A GIFT LIKE NO OTHER
SERIES: O’Connor Christmas
GENRE: Inspirational Historical Romance/Novella
RELEASE DATE: October 20, 2019
Her dream is writing.
His is the perfect wife and mother.
Until God fulfills them both
with a dream like no other.
Twelve years ago, Faith O’Connor happily gave up her dream as a copywriter to become a wife and mother, clinging to her husband’s promise she could return someday. But when the opportunity arises to write for the Boston Herald again two days a week, her dream hits a snag … along with her marriage.
To Collin McGuire, family is everything because he never really had one of his own. Raised by a father who died early and a mother who didn’t care, Collin is determined to give his children the very best with a full-time mother. But when he denies Faith her dream, he soon discovers he’s denied his own as well … until Christmas day brings a healing through a gift like no other.
If you think Julie Lessman’s stories are smokin’ with sweetly steamy passion (within proper boundaries) before her characters are married, just wait until she gets ’em hitched! WHEW! Just go ahead and read this from the safety of your freezer 😉
Readers first met Faith and Collin on the pages of Lessman’s A Passion Most Pure and they’ve faithfully followed the O’Connors through the rest of the Daughters of Boston & then the Winds of Change series. It’s so nice to see them all again in this series of novellas that picks back up a few years later. This also allows Lessman to do what she does best – showcase passion with a purpose, within the context of the challenges and ‘benefits’ of married life. I must admit that my easily-blushing self would not have wanted to be in some of the discussions between Faith & her sisters and mom (lol) but I also love seeing that closeness between their family & the way they do have these important (and healthy) conversations that too often get avoided for the sake of embarrassment (looking at me here).
Bottom Line: A Gift Like No Other is trademark Julie Lessman! A lot of sass, a lot of steam, and a sweet emphasis on a life of prayer and following God. The O’Connor family is truly special and any time spent visiting with them is time well spent. The same can be said for a new Julie Lessman book, and this one is no exception!
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.)
