Jeremy and Helen have great chemistry and a teasing fondness that had me grinning often. Once the kisses started I was swooning and grinning at the same time! Their banter is such fun (the kicks!!!) yet the romantic scenes sizzle with breathless tension. A great combination of tender, fun, and swoony!
The danger and intrigue are nicely done too, timed just right to build the tension and keep you on the edge of your seat. The ending will have you frantically impatient for the next book, especially if you have read the other books in the series. (Don’t worry if you haven’t though. The author does a good job of catching you up.)
Bottom Line: You’ll hold your breath for more than one reason while reading By Hook or By Rook – from swoony kisses to nail-biting danger and a last line that will have you gasping out loud. This is a delightful journey from start to finish and a quick read perfect for a summer night.
