HAPPY RELEASE DAY to Patricia Bradley! I’m so excited to have her back on the blog today, sharing about her new book (which launches a brand new series) Standoff, and umm… I’ve been ‘warned’ about some extra guests she brought along… Wait. Do you hear something? đ
âPsst, Tux, over here.â Suzy glared at her brother from the other side of the hole. âNooo, silly. Donât you see? You can sneak into MeezCarrieâs blog right here.â Â She used her tail to point out the slight break, satisfied when he finally poked his head through.
At least he looked decent if MeezCarrie caught them. Mama said she didnât like cats. But how could she not like us? Tux with the black bow tie under his chin and black tuxedo coat, and me with my sweet kitten face? Not that Tuxâs coat is as soft and pretty as mine. Mamaâthatâs Patricia Bradley to two-legged peopleâis always saying how soft I am. And sweet. (She doesnât ever say that about Tux.)
âWatch it!â Suzy turned and slapped at Tux.
âHey, I like it here. Itâs a neat place, but what are we doing here?â
âWeâre on a mission. Mama went to sleep before she sent MeezCarrie her blog post, and weâre making sure itâs here.â
âOh, you mean the one about Brook Danvers and Luke Fereday?â
âIs there another one?â Brothers. They could be so dense. âNow remember, if you see MeezCarrie, be nice.â
âI will. Did you see how excited Mom was about getting to talk to MeezCarrie on her blog?â
âYes, thatâs why we have to get it here.â
âDid you read it?â
âOf course.â
âWhatâs it about? You snatched it away before I could see. Was she talking about us?â
âA little, but it was mostly about humans. Did you see that picture Mom has of Luke? That is the most handsome man I ever batted my eyes at.â
âHandsome is as handsome does,â Tux snorted. âHe wasnât real nice to Brooke, lying about why he was there.â
âLuke wasnât lying. He was working undercover. Thereâs a difference.â
âYeah, I know. He had to catch those drug traffickers and find out who killed Brookeâs dad. You think theyâll get married?â
âI donât know. Mom locked me out of her office when she wrote the ending.â
âWhatâd Miss Perfect do?â Tux snorted.
âShe said she couldnât think with me trying to help herâŠbut if they do get married, I hope itâs in Natchez. That is the most beautiful place. Did you see the sunset picture Mom took from the Riverwalk?â
âI liked the scary ones.â
âWhich ones were those?â
âYou knowâŠthe ones with all those tall cypress trees in that water. I kept expecting to see an alligatorâŠâ
âWhatâs that?â Suzy cocked her ears toward the door. âItâs MeezCarrie. We have to get awayâŠshe might have a broom.â
âWell, put the post on her desk and letâs scram!â
âI really want to see her. I think if she saw us, and you were nice, she would like catsâŠâ
âNot me, Iâm outta here. âSides, Iâm hungry.â
âYouâre always hungry.â
And so the pair left the blog post on the desk and scurried through the cyber hole leaving MeezCarrieâs website behind, happy that they had helped their human.
Hereâs what Suzy and Tux didnât tell you about Patricia Bradleyâs latest release (and you can connect with Patricia Bradley HERE)

It was fun reading the guest post from Tux and Sandy.
Can’t wait for the opportunity to read STANDOFF and learn more about the adventures of Brooke and Luke.
I would like to read this as I love romantic stories.
What made me want to read it is we’re good friends and half the year I live 5 doors down the street and was privileged to hear parts as the story grew. I know her cats, too. Tux is the best mole-hunter/killer I’ve ever seen, that’s his super power. Susy’s is demonstrating that she is royalty and being a little demanding if people don’t catch on right away. She’s smart, though. They both have their mama wrapped tight around their paws.
oh how lovely!! trying not to be totally jealous of you đ
Because itâs written by Patricia Bradley.
yep. enough said đ
