HAPPY RELEASE DAY to Patricia Bradley! I’m so excited to have her back on the blog today, sharing about her new book (which launches a brand new series) Standoff, and umm… I’ve been ‘warned’ about some extra guests she brought along… Wait. Do you hear something? 😉

“Psst, Tux, over here.” Suzy glared at her brother from the other side of the hole. “Nooo, silly. Don’t you see? You can sneak into MeezCarrie’s blog right here.”  She used her tail to point out the slight break, satisfied when he finally poked his head through.

At least he looked decent if MeezCarrie caught them. Mama said she didn’t like cats. But how could she not like us? Tux with the black bow tie under his chin and black tuxedo coat, and me with my sweet kitten face? Not that Tux’s coat is as soft and pretty as mine. Mama—that’s Patricia Bradley to two-legged people—is always saying how soft I am. And sweet. (She doesn’t ever say that about Tux.)

“Watch it!“ Suzy turned and slapped at Tux.

“Hey, I like it here. It’s a neat place, but what are we doing here?”

“We’re on a mission. Mama went to sleep before she sent MeezCarrie her blog post, and we’re making sure it’s here.”

“Oh, you mean the one about Brook Danvers and Luke Fereday?”

“Is there another one?” Brothers. They could be so dense. “Now remember, if you see MeezCarrie, be nice.”

“I will. Did you see how excited Mom was about getting to talk to MeezCarrie on her blog?”

“Yes, that’s why we have to get it here.”

“Did you read it?”

“Of course.”

“What’s it about? You snatched it away before I could see. Was she talking about us?”

“A little, but it was mostly about humans.  Did you see that picture Mom has of Luke? That is the most handsome man I ever batted my eyes at.”

“Handsome is as handsome does,” Tux snorted. “He wasn’t real nice to Brooke, lying about why he was there.”

“Luke wasn’t lying. He was working undercover. There’s a difference.”

“Yeah, I know. He had to catch those drug traffickers and find out who killed Brooke’s dad. You think they’ll get married?”

“I don’t know. Mom locked me out of her office when she wrote the ending.”

“What’d Miss Perfect do?” Tux snorted.

“She said she couldn’t think with me trying to help her
but if they do get married, I hope it’s in Natchez. That is the most beautiful place. Did you see the sunset picture Mom took from the Riverwalk?”

“I liked the scary ones.”

“Which ones were those?”

“You know
the ones with all those tall cypress trees in that water. I kept expecting to see an alligator
”

“What’s that?” Suzy cocked her ears toward the door. “It’s MeezCarrie. We have to get away
she might have a broom.”

“Well, put the post on her desk and let’s scram!”

“I really want to see her. I think if she saw us, and you were nice, she would like cats
”

“Not me, I’m outta here. “Sides, I’m hungry.”

“You’re always hungry.”

And so the pair left the blog post on the desk and scurried through the cyber hole leaving MeezCarrie’s website behind, happy that they had helped their human.

Here’s what Suzy and Tux didn’t tell you about Patricia Bradley’s latest release (and you can connect with Patricia Bradley HERE)

It was fun reading the guest post from Tux and Sandy.

Can’t wait for the opportunity to read STANDOFF and learn more about the adventures of Brooke and Luke.

  8. What made me want to read it is we’re good friends and half the year I live 5 doors down the street and was privileged to hear parts as the story grew. I know her cats, too. Tux is the best mole-hunter/killer I’ve ever seen, that’s his super power. Susy’s is demonstrating that she is royalty and being a little demanding if people don’t catch on right away. She’s smart, though. They both have their mama wrapped tight around their paws.

  9. Amy M.

Part of the Natchez Trace/Trail is not to far from my home so that’s a plus in reading this book.

Well, lots of reasons! First, Patricia Bradley is a must read author. Secondly, this is my favorite genre and third I am intrigued that the setting includes the Natchez Trace Parkway which I have become aware of through genealogy. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes to the author on the novel.
