I always love a trip to Sweetheart Ranch in Arizona on the pages of McDavid’s fun series, especially when it falls around Christmas.
Family is front and center in The Cowboy’s Christmas Baby – with all its blessings and curses. Tanner is torn between two families, the one he was born into and the one he created. The fact that, no matter what choice he makes, someone he loves dearly will be hurt definitely adds some complex and emotional layers to the story, and McDavid uses this to keep the tension high throughout. In fact, I spent most of the story annoyed at everyone in Tanner’s family – including Tanner – and Jewel, too…. annoyed, but very invested in how it would all turn out. Because I wanted to wave my non-existent magic wand and fix this impossible situation for Tanner, who was trying to do the right thing, but of course life doesn’t work that day – and neither does a good story.
Watching Tanner instantly bond with sweet little Ava is so adorable – a tough cowboy all smitten with a baby girl is all kinds of swoonworthy & a cutiepie baby girl who instantly knows this is her daddy just melts your heart. The chemistry between Tanner & Jewel hasn’t faded any in their time apart; in fact, all that repressed longing may have just made those sparks even hotter, and that first-again kiss? whew! Keep your fans handy.
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Prism Book Tours. All views are expressed are only my honest opinion.)
My Rating: 4 stars / love it!
KissingBook Level: 4 / keep fans and fainting couches handy!
As a sophomore in high school, NY Times, USA Today, and Amazon bestselling author Cathy McDavid won a local writing competition with her self-illustrated children’s book. Who knew that small triumph would eventually lead to a career writing contemporary romances with over 1.3 million books sold? With forty-seven titles to date, Cathy is also a member of the prestigious Romance Writers of America’s Honor Roll. This “almost” Arizona native and mother of grown twins recently married her own real-life sweetheart. After leaving the corporate world four years ago, she now spends her days penning stories about good looking men who ride the range or fight fires or hunt creatures all while sweeping the girl off her feet. It’s a tough job but she’s willing to make the sacrifice.

It would be great to win!
“The tears I have shed could fill an ocean.” First line, and it’s not fiction, but it’s what I have near me and have finished reading. The book, Pages of Hope, by Cynthia Marcano and Eleitta Stevens-Wilder (and others) is a novella sized work of testimonies from those that have been tramatized by others, but who have now found hope and healing in Christ. Really touched by this book.
Christmas is my acorite holiday and this sounds like a good read.
Christmas reads are just always happy
That cover is sooo happy, with that adorable baby and hunky cowboy, one can’t help but smile just looking at it!
Why did I let Henry con me into coming here?

Happy Friday!
Today on my blog I’m sharing the first line from Diamond in the Rough by Jen Turano:https://christianfictiongirl.blog/2019/11/14/first-line-friday-110/. It’s SO good. I’m currently on chapter 17, so I’ll share the first line from there.
“Can’t thank you enough, Reginald, for insisting on accompanying Poppy and me as we search for that peddler,” Murray said from the far side of the sleigh, staunchly ignoring the frown Poppy, who was squished in between Reginald and Murray, was sending him.
Hope you have a great weekend filled with awesome reading time. 🙂❤📖

Maddie Winslow met the man of her dreams the same day that her friend Olivia introduced Maddie to her new boyfriend.
Because of You by Becky Wade
I love to read Christmas stories. They are always inspirational.
Happy Friday! My first line is from “Because of You” by Becky Wade:
“Maddie Winslow met the man of her dreams the same day that her friend Olivia introduced Maddie to her new boyfriend. Which would have been splendid, except that the man of Maddie’s dreams was Olivia’s new boyfriend.”
Adorable cover! Sounds great!
