I, Holiday Brown, have it all. A platinum record. Multi-million dollar home in Manhattan that I share with my two best friends. Life is looking fantastic until my roommate’s brother decides to bunk in our guestroom while his house gets renovated.
W. Emmett Bell has always been the bane of my existence. He’s annoying, stubborn, a know it all, and just might be the most gorgeous man I’ve ever laid eyes on. But I refuse to fall for him. Then his sister’s threatened by a stalker and dynamics change. His unwavering faith isn’t quite as self-righteous as I’d always thought, and maybe he has a good side I’ve overlooked all these years.
Or maybe it’s all too much trouble.
The Trouble With Love is the first book in the Christian Chick Lit series: Faith & Fortune.

I love creating playlists for the books I write. It’s something I do before I write and sometimes I’ll add to the list as the story continues and I want that one song that encapsulates the mood of the scene. Here are the songs I listened to while writing The Trouble With Love.
“Welcome to New York” by Taylor Swift was a perfect scene opener.
“Empire State of Mind Part II” by Alicia Keys to keep the NY theme going strong.
“Take Me Out to the Ballgame” by Billy Joel was fun to listen to while I wrote a scene at the baseball stadium.
I had to throw a few songs on my list to give a nod to the title.
“The Trouble With Love is” by Kelly Clarkson
“Trouble With Love” by AmeriIe
“The Trouble With Love” by Hunter Hayes
Then there were those songs that showed the confusion Holiday was going through with the feelings she began to feel with Emmett “Wally.”
“Lessons” by Sinead Harnett
“Trouble Sleeping” by Corinne Bailey Rae
“I Choose You” by Sara Bareilles
“Is This Love” by Corinne Bailey Rae
“Fallin’ For You” by Colbie Caillat
There’s also a karoke scene, so I gave a nod to Grease and added “Summer Nights.” If I had to pick one song on the playlist that summed up Holiday it would be “Dear No One” by Tori Kelly.
I seriously have more on my playlist, but you’ll just have to listen to it for yourself. 😊
