Starstruck in Willow FallsTitle: Starstruck in Willow Falls
Series: Willow Falls #3
Author: Pat Nichols
Publisher: Iron Stream Media, LPC
Release Date: February 2, 2021
Genre: Women’s Fiction

As a Hollywood film crew and famous movie stars swoop into Willow Falls to film a full-length motion picture, the small town’s new normal as a popular North Georgia tourist destination is thrown into chaos.

Weeks away from marrying the manager of the town’s new winery Rachel Streetman fears her life-long dream to act is drifting into oblivion and leaving behind bitter regret. She wonders if auditioning for a role in the movie will boost her lackluster career or open the door to a lifestyle incompatible with the small-town life she has come to accept.

Rachel’s sister, Emily Hayes, also has a dream—to be a famous author. But the release of her debut novel is upstaged by the Hollywood invasion. When she and Rachel accept the role as the director’s liaisons, their patience is stretched to the limit by starstruck residents and ego-driven celebrities.

Can these two sisters survive the chaos in Willow Falls and still achieve their dreams?

MORE BOOKS IN THIS SERIES

Hi Pat! Welcome back to the blog!

Pat: Winter. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I have my home decorated by the end of October and enjoy the season through mid-January.

Carrie: i love that! me too – though i usually wait until Thanksgiving to decorate (but very impatiently)

Pat: Dogs. Although now our only pets are pesky squirrels skittering across our deck and deer traipsing through our back yard, over the years we had Black Labradors. So definitely dogs.

Carrie: Labs are such fun dogs, too!

Pat: Music is relaxing and inspiring, especially piano music. George Winston is my favorite.

Carrie: ooo I will have to look up his music. I love The Piano Guys.

Pat: Over, because it’s logical. Right?

Carrie: that’s what they tell me lol

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Pat: The ability to play the piano without a lesson. Years ago, I bought a piano thinking I could teach myself to play. Only one problem. My talent is limited to playing a CD. I still have the piano in my living room and still can’t play.

Carrie: haha oh no!

Q: Tell me some good books you’ve read recently.

Pat: In High Cotton by Ane Mulligan and Murder in the Family by Ramona Richards. Also, two books scheduled for release, A Song For Her Enemies by Sherri Stewart and Bent Tree Bride by Denise Weimer.

Carrie: I’m not familiar with Sherri yet but those other three are fabulous authors!

Q: Writing spaces are as diverse as authors and books. Where is your favorite space to write?

Pat: In my living room sitting in a recliner with my laptop on my lap desk. Why that room? A wall of windows offers a view of nature while a Tree of Life tapestry provides inspiration when I need to stop writing and think.

Carrie: that sounds lovely!

Q: Did you have the whole plot outlined before you started writing Starstruck in Willow Falls, or did you let the characters dictate what came next?

Pat: Although I outlined a basic plot on an excel spreadsheet, the characters took me in several different directions. Halfway through the draft, a new character jumped onto the scene and added a new twist.

Carrie: ooo I’m intrigued 🙂

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Starstruck In Willow Falls?

Pat: Everyone deserves forgiveness.

Carrie: amen.

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Pat: Willow Falls book four is finished and a stand-alone manuscript has been submitted to my publisher. Now it’s time to begin a new project. Maybe another series.

My sister lives in the northern part of Georgia; what a lovely setting for a book! Being in a movie would, indeed, be exciting! This sounds like a fun book.

  2. Kay Garrett

Thank you for the Q&A with Pat Nichols and being part of the book tour for “Starstruck in Willow Falls”.

It’s always fun to learn more about the author behind a book on my TBR list. Can’t wait for the opportunity to read this book.

    • It was fun to write about the invasion’s impact on Emily and Rachel. They have been through so much since they discovered each other in The Secret of Willow Inn.

  3. Sabrina Templin

Forgiveness is really difficult for me. I’m interested in reading your thoughts on it through story.

  4. Forgiveness isn’t always easy. Each of the books in the Willow Falls series includes incidents of forgiveness through characters’ actions, which for me is more powerful than words.
