A battle for a charming Cape Cod inn…
But what happens when romance checks in?
Single mom Laura Lessoway won’t accept her mother’s plan of selling her late grandmother’s beachfront inn without a fight. But when big-city attorney Jonathan Masters arrives to arrange an offer from his client, she’s drawn to him. And although he came to Cape Cod to close an important business deal—not fall in love—he can’t get her out of his mind.
Laura and Jonathan each try to fight their attraction and focus on business, but it’s not long before Jonathan finds himself confiding in her his other reason for coming to The Sea Glass Inn—he’s trying to find his mentally ill father, who’s recently been spotted at a nearby homeless shelter.
Working together to find Jonathan’s father only brings Laura and Jonathan closer. But with his career and her home on the line, can they ever find common ground?
Hi Meghann! Welcome to the blog!
Meghann: Apples! I like the crunch!
Carrie: me too!
Meghann: Music! I love listening to Christian rock while I work out or do chores around the house.
Carrie: Spotify is almost always on at my house!
Meghann: Hmm, tough call! I’ll have to go with card games, because I grew up playing Kings, Hearts and Rook with my family, and I have lots of good memories associated with that.
Carrie: those kind of memories are so great 🙂
Meghann: Ebooks! They’re so portable, and I can access anything I want to read in seconds!
Carrie: You may be my first author to say that, but I tend to agree with you. Except that I still love to own the print copies too LOL #nothoardingifitsbooks
Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?
Meghann: I would really, really, realllllllllly like my superpower to be the ability to speak and have my children listen!
Q: When you walk into a bookstore, where do you head first?
Meghann: I go to the fiction section to see if any of my writing teachers or friends from high school, college or grad school have a new book out.
Carrie: how fun!
Q: If I sneaked a peek in your purse right now (which I would never do, I promise!), what would it tell me about you?
Meghann: You’d quickly learn that I’m a boy mom! In addition to my wallet, I’ve got a couple of Monster Jam trucks, a pair of kids’ shorts, a Pull-up, Band-Aids, some random socks for the trampoline park and a handful of snacks stuffed inside my purse.
Carrie: LOL yep, boy mom purse for sure 🙂
Q: Some authors like to hide little things in their stories. Is there anything you have hidden in Falling for the Innkeeper?
Meghann:I don’t know if it’s something I hid exactly, but Jonathan takes care of setting up and cleaning out a rattrap for Laura, which my husband has done for me several times.
The last time my husband had to catch a rat was just a few months before I wrote that scene in Falling for the Innkeeper, and the rat was so smart that it evaded all of our normal traps for weeks! My poor husband finally had to put down a line of glue traps, and then deal with getting a live rat out of the house!
That experience made such a big impression on me that when I was trying to think of something that would help Laura see Jonathan as more than just the guy who was trying to take away her home, rat catching was at the top of my list!
Carrie: UGH! I hate rodents – do you see me shuddering?!? lol
Q: What is one of your favorite quotes from Falling for the Innkeeper & why do you love it?
Meghann: I love a hero who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to work for it, so one of my favorite quotes from the book is: “He’d give her anything. He’d give her everything. If she’d just give him one more chance.”
Carrie: oh i love that!!
Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.
Meghann: I’ve written two more inspirational romance novels featuring some of the secondary characters from this book, and I’m hopeful that my publisher will want to turn Falling for the Innkeeper into the first book in a whole series set on Cape Cod. 🙂
