Happy Sunday! Today I’m trying something new that I hope you will find fun & entertaining as a monthly feature here on the blog. There’s so much negativity in the world right now, so many reasons to despair and feel like life is one chunk of bad news after another. But y’all there ARE great things still going on out there, if we just stop to appreciate them. So that’s what I want to do every month – even just to keep my own focus on the good things God’s allowed me to experience. Without further ado, here are three great things I read, watched, listened to and learned in January 2021!

three great things i watched
We loved watching Homicide Detective when it was on, so we were thrilled to learn that Joe Kenda was back with a new series on discovery+ – and yes, yes that is the whole reason we subscribed to this new streaming service lol.
… because sometimes you just have to laugh lol
This sermon from our pastor is the best sermon on wisdom I’ve ever heard – and it is so extremely timely for this season we’re all in. I’ve watched it more than once now (because I need the reminders as I navigate social media lol) and I keep learning more each time.

three great things i learned
– I am not alone in my tendency to obsess over fictional characters
– there are 3 people in the world: wise, foolish & otherwise/evil. The wise adjust themselves to the truth & accept feedback. The foolish explain away the truth and turn it back against you, and you must enforce boundaries to stop the damage of their refusal to adjust to the truth.
– the clinical trial my dad is a part of for his multiple myeloma (CAR T-cell therapy) has been hugely successful for him so far! His recent bone marrow biopsy showed NO EVIDENCE of myeloma cells!!! Praise the Lord!
What about you? What are three great things you read, watched, listened to, and/or learned in January 2021?
