This sounds like a wonderful book, I love Christmas stories. A few years ago, Christmas with my in law’s was postponed for about week. My mother in law went to the ER Christmas morning, ended up she had pneumonia. Thankfully she didn’t have to stay in the hospital. My husband, daughters and I went to the movies in the afternoon.
