His Love RevealedTitle: His Love Revealed by Cynthia Herron
Series: Welcome to Ruby #2
Publisher: Mountain Brook Ink
Release Date:
October 1, 2020

Genre: Contemporary Inspirational Romance

Will revelations of the past hijack their future?

Since childhood, Ida Mae Hoscutt, the beloved proprietress of the Come and Get It Diner, has loved Charles “Chuck” Farrow from afar. Now on the eve of her thirty-ninth birthday with no marriage proposal in sight, Ida Mae mourns past mistakes and contemplates a makeover. When a radio commercial wrenches Ida Mae’s heart, will a sudden turn of events sabotage her chance for happiness or will a long-held secret be the answer to love ever-after?

As Ida Mae’s right-hand man at the Come and Get It, Chuck yearns to shift gears and start over. He’s ready to shelve bachelorhood and blunders in favor of possibilities and new beginnings. When he prepares to move forward, two things challenge his objective. One is the father who walked away and never looked back. The other? A decades-old question that only Ida Mae can answer.

And Ida Mae isn’t talking.

Hi dear Cynthia! Welcome to the blog!

Cynthia: Okay, I’m really not a fan of extreme temps, but I’d have to say summer…especially one day when I retire at the beach.

Carrie: ‘not a fan of extreme temps’ is something we can definitely agree on!

Cynthia: I love both kinds of fur babies, but Miranda (our feline princess) currently rules the roost at our house.

Carrie: that’s a great cat name!

Cynthia: Ocean. I need to taste the salt air and hear the melody of the waves. But at the moment, The Ozarks—land of my heritage—is home.

Carrie: ‘both’ is a totally acceptable answer 😉

Cynthia: Well, of course, both have their place. Chili’s great on a cold winter day, but I’m kind of partial to a meatloaf and mayo sandwich with a generous side of mashed potatoes and gravy. 😊

Carrie: you had me at mashed potatoes and gravy 😊

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Cynthia: I used to think it would be to know the future, but now, I think it would be the ability to make others well. Watching my beloved daddy’s Alzheimer’s Disease progress within the last year has been excruciatingly painful. My writing journey began because of my daddy.

Carrie: oh my sweet friend, Alzheimer’s is such a cruel disease isn’t it? Both of my grandmothers had it at the same time, and if I could have made them well I absolutely would have. <HUGS>

Q: When you walk into a bookstore, where do you head first?

Cynthia: Gotta be honest. I head to the Bestseller tables in the immediate front. I like to know the latest hot reads (not necessarily romance *a-hem*), and what books are flying off the shelves. I want to know what it is that’s resonating with today’s readers. Not because I write to trends, but because I’m drawn to memorable stories and themes that grab me.

Carrie: i love that! yes!

Q: If I asked your characters to describe YOU as an author, what would they say?

Cynthia: That I’m about as down-to-earth as them. I’m not a fancy gal. I don’t put on airs. I prefer chicken fried steak over a four-course meal. I’m a lover of the underdog and I have no patience for meanies who mistreat others. That when I write I’m very intense—and sometimes force them (my characters) to trudge through the valley before reaching the mountaintop.

Carrie: oh wait – can i take back my ‘i love that! yes!’ comment above & use it for this answer too? 😉

Q: Were there any songs that inspired you as you wrote His Love Revealed

Cynthia: Yes, the heroine in HLR has an affinity for nostalgia, so I knew immediately what song would take center stage and appear a few times throughout the story. The Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody” has been my parents love song for 61 years, and it seemed perfect for Ida Mae and Chuck.

Carrie: awww that’s one of my faves – and what a sweet backstory to it!

Q: If Hollywood wanted to produce His Love Revealed as a movie, who would you want to be cast as the lead roles?

Cynthia: Isn’t that every author’s dream?! But it is fun to dream, and of course I’ve given this some thought. Naturally, Reese Witherspoon would star as the unpretentious and down-to-earth Ida Mae Hoscutt, and Hugh Jackman (need I say more?) would be cast as Chuck Farrow.

Carrie: ooo great choices!

Q: What is one of your favorite quotes from His Love Revealed & why do you love it?

Cynthia: “Sometimes, we have to endure hundreds of snows to arrive at our spring.” – Chuck Farrow  I love this quote because it sums up so beautifully one of life’s big truths. Often, we really do have to muddle through tons of tough seasons to fully appreciate new opportunities, growth, and rebirth.

Carrie: oh amen. Yes. ♥

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Cynthia: Today, as we chat, I’m knee deep in Her Faith Restored, book #3 in the Welcome to Ruby series. This story will re-introduce characters we’ve occasionally seen in the first two books of the series. It can be read as a stand alone novel, but it’s going to be so much more fun if readers start with Her Hope Discovered, book #1, where they can truly immerse themselves in the quaint, cozy Ozarks’ community of Ruby, Missouri with all of its quirky, lovable characters. 😊

Carrie: yay!

I’m looking forward to reading Cynthia’s book, because we share a love of the Ozarks. Her Ruby, Missouri sounds a lot like my home town in Missouri.

  2. Suzanne Sellner

I’m really curious to know how Ida Mae’s and Chuck’s relationship progresses! I love small town stories.

Thank you for being part of the JustRead Publicity Tours blog tour for “His Love Revealed” by Cynthia Herron.

Sounds wonderful and now on my TBR list. Can’t wait for the opportunity to dive into it. Love the cover!

Enjoyed the Q&A and so agree with Cynthia’s choice of super powers. My mom also had Alzheimer so I know first hand how rough that horrid disease can be. And now with so many ill or dying from Covid-19, it would be awesome to give those some relief as well.

    • Kay, I’m wrapping my arms around you in a huge hug! Alzheimer’s Disease is such a tough road – many don’t understand unless they’ve trudged it. I echo your thoughts – I pray doctors find a cure soon for that AND Covid and so many other illnesses.

I hope you enjoy His Love Revealed! I love the cover, too!

I love that the song “Unchained Melody” was inspirational to the story of His Love Revealed. That song has always had a special place in my heart.
