So… grab a fan or two, your trusty fainting couch, and maybe a freezer just to be safe and start making your KissingBooks tbr list! Oh… and did I mention there are GIVEAWAYS with EACH POST in this series??!! (Because authors are awesome!)
Today’s first book is Taming Julia by Jodie Wolfe – plus a Q&A with the author!

In 1875, Kansas bachelor Drew Montgomery’s sole desire is to serve God, but his congregation’s ultimatum that he marry or leave, forces him to advertise for a wife by proxy.
Jules Walker strides into Drew’s life wearing breeches and toting a gun and saddle–more cowboy than bride. After years on the trail, she’s not exactly wife material, but she longs for home and family, and will do anything to ensure Drew never discovers what she really is.
Hi Jodie! Welcome back to the blog!
Jodie: Winter! I love the cold and snow. My husband and I pray for snow every year.
Carrie: YES! me too!
Jodie: Most definitely tea! I’ve never liked the taste of coffee.
Carrie: Me either! (But then, I don’t like the taste of tea either lol)
Jodie: I often listen to music while I’m writing and most of the other times I’m awake too.
Carrie: Haha me too!
Jodie: My eyes do better with reading a physical copy.
Carrie: Oh i wish mine did!
Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?
Jodie: Writing. I’ve been known to write a book in eight weeks. 🙂
Carrie: Wow!
Q: Who is your favorite book character from childhood?
Jodie: Laura Ingalls in the Little House on the Prairie series
Carrie: I love that series!
Q: Writing spaces are as diverse as authors and books. Where is your favorite space to write?
Jodie: Most times it’s in my office. I have a comfortable office chair, and my character story board that’s filled with photos is typically right in front of me. I have some resource/research books on my desk that are within easy access if I need them.
Carrie: oh i love the idea of a character story board!
Q: If Hollywood wanted to produce Taming Julia as a movie, who would you want to be cast as the lead roles?
Jodie: If we can go with anyone – a brown-haired Doris Day for Jules, and Chris Evans for Drew.
Carrie: What a great (and unique) combination!
Q: Did you have the whole plot outlined before you started writing, or did you let the characters dictate what came next?
Jodie: I always have a loose idea where the story is heading, but the characters tend to take over and have a mind of their own.
Carrie: I always find that so fascinating
Q: What is something God taught you while you were writing Taming Julia?
Jodie: Perseverance. I wrote this book eight years ago. It’s taken quite a while to find just the right publisher for it.
Carrie: Walking with Him is often a lesson a perseverance, on waiting without losing heart, isn’t it? A great reminder!
Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.
Jodie: I’m working on the second book in the Burrton Springs Brides Series as well as a book set in the town where I went to college. Thank you so much for having me here today!
Carrie: My pleasure!
