Welcome back to my week-long series about the upcoming releases I’m excited about from May-August 2018! Today we’re looking at historical fiction, so buckle up for a mountain of great reads and gorgeous covers!

Please forgive the lateness of the day in posting but I kept getting distracted by all these fabulous covers 😉

Just as a reminder, here is the schedule of posts so you can zero in on your fave genre!

Tuesday: Contemporary Fiction (non-Amish & non-suspense)
Today: Historical Fiction (non-Amish & non-suspense)
Thursday: Mystery/Suspense
Friday: Amish Fiction
Saturday: Speculative/YA
Sunday: Non-Fiction

If you want to know more about each book, clicking on the covers will take you to that book’s Goodreads page.

Covers to Come

The Whispering Winds of Spring (Robin E. Mason)
Captive Restored (Aubrey Grayson)

Covers to Come

Enya’s Son (Cindy Thomson)

Covers to Come

Sanctuary Mountain (BJ Hoff)

I’m excited about all of these, but which ones am I most excited about?

Seriously. It’s not even fair.

So instead of relisting them all here again, I’m going to focus on the books i’ve already read and loved! These are must-reads!

  • My Heart Belongs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado by Rebecca Jepson – that first kiss = WOWZA!
  • A Daring Venture by Elizabeth Camden – fascinating history plus some smokin’ hot kisses
  • Where the Fire Falls by Karen Barnett – beautiful setting which Barnett perfectly captures and a rugged but tender hero
  • The Road to Magnolia Glen by Pam Hillman – one of my favorite historical eras to read about (in a setting we don’t often focus on) and a swoonilicious Irish hero
  • Facade by Pepper Basham – really all I need to say is “Pepper Basham” and you know you’re in for a sweet and spicy romance, great characters and grand adventure

My Fave Covers?

there are SO MANY that I love so I’m limiting myself to my top three here

What about you? Which historical fiction are you most looking forward to? Which covers are your faves?

  1. Uugghhhh ???

How am I supposed to pick?? I’m going to read them all! My hand still hurts from yesterday’s list……I’m going to need reconstructive surgery after today’s!??

    Great list my friend!

  2. Wow, so honored to have my book be included! Thanks so much! Hmmm, picking from among all those covers is tough but I think I’d have to go with Elizabeth Cambden’s A Daring Adventure. Grabbed my attention right away!

  3. Andrea Stephens

    Eeep! My favorite category! ?
I’m half way through Backcountry Brides, loving it! MHBin Glenwood Springs is waiting on my Kindle(can’t wait to read that first kiss now)
I’m adding more to my wish list though, several are already there. ❤️ I’m so excited!

  4. Connie Saunders

There’s not one book that I can eliminate from this list! They all look fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

    Love-Inspired Books are always fun….
but sad to know that the historical line is ending in JUNE….. BOOOO….

Haven’t read any in the My Heart Belongs To series….

2 books that weren’t on your list but are on mine:
Her Place in Time: A time travel romance by Stephenia H. McGee
River to Redemption by Ann H. Gabhart

    • Carrie

i know – it made me so sad to not include them in July & August :-/

River to Redemption is in there!
And Stephenia’s will be in the speculative list 😀

  6. So thrilled to see Where the Fire Falls sandwiched between Elizabeth Camden and Pepper Basham’s newest titles. What great company! I’m looking forward to reading both of these! Oh, and Tara Johnson’s debut novel is on my iPad waiting for me to meet my upcoming writing deadline. It’s going to be my reward. EEEEEEE!

  7. Rebecca Maney

My Amazon cart is surely going to crash. What great stories are on the horizon, I can’t even begin to choose favorites. Thanks for the great updates!

  8. Tracey Hagwood

The only book I’ve read that’s on your list is Sons of Blackbird Mountain…sigh, LOVED IT!
If I could pick three books to instantly appear they would be:
    1) The Road to Magnolia Glen, I’m jealous you’ve met Quinn already!
    2) Minding the Light, curious to read book 2 in this unique storyline.
    3) Thief of Corinth, because, TESSA!

I’m going to try and read as many of these beautiful books you’ve shown as possible! I can’t even begin to pick a favorite cover, if I try I’ll be sitting here looking at my computer all day. I have Hearts Entwined in my book pile, but it’s so fun to see those individual novella covers of Karen, Mary, Regina and Melissa, so pretty.

Thanks for doing all the research, it’s wonderful to be able to click on a book and add it just that quick to my to-read list on Goodreads, easy-peasy! Looking forward to your suspense picks!

    • Carrie

i totally am with you on your 2 & 3 and sorry? about 1 lol. I also really liked the covers for the Hearts Entwined novellas – so pretty and cute!

I’ve read 4 of these. =) I am SO STINKING EXCITED about Kelly Goshern’s book! I read it like 2 years ago when she was writing it and I am just so happy it is finally published!!

  10. Brittaney B

This is my favorite genre and I’m so excited to read these new titles. Many of them are already on my TBR list. I’m particularly interested in Ramble and Roar. I’ve really been enjoying the twenties setting lately and the cover looks a bit gothic and mysterious.

Carrie I need to come to your house with so many awesomely awesome books!!! I’d never leave…hahaha!!!

  12. ACK! My comment disappeared! Thanks so much, Meez Carrie, for including Backcountry Brides on your list! We hope you’ll love our colonial trip into the backcountry of America! Blessings!

  13. The ones I’m looking forward to that I know I will be reading are The Backcountry Brides, Catie Cordero’s Ramble and Roar, Michelle Griep’s The Captured Bride, Karen Barnett’s Where the Fire Falls, Pam Hillman’s The Road To Magnolia Glen, and Stacy Henrie’s A Cowboy of Convenience. After those, I’m most looking forward to Karen Witemeyer’s More than Meets the Eye, Beth White’s A Rebel Heart, James Markert’s What Blooms from Dust, and Jen Turano’s Caught by Surprise. And then, well, all…I want to read them all.

This post should come with a warning! Or maybe I should just be blocked from seeing it 😉

  14. Winnie Thomas

Can I just say “All of the above”? Wow! What a bunch of great looking books! I can see my summer is going to be filled up with reading. 😀
