Can she stop a deadly crop virus

from ending up in the wrong hands?

Biologist and single mom Sassa Nilsson just witnessed her mentor’s brutal murder by environmental extremists. Now she’s the last link to a deadly pathogen they plan on unleashing–and their number one target! But can handsome border patrol agent Jared De Luca shield Sassa and her baby long enough to find a cure…before the entire world faces the unthinkable consequences?

Tanya Stowe has quickly become one of my favorite suspense authors, and Killer Harvest is yet another example why.

Sassa (or ‘Sassy Sassa’ as she’s fondly called by her mentor) is instantly likable and surprisingly relatable despite her career as a biologist and very advanced research skills. Her relatability is due in large part to her strength amid the nightmare she’s suddenly living out and her fierce love for her little girl. We can easily put ourselves in her shoes in a general sense and wonder how we would react in her own situation.

Jared is a swoony combination of a little brooding and a lot protective – with a tender side and a good sense of humor. Watching Sassa’s adorable little girl completely capture his heart will melt you, and watching him fall in love with Sassa herself will have you forgetting to breathe every once in a while. His struggles with his faith are also relatable, and you’ll almost find yourself praying for him a time or two – before you remember that he’s a fictional character lol.

I also really enjoyed the suspense element to Killer Harvest – the bioterrorism angle regarding the crop virus that could wipe out everything and wreak great havoc. You can easily see that legitimately playing out in the world today, which will keep you on the edge of your reading chair while you’re imagining the ramifications of such a thing actually happening. The bad guys are bad guys and you’ll forget to breathe for a whole different reason whenever one (or more) of them shows up on the scene.

Bottom Line: High-stakes action & danger. Swoony & sweet romance. Non-stop heart in your throat. Engaging characters you immediately become invested in. All these elements – plus the pitch perfect writing style – make Killer Harvest by Tanya Stowe one of my top reads of 2020 so far.

(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received via Celebrate Lit Tours. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.)

My Rating: 5 stars / love it!

KissingBook Level: 3 / may forget to breathe on occasion

This book sounds very intriguing and like a very good page turner! I love mysteries. I love the cover, it is Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing the review on this book. I will be adding it to my TBR list.

I could have commented here? Thought I had to do a Tour Stop & got frustrated as anything trying to comment on a book I knew nothing about. Guess I don’t have to write anything, but I had been so excited thinking I was goin to comment on something I felt comfortable about. I am totally in love with Love Inspired Suspense & Harlequin Suspense novels! 💜💜💜 Really enjoy the Love Inspired Suspense better because although there’s a love story (has to be), it doesn’t have the sex! Keep writing!

Like Carrie says, this sounds like an edge-of-your-seat read and possibly a nail-biter too.
I would plan to start reading “Killer Harvest” Saturday morning, certainly not at night because I would not go to bed until I had finished reading the book.
