Hi Jenny! Welcome to the blog!

Jenny: Summer over Winter, but Fall is my favorite season. I love the colors and moderate temps.

Carrie: I’m winter or summer but I will wholeheartedly agree with you about fall!

Jenny: I like both, but as an adult, I’ve only had dogs for pets.

Carrie: yay for dogs!

Jenny: Tea, herbal usually. I like coffee, but the caffeine bothers me.

Carrie: Yeah caffeine can be tricky for some people. Which is always sad…

Jenny: Netflix. I’m not a huge fan of sweet romance movies. I prefer heavy dramas or mysteries.

Carrie: I love watching the Hallmark mysteries channel 🙂

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Jenny: These days being strong. I battle muscle weakness on a daily basis and would love to live life without the hindrance.

Carrie: I can totally relate. With my chronic Lyme disease, I have very similar issues. <gentle hugs>

Q: When you walk into a bookstore, where do you head first?

Jenny: The historical or literary fiction area. 🙂

Carrie: Literary fiction is never a genre I would say I gravitate toward … BUT several of my favorite reads over the last few years have been literary fiction.

Q: Writing spaces are as diverse as authors and books. Where is your favorite space to write?

Jenny: I usually write at night, tucked up in my old cozy blue chair with my iPad and a cup of tea.

Carrie: that sounds delightful!

Q: What surprised you about these books or your characters as you wrote the By the Light of the Moon series?

Jenny: How easily they came to me. I just have to listen, and if I do, they tell me their stories.

Carrie: it’s always fascinating to me when writers say that 🙂

Q: Did you have the whole plot outlined for each book before you started writing, or did you let the characters dictate what came next?

Jenny: I always have a rough outline of how I want to process and what the crux of the plot is, but I let the characters form themselves as I write.

Carrie: the best of both worlds!

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from the By the Light of the Moon series?

Jenny: I want my readers to be inspired, encouraged, or to ask the difficult questions about life and where they see God in the mix. With my first book, Ruby Moon, I want to relay the message that God is with us, even in the darkest of places. With Blue Moon, I desire readers to realize that forgiveness is always worth it, and with Silver Moon, I wish to inspire my readers to be courageous in the midst of hard times.

Carrie: beautifully said – i love that!

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Jenny: I’ve submitted my fourth book, Harvest Moon, in my series, By the Light of the Moon, to my editor and will begin the publishing process soon. I’d like a release date of early winter 2020, but I may hold off, due to health reasons, until the fall of 2021.
