Happy Tuesday! Today’s topic on Top Ten Tuesday didn’t do it for me, so I’m going back to the one that I missed last week – authors I loved who were new to me in 2018. Some of these are debut authors, but some are authors I simply hadn’t had the occasion to read until last year.
Fair warning, there’s a lot more than 10 lol (I know y’all are shocked)
Click on the book covers to either go to my review or Amazon (depending on whether I reviewed it here or not) using my affiliate link at no cost to you.
What about you? Who were some authors you discovered in 2018 & loved?
I’m so excited to have “met” you this year, Carrie! Love this list! ?
Although I wasn’t thrilled with the topic, I went ahead and did it. Feel like a failure on many levels — reader fail, reviewer fail, book-pusher fail . . . LOL! Loved your list. Now I have some new authors to check out.
Liz Tolsma is very high on my want to read. I even bought her books for our church library, but still haven’t read them. “Northern Deception” is in my cart right now. Can’t wait to read that one!
I read Stephenia McGee’s Her Place in Time simply because I loved the cover. She was a new-to-me author, and I enjoyed the story. I have one of Laurie Woods’ books I want to read. For 2019, I want to read more of the authors who aren’t household names, but some of my new ones in 2018 were Annette Irby, Lynn Blackburn, Leslie Ann McDaniel, Betty Thomason Owens, Denise Hunter.
Let’s see, new to me in 2018: Jamie Jo Wright, Andrea Boyd, Georgiana Daniels, Kara Isaac, Glenn Haggerty, Charles Martin, Ronie Kendig, and Joanne Bischof. I can – and in some cases already have – read more my all of them.
I’m honored to have made your list, Carrie! New-to-me authors last year were Jocelyn Greene and Stephania McGee!

Thank you for the mention, Erin! It’s lovely to be “found”…
I had to do more than 10 for this topic, too. It’s a hard one to narrow down. Our lists are completely different. I have had my eye on the Sarah Hollenbeck book, though! Thanks for sharing!
I read Vivien Chen in 2018 and really enjoyed the mystery. I’m hoping to read more in 2019!
Great list, Carrie! I also loved J’nell Ciesielski’s debut. I enjoyed The Alice Network by Kate Quinn, In the Shadow of Lakecrest by Elizabeth Blackwell, A Murder by Any Name by Suzanne M. Wolfe and a few others.

Yay!!! So glad you found them 🙂
Thank you for the list. Ordered Vivian Chien’s book on your recommendation (always looking for superior cozies!) and hlad to hear your opinion of Misty Beller. She comes up so many times on Celebrate Lit and I REALLY want to try her. She sounds like what I would enjoy. Then J’nelle Ciesielski!
Wow! Ordered Vivian Chien on your recommendation. Want to try J’nelle Ciesielski and Misty Beller, for sure!
Yay! You can’t go wrong with those two either. Let me know what you think of Vivian’s series 🙂
