closest.

  9. Trixi

Okay, I’m not “up” on actors since I don’t watch a lot of movies or TV shows…but I like the guy on the far right-side on the end. I’m guessing that’s Taron Egerton (if the names match the pictures)?

Thanks for the fun interview, hero pick and giveaway!

  10. This made me smile: “I probably should first mention something about how I’m stronger and more useful than I first appear, or they may send me back upon arrival.”

  11. Initially I was thinking Tim Tebow, but my son watches Lab Rats all the time (even right at this moment) and he’d want me to choose Spencer Boldman.
