It’s April! And that means it’s Reading Is My SuperPower’s birthday month! On April 10th, this blog will be 5 years old! THANK YOU for making this community such a fun place to be!! To show my appreciation, I’ve got a couple things in the works. Tune back in April 10th for a Birthday Bash MEGA Giveaway (45 books so far…and counting!!), but today I want to do a mini 5th Birthday giveaway of FIVE of my fave reads to one of my readers!

But first… a look at your fave posts in the past year (and watch my graphics change too, because some of these were first posted in one of the 1st four years but still get lots of traffic now lol)

(based on traffic for the past 365 days, not necessarily when it was posted)

Back in 2018, I shared the following (I promise, the giveaway is coming!), and I wanted to share it again to mark my 5th blog birthday too. Because it’s even more true now.

Thank you, dear readers, for your friendships.

Thank you for your encouragement.

Thank you for your comments and likes and follows and retweets.

Thank you for gushing over book boyfriends and kissingbooks with me!

Thank you for telling me YOUR favorite books & authors & must-reads

Thank you for laughing with me (and at me occasionally lol)

Thank you for praying for me and my family (my dad is doing pretty well, by the way!)

I love this blog tribe so much – and it wouldn’t be the same without YOU!

One of my fave things to talk about on ReadingIsMySuperPower is book boyfriends! To celebrate my 5 year blog birthday I’m giving away my FIVE fave book boyfriends – or their books anyway 😉

One winner will win a print copy of Five Days in Skye by Carla Laureano, Meant to Be Mine by Becky Wade, The Lady & the Lionheart by Joanne Bischof, The Cautious Maiden by Dawn Crandall, and Just the Way You Are by Pepper Basham. 11. Mary Preston

I’m a big Jane Austen fan, so I love all of her heroes, but especially Col. Brandon.

  12. Elizabeth Litton

Some of my favorites are Travis Archer from Short-Straw Bride (Karen Witemeyer) and Gabe Chavez from One Final Breath (Lynn H. Blackburn).

  13. Lisa Sabatini

    Happy “Birthday” !
I have loved so many books and their characters through the years, but, unfortunately, as soon as I get into a book, I forget the character’s names from the previous book!

  14. Becky Dempsey

Happy blog birthday. I don’t know what I’d say for a book boyfriend. I’ve never really thought of them that way.

  15. Woohoo!! Happy blogiversary! It must have been a famous year for starting book blogs. My five year is in August!

Fav boyfriends right now…. maybe you’ve heard of them. Ford, Tate, Wyatt and Knox!? 💜💜💜

  16. Connie Scruggs

    Congratulations on your Blog Birthday!
Charlie Lionheart is my boyfriend, so I’m sorry, but you can’t have him, lol. And I live in Virginia, so I’m closer to him than you! (Roanoke is only about 1 1/2 hours away.)

  17. Caryl Kane

Congratulations, Carrie! Charlie Lionheart will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart.

  18. Connie Porter Saunders

  19. Janet Ferguson

Time is flying!! You are amazing! So happy we met through your wonderful blogging endeavor!
    Hugs

  20. Wow! These look like great books! I know that the Lady and the Lionheart is awesome because I do have that one, but have never actually read any of her others. Hmmm … that has to change I think!

  21. Happy Blog Birthday, Carrie!!

Two of my favorite book boyfriends: Henry from Pepper Basham’s When You Look At Me and Jay from Ray Blackston’s Flabbergasted.

  22. Melissa Andres

Happy Blogaversary, Carrie! What a cool milestone. Charlie Lionheart is definitely a favorite book boyfriend of mine!

  24. Jocelyn

Matt Jarreau from My Stubborn Heart and Beckett Walker from Keep Holding On are two of my favorites.

  25. Dezi A

Congrats! And Happy 5 years!! Hmm… hard to say… I’m gonna have to say Philip Jonquil (although I love any of the Jonquil brothers, even though they’re so different) and Four from Divergent, although that may have a lot to do with picturing Theo James. 😁

  26. Becky D.

Happy 5th Anniversary…or Blog Birthday! 🎉🍾🥰 May the next 5 years be even more fantabulous!! One of my favorite book boyfriends that comes to mind is Zacharias Hamilton in “More Than Words Can Say” by Karen Witemeyee.

  27. Aimee

My favorite book boyfriends are Travis Arch from short straw bride and Darius from full steam ahead

  28. Diana Hardt

Congratulations! Happy Anniversary! I enjoy reading your blog. I don’t really have a favorite book boyfriend.

  29. Anne

Congratulations! Happy Blog birthday! Wishing you the best,. Gabriel Allon from the Daniel Silva series.

  30. Amy M.

Tamara Leigh, Ronie Kendig, Susan May Warren and Becky Wade are my top book boyfriend writers. They have too many books between them to list, but who-eeee do they know how to write a strong, virile, never-apologizing-for-being-a-man hero that sweeps me off my feet.

Congratulations on 5-years!! So happy I found this blog and even more so that I’ve met and hugged you in person. 🙂

    • yessssss those authors write AHH-mazing swoonilicious heroes. And oh Amy, I am too! Hugs from bookish friends are just the best!! Looking forward to the next time!

  31. Rachael K

Felicitations! Matt Jarreau (My Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade) and Cassius McLinn (The Colonel’s Lady
by Laura Frantz) really stand out for me, but I don’t think I’d survive either of them in real life; broodiness is swoonworthy in a fictional hero, but it makes my anxiety skyrocket in real life.

  32. Karen

I’m right there with you when it comes to Ty! Meant to be Mine is the first book that I found by Becky Wade, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I still adore Ty!

  33. Alison Boss

CONGRATULATIONS, CARRIE, ON 5 WONDERFUL YEARS!! Your blog has been such a blessing! I just love your endearing spirit, creativity, and your servant’s heart in making the reading world come to life! THANK YOU!!!

As for favorite book boyfriends, if he’s swoony, tough but tender, he usually captures my heart. 🙂

  34. Alicia Haney

Congratulations , 5 years, that is a Great accomplishment! I have enjoyed your blog, Thank you so much for sharing all the awesome books . God Bless you and your family. Best wishes to you.

  35. Mallori N.

Happy Birthday!! I enjoy your posts and love being able to add more books to my TBR pile. You have introduced me to many authors that I otherwise would never have heard of/read. I’m enjoying Kara Isaac’s “Then There Was You.”

  36. IRENE HENDERSON

I think my answer will reveal that I’m a very fickle woman. I fall in love each of the fantastic, handsome, strong, protective, loving, etc… leading men in the novels I read. My favorite novels are Intrigue & Love Inspired Suspense. The women are fantastic, but I do so love those men!

  37. Debra Branigan

Congratulations on your 5th birthday. My favorites would have to be Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice and Edward Cullen of the Twilight series.

  38. Brenda Murphree

I think one of my favorite book boyfriend would be Charlie from The Lady and the Lionheart
