celebrating 10 books!

by Jill Kemerer, author of Her Cowboy Till Christmas

It’s been almost five years since my first novel released. I can’t tell you how exciting it was to hold an actual book of mine in my hands!

When I got my first contract in 2014, I was a very different person than I’d been in 2007 writing my first novel. Back then I thought it would take me a year (tops!) to get a book contract. When I received my first rejection in 2008, I was discouraged. But I rallied.

I studied writing craft books, industry blogs, joined social media sites, started my own blog, belonged to writers’ groups, and kept writing. Soon. I was sure a contract was right around the corner.

By 2013, I’d grown desperate. I’d had a terrific agent for three years, but the publishing industry was in a funk. No contracts for me. I’d poured everything I could into trying to get published, and with nine manuscripts languishing on my laptop, I conceded it was about time to give up the dream. I was fully prepared to walk away from writing if I got a no on the book out on submission.

Here’s the thing, though. God had been working on me all that time. Yep, it took a lot of rejections for me to open my hands and my heart to trust that God knew what was best for me. It took years of pure faith before I sold a single book.

Thankfully, God didn’t ask me to give up writing. My first book, Small-Town Bachelor, released in April 2015, and I’ve been writing for Love Inspired ever since. In fact, my tenth Love Inspired novel released a few weeks ago!

HER COWBOY TILL CHRISTMAS is my tenth novel and the first book in a new series called Wyoming Sweethearts.

About the Wyoming Sweethearts series: Four close friends, each trying to move forward after tragedies, support each other as they find love on the wide-open ranches near the little town of Rendezvous, Wyoming.

What’s special about Her Cowboy Till Christmas?

  • The hero, Mason Fanning, has an identical twin he never knew existed. Don’t worry, this comes out in the opening pages!
  • The heroine, Brittany Green, is very concerned about her aging grandmother and needs to make some tough decisions about both of their futures.
  • Widower Mason has a three-year-old son and is struggling to live up to his father-in-law’s expectations.
  • Noah, his little boy, is about as cute as a kid can be, and I want to gobble him up!
  • Rendezvous is a fictional town in Wyoming that I totally wish was real! There’s even a fun Christmas festival I want to attend.
  • Mason is part of a support group in town with his single sister-in-law, Eden (she’ll find love in book 4), their friend Gabby (book 2), and recently widowed Nicole (book 3). They’re all working through big losses, and they encourage each other through God’s word and prayer.

Thank you for celebrating this momentous occasion with me! I hope you’re blessed this Christmas and that you find time to read all the books you want.
