SECOND CHANCE HOMECOMING
GENRE: Inspirational Contemporary Romance
RELEASE DATE: November 24, 2020
PAGES: 126

Second Chance Homecoming is a novella, a heartwarming Christian romance filled with fall’s football, second chances, and the wonder of Christmas. Here’s the story blurb:

After her divorce and all that led up to it, Sarah Emerson’s life consists of her son, her job, and the secret she carries. Maybe if she’d married the boy who proposed after Homecoming, things would be different now…

Philip Devereaux has had similar curve balls thrown his way, but he’s picked himself up and continued on. Occasionally, he remembers his first love and the girl that made him laugh.

When a thrill ride at Disney World brings a surprise meeting, they both wonder about that special Homecoming. But with the distance between them and the hurt in both their lives, will a second chance be enough to awaken the dreams they once had? Or will it take the miracle of Christmas?

by Linda K. Rodante, author of Second Chance Homecoming

Christmas is my favorite time of year—as it is for so many others. When I first began writing, I wanted to write a book that would honor God, have a hero who loved in a way that God loves, and be about Christmas. I wrote the romantic suspense novel Amber Alert. The hero is definitely human, but with that protective and forgiving love that God has. At least I hope that’s how he comes across. 😊 Last year, three vivacious young women presented me with another idea for a Christmas book, and the concept for Second Chance Homecoming was ignited.

These three women were my nieces. One particular night they allowed me to listen in on some of their romantic escapades. We laughed and swooned, and one crazy young woman (or maybe all three) suggested I write a story encompassing one of their romances—about a homecoming dance and a chance meeting years later. Sweet romances are outside of my usual genre, but long story short, I caved. Like many book concepts, though, the story and the characters soon took on a life of their own. This is that story—not quite like any of us envisioned. After all, it is fiction.

Linda is a Florida transplant who now lives in Tennessee. She loves sweet tea and apple butter, and both the mountains and the oceans. Her work with a crisis pregnancy center and anti-trafficking groups gave her insight into and a heart for hurting women while still respecting the role God gave to men. Her books feature sweet romance wrapped with real-life issues women face today and have an edge or of mystery and suspense. She desires to entertain but also to encourage the reader in their walk with God.
