Hi Debbie! Welcome to the blog!

Debbie: Summer, Summer and more SUMMER!!! Reason—I don’t like the cold. 😉

Carrie: I’m one of the weird people that gets SADD during the summer and comes alive during the winter lol.

Debbie: Audio books. I love to listen to a good book as I work. I feel like I am multitasking that way.

Carrie: I get too caught up in my work and realize belatedly that half the book’s done and I have no idea what happened 😛

Debbie: Haha. Well, it is under if I have a puppy in the house as it is harder for them to grab and run with. But if no puppy is in the house then it is over. Which is the correct way according to the toilet paper patent. Who would have thought a patent could solve that long time dilemma.

Carrie: Except… is it really solved when clearly ‘under’ is the right answer? 😉 lol

Debbie: Diet Coke! Although, I gave them up and only drink them on occasion. I still love them.

Carrie: You’re my hero for giving them up! (I say as I begin sipping my 2nd one of the day lol)

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Debbie: It would have to be taking care of animals but I know the most about dogs. I love to take care of my animals and love to help others who are having problems with theirs.

Carrie: that’s awesome!

Q: Tell me some good books you’ve read lately!

Debbie: I’ve read several newer releases they are Dogwood Plantation by Carrie Fancett Pagels, The Chaplain’s Daughter by Kathleen L. Maher, and Miss Fanshawe’s Fortune by Linore Rose Burkard.

Carrie: all are on my TBR list!

Q: If I sneaked a peek in your purse right now (which I would never do, I promise!), what would it tell me about you?

Debbie: The first thing it would tell you is I keep WAY too much stuff in my pocket book! It would also probably tell you that I am not a city girl, and I must like to measure things.

Carrie: hahaha

Q: Which character in Bride By Blackmail was the most difficult to write?

Debbie: Duncan is spoiled. I didn’t plan that when I started writing him. But he took me down that road and that was part of his testimony and what he had to see he needed to change.

Carrie: interesting how his story developed more than you’d planned!

Q: Based on the above answer, I think I know the answer to this already but… Did you have the whole plot outlined before you started writing, or did you let the characters dictate what came next?

Debbie: I try to plot out as much as possible of my story. But I can honestly say that my characters never follow the plot line! They always take me places I hadn’t thought of!

Carrie: i always find that process so fascinating!

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Bride By Blackmail?

Debbie: That we all have things in our lives that we need to overcome, whether it is something that someone else has done to you like Charlotte or Duncan who had to overcome his propensity to control things and to get what he wanted.

Carrie: and by God’s grace we can!

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Debbie: Coming up next is Sword of Trust, the long awaited sequel to Sword of Forgiveness. I have had people asking me when am I going to get this out, and I am working on that now about 2/3 of the way through it! Yay!!!
