Hi dear Lucy! Welcome to the blog!
Lucy: Definitely winter. I may change my mind if I stayed somewhere where the temperatures drop far below zero.
Carrie: haha! same here.
Lucy: Coffee! What is tea? Is it like water?
Carrie: I’ve heard it is delicious but i don’t like coffee, tea, or water so i’m not the one to ask 😉
Lucy: Music. And I tend to listen to my ‘new’ favorite song on repeat for days. Weeks even. Drives people around me nuts. LoL
Carrie: LOL I’m a music person too but I do like variety haha
Lucy: Soup! Always soup. Doesn’t even matter what season.
Carrie: Yep! me too!
Lucy: Ebook… but only because no one can see my TBR pile🤣
Carrie: hahahaha oh yes i can relate
Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?
Lucy: Coffee drinking. Ask anyone who has lived with me or has worked with me.
Carrie: I’m sensing a theme here… 😉
Q: Other than the Bible, what are five of your most cherished books?
Redeeming Love (so excited about the movie!)
To Win Her Favor
The Lady and the Lionheart
Sons of Blackbird Mountain
Carrie: you just named 5 of my faves too. I think we would get along well together – as long as you don’t make me drink coffee 😉
Q: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever Googled while researching a book?
Lucy: Recently I googled Foxglove and Belladonna. I needed to poison a character. Also, treating a wound with sugar.
Carrie: <makes a note not to drink ANYTHING that Lucy gives me, not just coffee> hahaha
Q: How are your main characters most like you?
Lucy: I think they get their humor from me🤣
Q: Did you have the whole plot outlined before you started writing The Bounty Hunter’s Bargain, or did you let the characters dictate what came next?
Lucy: I never outline a plot (it has its advantages and disadvantages). I got the heroine first. A heartbroken spinster expected to nurse her old beau.
Carrie: oh dear – hopefully SHE wasn’t the one using the foxglove hahaha! (thought it would probably be 100% justified lol)
Q: What is one of your favorite quotes from The Bounty Hunter’s Bargain?
Lucy: And here she was with her treacherous heart, welcoming his concern the way parched soil welcomed a drop of water.
Carrie: oh i love that! that’s gorgeous!!!
Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.
Lucy: I had so much fun here, thank you for having me. I’m working on a Christmas novella. The Christmas Husband is definitely a lot of fun to write.
Carrie: yay for Christmas stories!!!
