This is the time of year I start looking at new devotional books and reflecting on my spiritual goals for the new year.

Ellie Claire’s Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus is a beautiful devotional journal with an appealing cover & interior design as well as high quality paper stock inside. Each day’s entry is short and sweet, with space for journaling your thoughts/prayers/application, etc. and each day also begins with a line from a hymn or more modern worship song. (I was a little disappointed that more of the hymns/songs were not quoted each day but the one line gives me enough prompt to look up and reflect on the lyrics on my own – something that I’m sure will make them even more meaningful the next time I sing them.)

The devotionals aren’t anything in depth but they are great for a quick read in the morning that you can carry in your heart all day. The entry for today (Dec 12th) was especially meaningful to me after speaking yesterday at the memorial service for a friend who died from cancer – “Even though we may cry tears of grief at a loved one’s passing, we can hold on to hope and joy – celebrating life. We can praise God that, in His compassion, He provided a Redeemer to assure our eternal home in heaven.”

Bottom Line: I can tell that the Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus devotional journal from the Ellie Claire company will be used by God to help nudge me toward the truth He has for me each day. Its beautiful packaging and design makes it attractive to use and draws the eye – a good reminder when you’ve let the day slip by without spending some quiet time in the Word. This also makes an ideal gift for any female on your gift list this holiday season!

AND I’ve created a Spotify playlist to coordinate with the songs featured each day – you can check it out HERE! So far I’ve only made it through January’s songs – and there was one I couldn’t find so i substituted something else that fit the theme 🙂

(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.)

My Rating: 4 stars / love it!

I have attempted Journalling, but have fallen behind. I have decided my New Year’s resolution is to start Bullet Journalling and I think this devotional journal would be just right for me to get started. Thanks for the giveaway and good luck everyone.
