Hi Allison! Welcome to the blog!

Allison: Bananas. I really only like the other two as desserts or juice.

Carrie: now i want banana bread….

Allison: Winter. I know that sounds crazy, but I was born up north. So far up north, that when we moved south, we went to school on a snow day because we didn’t know they were a thing.

Carrie: That doesn’t sound crazy at all. I had a similar experience when we moved from the Illinois/Wisconsin border to Kentucky – where they take a snow day if someone spits on the ground and it freezes 😉

Allison: Both. My dog is my best friend. Well, she’s everyone’s best friend, that is, but ever since my cat passed, I can’t open a book without being sad because my little guy isn’t there to crawl all over it. No house is a home without some fur babies scampering around.

Carrie: Awww i totally agree with that! Pets are the special-ist friends

Allison: Audiobooks. Definitely, audiobooks. I may have a problem.

Carrie: haha!

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Allison:Flying. My non-superhero self is terrified of flying and planes, but I think, if I got bit by a radioactive bird or something and could suddenly take to the skies, I’d probably get over it.

Carrie: LOL! Yes! me too.

Q: Who is your favorite book character from childhood?

Allison: Lucy Pevensie from The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe. It was like I thought I was her. As I got older though, I started to see the Edmund in myself as I think we all should. It was so easy to be mad at him, until I realized his mistakes were not that dissimilar from my own.

Carrie: Oh boy, that’s so true!

Q: If I sneaked a peek in your purse right now (which I would never do, I promise!), what would it tell me about you?

Allison: That I’m a hot mess. Seriously, you might need a hazmat suit to go digging in there.

Carrie: hahahaha! I hear ya.

Q: Some authors like to hide little things in their stories. Is there anything you have hidden in Dunked in Trouble

Allison: Maybe. Wink wink. I’m a fan of a certain classic author. I like to put a tribute to her in every book. You’ll have to let me know if you guess what it is and who it’s for.

Carrie: ooo i’m intrigued…

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Dunked in Trouble?

Allison: Never turn down a doughnut. Breakfast is my favorite meal and it often takes the place of lunch and dinner. And breakfast pastries…Mmmm. They’re my jam.

Carrie: Yummm… jam. (Can we be friends? I feel like we’re nearly the same person, except for the audiobooks & bananas lol)

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Allison:  I’m not really a planner, but I’m sure that whatever comes next will be full of suspense, love, and—as always—food.

Carrie: my kind of book!

What about you? What interests you most about Allison Pearl and Dunked in Trouble? What’s your favorite type of breakfast pastry or doughnut to eat?
