Become the real deal?
Triplet Georgie Harrison will do anything to keep her family—including her newfound Blackwell relatives—from worrying about her. Which is exactly why she’s enlisted way-too-charming rodeo cowboy Zach Evans to be her fake boyfriend for her sister’s Montana ranch wedding. The problem is that Georgie’s not just tempted to fall for her own ruse…she’s also falling hard for the roguish cowboy she can never have.
Check out my reviews for the other books in this series:
I have been waiting for Montana Wedding since I read the first book in The Blackwell Sisters series. For one thing, it’s Georgie’s story and she’s been somewhat set apart from all the other sisterly goings-on. I felt like I had a pretty good sense of all the other sisters from the four previous books – but not Georgie. So I was really looking forward to figuring her out a little bit more. Also, I was eager for the resolution of the story arc that has connected all five books together – will Rudy & Big E track down the missing Thomas Blackwell and find out why he disappeared from his daughters’ lives before any but one of them were even old enough to remember him?
Let’s start with Georgie. She’s very analytical, even in her approach to love, but it’s less her personality and more of a defense mechanism. One she’s had since childhood. At the core of her plans and risk-averse life, she feels safest when she’s in control of a situation. I can totally relate to Georgie in this, and I’m sure I’m not alone. Webb does a great job of keeping her more dimensional than this one layer though. I loved the glimpses of Georgie in her element, and I really grew to love her character – especially watching her in situations that were out of her control. Like love.
Enter Zach.
Swoony, conflicted, hard-to-resist Zach. Unlike Georgie who was able to regiment most of her life even as a child, Zach grew up with a lot of uncertainty. His heartache has continued through adulthood & that’s how his path crosses with Georgie’s and their desperate plans end up hinging on each other. These two are proof indeed that opposites attract. They seem about as opposite as night and day but there are sparks flying aplenty nonetheless, especially since they are pretending to be a couple for their own separate reasons. I loved watching them fall for each other – hard – and help each other live up to their true passions. Both characters have big hearts & are loyal to those they love, so you may find they have more in common than first appears.
Bottom Line: The whole family (Harrisons & Blackwells & significant others) come together for this final book in the series, and boy howdy there’s a lot of ’em. The result is a big, crazy, wonderful mix of people and personalities and laughter and love. Throw in Christmas and you have the perfect ratio of family shenanigans to yummy goodies to romantic moments. My only complaint is that I wanted more from the story arc conclusion that tied all the books together. It fell a bit flat for me & left me still with questions and loose ends. Overall, though, Montana Wedding is the ideal send-off for this Blackwell series – and maybe we could hope for some other unknown Blackwell offspring from these authors in the future?
