21 days until Christmas!! It’s snowing here a little today (if i squint)… what’s the weather like where you are?

‘Tis the season when I start craving cozy Christmas reads. (Okay – I crave them all year round but now’s when I can get away with talking about them LOL)  I had so much fun with this blog series last year, so I decided to make it an annual thing 🙂 Continuing through the end of the year, I’m going to spotlight several new/recent Christmasy releases. So… snuggle in, grab your fave hot beverage and comfiest blanket, turn on some Christmas tunes and start your bookish Christmas list! Oh… and did I mention there are GIVEAWAYS with EACH POST in this series??!! (Because authors are awesome!)

Today’s book is a romantic suspense novel with a murder-witness who has amnesia, a fight for her life, and a cowboy who falls hard. Plus, Dana Mentink has a fun Christmas game for us to play!

SERIES: Gold Country Cowboys #4
GENRE: Inspirational Romantic Suspense
PUBLISHER: Love Inspired Suspense
RELEASE DATE: November 1, 2018
PAGES: 224

A witness with amnesia

Can she trust this Gold Country Cowboy with her life?

Tracy Wilson witnessed a murder—but after a head injury, she can’t remember what she saw. Now someone plans to silence her for good, and only cowboy Keegan Thorn believes her.

With a killer after her at Christmas, Tracy is running out of time to remember…and falling dangerously hard for the cowboy who could break her heart.

Would you rather…Christmas style!

Woot! I hear those sleigh bells jingling, don’t you? Actually, I’m here in Northern CA, so we don’t get snow, but hey, I’m a fiction writer. I can dream up any setting at the drop of a hat! I love the season and all things Christmas. This is a good thing, since two of the four books in my latest Gold Country Cowboy series are holiday themed! I thought it would be fun to do a little “Would You Rather?” piece here and have a giveaway! Answer any of the thought provoking questions below and you’re entered to win a copy of Lost Christmas Memories and an a $10 Amazon gift card. Ready? Let’s do this! My answers are included below.

  1. Would you rather eat ONLY fruitcake or ONLY candy canes for a whole day?

(Are you kidding? My answer is FRUITCAKE! I LOVE the stuff!)

  1. Would you rather only receive gifts for a day or give them?

(I’m a giver. If only I had the funds to actually do this on a grand scale. I’ve got caviar dreams on a bologna and cheese budget.)

  1. Would you rather be Santa or Mrs. Claus?

(Mrs. Clause for me because I’m a stay at home kinda gal, no flying in freezing temps for this writer!)

  1. Would you rather have a job wrapping presents at the mall or taking pictures of kids on Santa’s lap?

(Photos! My wrapping skills are dismal.)

  1. Would you rather celebrate Christmas at home with lots of presents, or celebrate Christmas in Disneyland with no presents?

(Home. No contest. After a couple hours in Disney, I’m ready to pack myself up and get out of Dodge!)

I can’t wait to hear your answers! God bless you all this holiday season!

Dana Mentink is giving away a copy of Lost Christmas Memories to one of my readers! (choice of print – US only – or digital – open to all) This giveaway is subject to Reading Is My SuperPower’s giveaway policies which can be found here. Enter via the Rafflecopter form below.

I think I would try Disney one Christmas but I know that hubby would never go for that. The budget wouldn’t either, that place is expen$ive. So just a quiet Christmas at home with the family will have to do.

  2. Kailey Bechtel

I would rather give gifts. I like to pick something that will make the person happy. The one year I had searched for months for this one book that my sister wanted. She couldn’t remember the title or author, but kinda remembered the cover and what it was about. I finally found it and ordered it for her. It was so worth it seeing how happy she was.

  3. Kay Garrett

Definitely fruitcake for me. I love my Mom’s recipe for no bake fruitcake which is basically crushed vanilla wafers, melted marshmallows, eagle brand milk and candied fruit all mixed up. We press them into mini muffin pans for portion control – like I’m only going to eat one. 🙂

Since hubby and both love photography, it would be right up our alley to take kid’s photos with Santa.

Love Dana’s books and can’t wait for the opportunity to read “Lost Christmas Memories” which is on my TBR list. How can you not love that cover!

  4. Gloria

Well, I enjoy giving gifts, staying home and eating fruitcake cookies. I have a great recipe. So good! I used work at a gift shop where I wrapped gifts all the time so if you have a setup for wrapping, I enjoy that.

  5. Jocelyn

I would rather be home for Christmas. I’ve never been much for going places on Christmas. Defeats the purpose of bonding with family.

  6. Martha Troxel

I would rather eat fruitcake instead of candy canes all day. There’s a bakery in Texas that makes really delicious ones and they ship all over the world! I am glad that where I live isn’t too far away(Iowa) for regular shipping.

  7. I’d rather wrap gifts for others. There’s a certain excitement in knowing that friends and loved ones will be receiving something really special! Thanks for the opportunity to enter a giveaway! Would love to win a print copy of any CF–(it’ll be my Christmas gift I receive:)

  8. Pam K.

My answers matched Dana’s except for the fruitcake/candy cane question. I don’t think I could eat either one all day. I’m happy to have the chance to win Lost Christmas Memories. I really enjoyed the first book in this series (the others are on my want to read list).

  9. 1. Would you rather eat ONLY fruitcake or ONLY candy canes for a whole day?
WHAT??? NO CHOCOLATE?!?!? I am not a fan of fruitcake AT ALL and only tolerate peppermint in tiny tastes. (weird I know)
    2. Would you rather only receive gifts for a day or give them?
    Give, preferably something I’ve made.
    3. Would you rather be Santa or Mrs. Claus?
I do like flying but I do NOT like having to rush – I’ll go with Mrs. Claus. I’ll stay home and make cookies and hot cocoa.
    4. Would you rather have a job wrapping presents at the mall or taking pictures of kids on Santa’s lap?
The artist in me says take pictures!
    5. Would you rather celebrate Christmas at home with lots of presents, or celebrate Christmas in Disneyland with no presents?
Definitely at home. It’s a nostalgia thing, traditions and all.

  10. Winnie Thomas

Hmmmm! Interesting questions! Fruitcake if it’s our family recipe (we put gumdrops in it), give gifts, Mrs. Claus (I’m claustrophobic, so going up and down those chimneys would do me in!), wrapping presents, Christmas at home. Although, we did go to Disneyland with our youngest daughter’s family a couple of Decembers ago. It was the first week in December, the lines weren’t terrible, and it was all decorated up for Christmas. Instead of It’s a Small World, they sang We Wish You a Merry Christmas. I’m not terribly fond of Disneyland, but it was fun seeing the kids get so excited.

      1) I would rather eat candy canes all day.
      2) I would rather give gifts for a day.
      3) I would like to be Mrs. Claus.
      4) I would rather have a job wrapping presents.
      5) I would rather spend Christmas at home with lots of presents.
Thanks for giveaway. I woould really enjoy reading.

  11. Shirley Emitt

Would you rather have a job wrapping presents at the mall or taking pictures of kids on Santa’s lap?
Taking pictures of kids on Santa’s lap for me, can’t wrap.

  12. Pam Lunsford

    1 Fruitcake my mom fixes
    2 Give Gifts.
    3 Mrs. Clause
4 I would take pictures of kids.
5 I would definitely stay at home.
    Merry Christmas ?

  13. James Robert

I would rather celebrate Christmas at home with lots of presents. I like being home with my 5 kids on Christmas day.

  14. Sonnetta Jones

I am such a homebody sometimes. So when I get home from taking photos of kids with Santa I will finish wrapping the gift I got for people while eating my fruitcake. I can only stand the cold for Santa’s send off then I am back to the fireplace.

  15. Kimberly

I would love to visit Disney during Christmas. It would be a Christmas not easily forgotten and a special time for our family of eight!

  16. Jodi Hunter

I would rather have a job taking pictures of kids sitting on Santa’s lap, I bet it gets pretty funny at times.

  17. Rachael de Klerk

    1. Would you rather eat ONLY fruitcake or ONLY candy canes for a whole day?

I have to agree with Dana on this one?. Fruitcake is a three course meal in itself?!

  18. Sandy Klocinski

Would you rather eat ONLY fruitcake or ONLY candy canes for a whole day? I don’t generally like peppermint. On the other hand, fruitcake must be made out of whatever Twinkies and Roaches are made from as it can survive nuclear fallout. Seriously, if the choice was fruitcake, candy canes or starving to death I’d probably choose death.

  19. Janice Moore

I would rather take pics of Kids with Santa! I love snapping pics for the pure beauty and joy of it!

  20. Tracey Hagwood

I need Lost Christmas Memories…but don’t want to lose any of mine, haha!

You can find this Mrs. Claus at home wrapping all those gifts I love to give,
enjoying a few candy canes…while watching Christmas movies
(I threw in the movies for a bonus 🙂

  21. samantha

I wanted to answer the number 5 would you rather question!
I would rather at DisneyLand as long as my family was with me it would be awesome! To me going to DisneyLand is better than any present i have received or could give anyone.

  22. Terrill R.

I would rather wrap presents than take Santa pics. My mom is a world class present wrapper and she’s helped me learn all her creative tricks.

  23. Taking pictures. I love to take pictures! I’d hope for a camera with a faster shutter speed if I was responsible for getting pics of kids on Santa’s lap, though.
