Darlene: Cats – they’re so cuddly. 🙂
Carrie: I prefer dogs who always seem to be up for cuddles – unlike the cats I know who only cuddle on their terms haha
Darlene: Hallmark for sure. Love their HEA movies, but since I’m in Canada and can’t get their channel, I’ll have to go with Netflix.
Carrie: oh no! that’s so sad – especially since nearly all their movies are filmed in Canada
Darlene: Mountains – they’re so majestic
Carrie: yes!! i agree
Darlene: Print – there’s just something about holding a book of pages in your hand!
Carrie: Definitely! I love my Kindle for the convenience but it doesn’t beat that connection you feel when you hold the book.
Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?
Darlene: Good question. I’ve always had dreams that I could fly…so yah, like Supergirl! 🙂
Carrie: haha love it!
Q: Who is your favorite book character from childhood?
Darlene: Nancy Drew! It’s where my love of mystery and writing began!
Carrie: YES! Nancy’s my girl!
Q: Writing spaces are as diverse as authors and books. Where is your favorite space to write?
Darlene: My friend’s cottage on the beach. So good to get away from reality and focus on my stories!
Carrie: oh my goodness, that sounds delightful!
Q: If Hollywood wanted to produce Border Breach as a movie, who would you want to be cast as the lead roles?
Darlene: Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman!) and Chris Pine – the inspirations for my characters
Carrie: Excellent choices!
Q: Some authors like to hide little things in their stories. Is there anything you have hidden in Border Breach?
Darlene: Not so much hidden, but there are little pieces of me in the book that my family would catch. 🙂

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Border Breach?
Darlene: My goal is to transform the reader into a world of mystery, but also one of forgiveness and redemption. I believe readers will relate to my characters’ struggles, questions, anger, and ultimately their total trust in God.
Carrie: Something we all need to remember right now, too!
