Top 5 Christmas Movies Prince Andrew Hasn’t Seen
(But Totally Should)
by Liz Johnson, author of A Royal Wonderland
Between learning decorum, dancing, and international politics, Prince Andrew Tennesley of Marvonia hasn’t had much time for keeping up with Christmas movies. His holidays are usually filled with formal functions and royal responsibilities. But this year, he’s spending Christmas in Tinsel, Vermont. And the pretty hardware store owner Charlotte—Charlie—Hudson is about to show him what he’s been missing out on. Like these five Christmas movies!
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas (starring Jim Carrey)
Andrew may not relate to the Grinch’s unfortunate skin tone, but he sure can relate to a heart that feels a few sizes too small. Buried beneath the expectations of his role, he’s forgotten how to connect with people on a personal level—at least until he meets Charlie.
- Christmas in Connecticut (starring Barbara Stanwyck and Dennis Morgan)
No matter how hard he tries to hide his identity, Andrew is about to learn that the truth will always come out. He’ll relate well to Barbara Stanwyck’s character realizing that pretending to be something you aren’t never works out well.
- The Man Who Invented Christmas (starring Dan Stevens)
Trying to help the people of his country hurting after an economic crisis, Andrew can sure use the reminder of the importance of caring for others in this film about the inspiration behind Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
- While You Were Sleeping (starring Sandra Bullock)
Andrew’s Christmas traditions don’t include a table packed with family and friends. So the big family shenanigans in this rom-com are sure to make him laugh—a pastime Charlie reminds him he desperately needs.
- A Princess for Christmas (starring Katie McGrath and Sam Heughan)
The original Hallmark royal fairytale definitely isn’t Andrew’s normal entertainment. But he’ll do just about anything to make Charlie smile, so he’ll happily watch this story of a prince falling for an ordinary girl—who’s really pretty extraordinary. Who knows? It might even remind him of his very own Charlie.
