Posted May 7, 2019 by meezcarrie in Christian, Ginny Yttrup, giveaway / 20 Comments

Mother’s Day is almost here, and a recent conversation with my book sisters prompted an idea which turned into this post. Want to buy your mom a book for Mother’s Day? (or want to give your family ideas for the gifts they may be buying you?) Here some of my recommendations for a variety of reader moms!

uh… fair warning… this is a long list…but this is what happens when someone asks me for book recommendations. (Ok, so no one asked this time but you’re getting it anyway lol). Also… disclaimer … there’s no way i can cover all the books I want to so I’m forcing myself to limit to 4 per category. Mostly.

clicking on the covers will take you to Amazon.

The selection of books is wonderful and very special. Romanov and Far Side of the Sea, Hidden Among the Stars and so many more. Lovely and memorable books which are real treasures.

  2. If I were to read any kind of books. I would absolutely love to read these two books. Back in the saddle by Ruth Logan Herne. And welcome to the wishing bridge.
My mom doesn’t like reading books. Wish she would.

  3. Winnie Thomas

I can’t believe how many of these books I’ve read–well, fiction ones, anyway. I don’t read much nonfiction. Great selection, Carrie! Well done, my BFFFC!

There are so many of these books that I would love to get and read: As My Parents Age, Praying the Scriptures for Your Adult Children, and Settle My Soul among many others listed here. If my mom (who only reads the Bible) were a reader like me, I would get her the book Sacred Rest.

  5. Faith Creech

My mom loves to read historical novels and mysteries. So do i! We have the same tastes in books!

I would have a hard time choosing. If I win I would give them to my older sister. My mom has passed away. My older sister is almost 13 years older than my twin and I. We always joked it is like having two mothers growing up. She did lot of good things for us when we were little. She loves books as we do too. Thank You Carrie for this lovely and generous giveaway.

  7. I’ve passed the cozies onto mom! Always looking for more recommendations for her as she only reads cozies or Austen. ?

  8. Donna E H D

Oh, so many of those! I already have a couple of the books, but the recommendations I especially like are: Hidden Among the Stars, all four of the history, all four of the cozies, all four of the biblical , The Cost of Betrayal, and both books by Becky Wade. I will share with my daughter & granddaughter the list, too. My mother & mother-in-law have both been gone for years.

  9. Perrianne Askew

I think we would both enjoy the suspense books (I’ll share). But honestly, you have a ton of really great books listed. I probably wouldn’t be disappointed in any of them.

I got her an Amazon gift card. She does not read Christian fiction but I would read them all.

  11. MS Barb

All of them! It was difficult to narrow this down to 3: Ordinary Snowflakes by J. Rodewald; Song of Silence by C. Ruchti; and “Fetching Sweetness by D. Mentink

  12. Janet Estridge

We have 45 of the books mentioned in the church library.
My Mom wasn’t a reader but I would love to have all those books.
This will be my 7th Mother’s Day without her.

  13. Danielle Hammelef

The Secrets of Paper and Ink, Eat at Home Tonight, and Romanov–these are just a few of the ones you have pictured.
